So not only does he not have any other seasons with double digit wins (even at UCF), he doesn't even have another season with a winning record. And he's only been to one other bowl game, with the NY6 Bowl UCF won being his only bowl win. That's crazy
Corcoran got booted after personal fouls on consecutive plays. Gotta at least tie the record for quickest two-penalty personal foul ejection in history.
We were trying to get records tonight and he was the only one that put his all into it. Honestly really curious to see if nebraska watches footage and sends it in as a bad call.
Kirk Herbstreit himself predicted it, knowing full well that we had finally turned the corner. That is absolutely what has happened, no doubt about it. Yep, nothing to see here, just a very good football team, winning in a tough division, yep yep.
I mean there's that stipulation in his contract that we can retain him as assistant head coach. Plus he's good for recruiting, so I'd be down to keep him.
Winning the Big Ten West this year is like winning the creative writing competition in a lobotomy recovery ward. Technically it's still an achievement, but the competition ain't so great.
That said, I hope we keep him, but not as head coach. I could be convinced otherwise if the team shows serious improvement, I suppose.
I can’t decide if that would be a great move or a terrible move.
Results matter but the BIG West is so bad, they could possibly sneak into the Big10 Championship and look better than they are due to terrible competition. But as an admin, how do you not hire a coach who has accomplished something in one season that the previous coach couldn’t even dream of making happen? Guess it matters who you think you could bring in and if that person would be better.
A real conundrum.
That's an interesting benchmark depending on how the West plays out. It would be hard not to think he deserves a chance after the state of the program these last 7 or 8 years.
Edit: this reads way too much as if that's a likely possibility. I'm still not convinced this team will win back-to-back ball games until I see it. I've been scorned far too often.
Not snapping the ball every 7 seconds when you're ahead because of "fast paced offense" when you're hc is on Coke to handle a late night bender.
God I fucking hate our state's sports media
Step 1. Great opening drives. Take an early lead.
Step 2. Open the door for a close game at the half.
Step 3. ~~Lose the lead by multiple scores and play from behind~~. Wait, lead by multiple scores? Does that mean...
Step 4. ~~Bring the game back within striking distance.~~ Back to back Defensive Stops?! Please! Please!
Step 5. ~~Last minute surge. Too little too late.~~ OH MY GOD WE WON! OH MY GOD WE DID IT!
Look I know people on here say we don’t have a “legitimate” sellout streak but god damn am I always proud to see that stadium completely full right now
Whether it’s completely legitimate, find me another program that would even be 80-90 percent full consistently with how bad we’ve been. You fucking can’t.
This is why I think NIL was the best thing to ever happen to Nebraska. They’re the only fucking show in town!! Throw some money around and get a good fucking coach. Keep Mickey and Busch, if Mickey isn’t the HC.
I couldn’t watch the game tonight unfortunately. Went to my alma mater (FCS) game. Couldn’t believe seeing the score after I got to my parents house. First time my dad was in a good mood on a Saturday all year lol
Holy fucking shit, it was a game with full of penalties, but for the first time in fucking forever, we pull away and win against a P5 school again in almost a year.
Offense looked sharp in the beginning and while we struggled for a little bit, we found our composure in the 2nd Half we showed our will. Thompson, Palmer, and Grant all played a huge part in this win and everyone contributed. It’s unfortunate that Corcoran got ejected but I’m glad that Joseph laid into him and showing this shit isn’t acceptable.
Defense, holy fucking shit this was the best game they played so far. They played lights out for the most part and that Bye Week was much needed to get the schemes implemented. It was an all around great performance from the Defense and that was what we needed from a Defense that was hurting. Reimer, Nelson, Mathis, there’s many other that showed their potential tonight that wasn’t shown the first few weeks of the season. It’s fucking awesome that we didn’t allow Indiana to score in the 2nd Half. Also kudos to offense to let the defense get the rest.
Special Teams was fucking on it tonight. It was a fucking shock that we blocked a punt and we scored on that punt block for the first time in 12 years and Buschini played a phenominal game with winning the field possession in the 3rd Quarter to allow us to get composed and win he 2nd Half.
Overall, great team win and I fucking love how Mickey Joseph got the guys together and when we were up against the ropes before halftime and worked his ass off during the Bye week to get things going for us. While he did great tonight, I’m glad that he acknowledged that the penalties we’re high and he put it on him to get better. I’m gonna enjoy this win tonight and hopefully this is a start of good things to come. Like Joseph said it’s one week at a time and now we’re 1-0.
