Tbh it's the most tiring thing about the culture.
There's so many great genres of music and black people are involved in most of em.
But hip hop and r&b/soul and jazz if ur nerdy is all we get to enjoy!
Honestly exhausting. I’ll bump anything from dmx to hall & oates to anime osts. I been stopped subscribing to that mindset. Hell, I don’t even have any black friends who like jazz.
It’s funny how pressed yall get about stuff like this. White people make fun of other white people for being swifties just like they did with anime. Even if you were white you woulda still been the weird kid
You the one saying this is a black specific problem and I’m saying it’ll happen no matter what. Don’t say black people have a problem with swifties or emo kids or whatever group when those people are outcasts in their respective communities. It’s like when yall say black people are the most homophobic but every single election every other race out votes us when it comes to taking their rights.
Well here's the thing. When black people make fun of black people for not liking black music, they say or imply "liking this music makes you less black than me"
It's different than the way white people tease and it's a stupid thing that black people do to that fractures the community.
So yeah, it's a problem the way black people do it. We can't just deflect issues because white people do it too. Unless that's the standard you're comfortable being held to. Which would be very sad.
If you’re living your life looking for validation and approval with no push back or dissenting opinions from anybody else then you will never be happy. I do plenty of shit that yall say yall get picked on for and i never got picked on so it’s a you problem
You're completely and very willfully missing the point because for some reason you're incapable of admitting it's a bad thing to deny other's black folks of their blackness over something as silly as music preference.
No im saying that you would get made fun of regardless and it’s pointless to care about peoples opinions unless you’re just looking for validation that you’ll never receive
How dare people enjoy music they like. Clearly they have betrayed their own race by doing so. I am a perfectly rational human being for believing this.
Is there a reason why they shouldn’t be one? Did Taylor Swift make a racist statement regarding Africans/African Americans?
Tbh, I don’t like Taylor Swift’s music, but it has nothing to to with my race. The whole “You’re black and like thing that other black people don’t like so you aren’t black” thing is played out. I thought that ended in the 2010s?
Only thing I can think of is the weird racism from her fanbase online, there was even a recent incident where some of them got exposed for running a discord dedicated to racial harassment towards her football player boyfriend's black ex-girlfriend where they also stalked her family and tried to get her fired from brand gigs apparently.
I also just found out about the Voice of Baceprot the other day, which is three Indonesian girls in hijab playing metal, if you're into multicultural interpretations of metal. They're playing Glastonbury.
I saw a large black man with a Imagine Dragons tour t-shirt yesterday, and I thought to myself "Ugh, that band really *does* have some stupid catchy tunes", as I started humming "Whatever It Takes" to myself.
Haha it's funny because black people get ridiculed by their own people for enjoying catchy pop music ![gif](giphy|26n6Gx9moCgs1pUuk)
*anything that isnt “black approved”

90% of my playlist is video game music. It's been that way since napster days and not changing that ever.

Look man, I’m gonna listen to shoegaze, dreampop, and darkwave regardless. Fight me.

I mean it's dumb when anyone does it. Or do the headass blackfolk feel better about acting like the headass white folk?

Not too much on Black Swifties from someone with eboy hair.

Wait until they hear about the Botswanan metal scene.
I just want to say: I had no idea this was a thing, and I'm very grateful to have found out about it. In all sincerity, thank you.

Her last two albums **suck**, but she used to make decent pop music last decade.
Sounds impossible
A legitimate question.