IU all time is 499-694 per wikipedia, this game essentially seals the deal that IU will make it to 700 losses before 500 wins and become the first team to hit that ignominious mark. Awful week, awful game, see you sickos next week for our beat down in the key of maize and blue.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry about how we are so bad now that Indiana fans were calling for Tom Allen's head in the game thread for losing to us.
It’s not really that it’s you, but this was a must win game given the schedule is very hard going forward and we’re looking for 3 more.
it also answers the question of wether the first three wins were a fluke or not.
Anyone who watched the first 3 games knows all 3 wins where flukes. We were the worst 3-0 team probably in the history of college football. If in year 6 of Tom Allen’s tenure he can’t beat possibly the worst Nebraska team in history with an interim coach then it’s time for the AD to think king and hard about if we are going to make an effort to be good in football or just say fuck it and take Kansas’ spot as the worst power 5 team.
I also want to commend the stadium on what appeared to be, through TV, a pretty great atmosphere for a team that has not been good much at all this year. Helps when it turns in our favor, but hope is still there.
We're not winning another game this year. Maybe Rutgers if we're lucky. Would fully be in favor of firing Allen and throwing TV money at Chadwell but that sadly seems like a pipe dream. Program is going nowhere but the bottom and fast
There are Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota fans reading this thread taking all of these "we're back" jokes as 100% serious and I just wanna say hi idiots, it's just jokes because we know Nebraska sucks but they won a game.
Don't take jokes as gospel
Nebraska's rushing box score is pretty wild because of how they treat sacks in CFB. Their top rusher Grant ran 32 times for 136 yards and 0 TDs. But as a team they rushed 51 times for 115 yards and 2 TDS.
So the players not named Anthony Grant on Nebraska ran the ball 19 times for -21 yards and 2 TDs.
For a brief, fleeting moment Tom Allen looked like he was going to be our Bill Snyder. Now he's just gonna be just another coach who failed to achieve anything here.
I hope Tom Allen goes tbh.
He’s calling the defense here. He owns this season.
Keeping him is just a guarantee Indiana will be the dumpster team forever. And he better at least return a chunk of that big fat contract he has.
His buyout guarantees at least two more years. But really, if we did fire him, we'd be spending millions to most likely hire a guy who won't do any better than Allen has done.
Mickey Joseph now has more wins after a bye week than Scott Frost at Nebraska
That's just absurd
He also has a better win pct than Frost ever did at Nebraska.
He’s got a 50% win percentage too, Scott only had a 34% win percentage.
Did frost ever at any point have a 50% winning percentage?
He started 0-6, so there's really no coming back from that...
Man really went from 13-0 to 0-6 in one season
The 13-0 season really sticks out as a fluke. His records for every other season are 6-7, 4-8, 5-7, 3-6, 3-9, 1-3
So not only does he not have any other seasons with double digit wins (even at UCF), he doesn't even have another season with a winning record. And he's only been to one other bowl game, with the NY6 Bowl UCF won being his only bowl win. That's crazy
No.
Mickey Joseph has a winning Record against Indiana teams. Frost didn’t.
*There’s a penalty flag on the post-game thread.*
Dude all I can say positively is... It was consistent. Consistently bad, but consistent. And he explained the shit out of everything.
By his own actions, he kept us fully informed about the game.
This is confirmed.
The way he announced “THIS IS THE END…OF THE THIRD QUARTER” made it feel like doom encroaching.
Holding…………… offense, number 54
Personal foul, offense #69.
Never let anyone tell you that Nebraska isn't record setting.
*Commerical Break in the post game thread*
You can't penalize me
I want everyone to know that Nebraska is tied for first in the division, ahead of Wisconsin.
Somewhere Kirk Herbstreit is smiling
Just as we all expected
Kirk Herbstreit himself predicted it, knowing full well that we had finally turned the corner. That is absolutely what has happened, no doubt about it. Yep, nothing to see here, just a very good football team, winning in a tough division, yep yep.
This is exciting and sad
Kirk's prediction of Nebraska winning the Big 10 West is still alive!
This is so sad yet so fantastic! Go Big Red!
We are terrible, but this isn’t totally impossible after seeing some of the BIG West teams.
Nebraska won a conference game?!?! What is this black magic?!
[удалено]
That is um. Concerning for our division.
But just think, we have a chance to be division champs with an interim head coach.
You think if Nebraska wins the West you all will keep Mickey?
Rumor is he’s not positive he really wants to remain head coach
Yikes. That's unfortunate. I'm a moderate Nebraska fan as I used to live in Omaha, but I really like Mickey and hope he's successful.
He wants to remain at Nebraska. I guess he likes a more personal role with the players.
I mean there's that stipulation in his contract that we can retain him as assistant head coach. Plus he's good for recruiting, so I'd be down to keep him.
Not a yikes, dudes a stud receiver coach
Winning the Big Ten West this year is like winning the creative writing competition in a lobotomy recovery ward. Technically it's still an achievement, but the competition ain't so great. That said, I hope we keep him, but not as head coach. I could be convinced otherwise if the team shows serious improvement, I suppose.

Extremely
Just as Herbstreit predicted.
To a team with a winning fucking record!?!!( HUGE DICK MICK
> To a team with a winning fucking record!? This one of those facts where you go “well, yeah I guess so”.
Is that legal?
I will make it legal.
Not snapping the ball every 7 seconds when you're ahead because of "fast paced offense" when you're hc is on Coke to handle a late night bender. God I fucking hate our state's sports media
The refs were using their yellow magic against us. But red magic won in the end today.
Reggie Smith crew is always that bad
Come on. Admit it. You had this in the notes ready for the Auburn game.
Let me say, idk how both my teams won today, but god damn am I fucking happy for once this season.
This win feels better than any game we ever played under Scott.
Yes, first time in years we were in a close game, and I wasn't waiting for the most insane mistake to give away the game
I was still waiting, just surprised it didn't happen.
Wisconsin is in sole possession of last place in the B1G West
Yaaaaaay!
Gonna be 3 top-10 teams in the B1G East and no ranked teams in the B1G West this week.
Look I know people on here say we don’t have a “legitimate” sellout streak but god damn am I always proud to see that stadium completely full right now
GBR BROTHER
Whether it’s completely legitimate, find me another program that would even be 80-90 percent full consistently with how bad we’ve been. You fucking can’t.
Lane Kiffin was out here begging a top 15 ole miss fanbase to show up today. The support here is different
This is why I think NIL was the best thing to ever happen to Nebraska. They’re the only fucking show in town!! Throw some money around and get a good fucking coach. Keep Mickey and Busch, if Mickey isn’t the HC.
They hate us cuz they ain’t us
WE NEVER TRAILED!!!!
I had to look back at the score to confirm this. It sure felt like we were ready to collapse tied 21-21.
MAY I INTRODUCE YOU TO YOUR FIRST PLACE in the B1G WEST NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS
We’re sharing our first place with northwestern which feels oddly reminiscent of something that I can’t place my finger on.
Tell your kids about T-1st place in the B1G West Nebraska
Imagine not being tied for first in the B1G West. LMAO WISCY
WE ARE LAUGHING
Nebraska is now tied for first in the B1G West
As expected
OK, we won a game today. Win one next week and it's called a winning streak. It has happened before.
A winning streak? What is that?
2018 was the last time we had back to back conference wins.
I swear every Nebraska / Scott Frost fact is more depressing and unbelievable than the last
Nebraska > Indiana > Illinois > Wisconsin Nebraska > Wisconsin Case closed
STOP THE COUNT!
thank you for your service
What the fuck am I supposed to do now I forgot
Same thing we do every game pinky...drink
Drink, but not angrily.
I don't remember how to do that.
WE WANT B̶A̶M̶A̶ KANSAS
Crying shitting and throwing up right now. Tied for 1st in the Big Ten West
WE'RE BACK BABY! ENJOY YOUR LAST PLACE SPOT IN THE B1G POWER RANKINGS NORTHWESTERN!!
If Wisconsin beats Nebraska we will have an Indiana > Illinois > Wisconsin > Nebraska circle of suck
Hell if Illinois beats Nebraska we will have a triangle of suck
If you don't love that, you don't love B1G football. Eating each other alive. I mean, not us usually, but we kick a lot on the way down.
National Championship, here we come.
I'm booking Rose Bowl tickets rn
Don’t mind me I’m just gonna upvote every Husker flair I see in here
Right back atcha.
Nebraska 2022 B1G West Champions!
Ooo do me!
Sure!
I'll take one sir!
Coming right up
I couldn’t watch the game tonight unfortunately. Went to my alma mater (FCS) game. Couldn’t believe seeing the score after I got to my parents house. First time my dad was in a good mood on a Saturday all year lol
Achievement unlocked: by watching the entirety of this game you are now a **certified sicko!**
What do those of us who attended and sat through the entire affair get?
A free Runza
I love the lack of Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and ,Colorado flairs in there after a Huskers win. The earth is healing.
feels so good man
Hard to envision another win after this loss to Nebraska. Is this how the rest of the Big Ten feels when they lose to us?
So nice being on this side for once
Pain
Oh, I see a potential Indiana win on the schedule.....
9windiana?
Hardly knew her 😮💨
We might have won tonight but look on the bright side Indiana, you still have the Series Lead locked up for at least the next few years.
Yes
The refs called more penalties than Indiana had points
There was a brief moment when the refs had more penalties than either team had points. 3rd quarter was: Refs 22 Indiana 21 Nebraska 21
I love Mickey
Team Mickey
Today Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota lost. Nebraska won. Fucking LOSERSSSSS 🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂😂
It’s hard carrying the whole quadrangle of hate by ourselves, but we manage
Goddamn what an excellent day
The West is going to be won by some 4 or 5 win team and go to the B1G Championship and absolutely dismantle OSU or Michigan
Unsubscribe.
It comes with a flag though
Will you resubscribe if it is OSU in the championship though
If Nebraska wins the B1G, but don’t have 6 wins, do they still go to the rose bowl?
No the Rose Bowl will come to us!
This comment is under further review
The words are there, the comment is confirmed.
I like to think I've lived an OK life, but still god saw fit to punish me by giving the world this game...
Nebraska just BARELY avoided going a full calendar year without an FBS win. Their last one was against Northwestern on October 2, 2021.
😤
Never in doubt for a second
The sporting world is officially on notice
To be fair, we don't have Frost anymore.
This feels…different
So Kansas is undefeated and Nebraska is tied for 1st in the B1G West. I like this season.
We won and Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota lost. Life is good
Happens as rarely as me getting laid
I can’t believe the game is finally over
I wish Mickey Joseph was my best friend
Mickey believes in us all. You can damn near guarantee a new bicycle under the tree this year.
Holy fucking shit, it was a game with full of penalties, but for the first time in fucking forever, we pull away and win against a P5 school again in almost a year. Nebraska won and Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin all lost. For at least one Saturday night this season I'm happy
The Quadrangle of Hate is strong
if B1G does four groups of four i really hope it's us with those degenerates
Feels good man.

Very fun game to attend. Many of the final stayed until the final minutes
These last 2 weeks have reminded me of why I drink so heavily…..and we host Michigan next week.
23 total penalties
I saw a USF game a few years ago that I swear broke fifty. We're ass, but we're not noteworthily bad.
Yeah. That one was.... fun 🥲
Honestly, that was the best we’ve looked in years. We actually had some fight
We're not winning another game this year. Maybe Rutgers if we're lucky. Would fully be in favor of firing Allen and throwing TV money at Chadwell but that sadly seems like a pipe dream. Program is going nowhere but the bottom and fast
You’ll win more games. Everyone is a dumpster fire this year and losing to everyone else. The west champion will probably have a 6-6 record.
If only we played teams in the west rather than the east
Unfortunately IU already played two of its West games
Is this what it is to be satisfied with a game? I don’t remember this feeling anymore
Talk to your kids today about Big 10 west first place Nebraksa
Someone who knows, when is the last time NU and KU won on the same day? I'm so happy rn, holy shit. GBR and Rock Chalk!
It was fun while it lasted but the ref show had to end eventually.
Nebraska is now tied for first in the Big Ten West
There are Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota fans reading this thread taking all of these "we're back" jokes as 100% serious and I just wanna say hi idiots, it's just jokes because we know Nebraska sucks but they won a game. Don't take jokes as gospel
Its like no one knows Nebraska actually invented Kool Aid
I just gave up heroine because this feels way better.

Also BIG TEN WEST LEADERS (tied with other bad teams)
Felt like some passion behind the players tonight. Penalties need sorted out, but was nice to see the players showing some energy and wanting to win.
I love everyone in this ~~bar~~ thread.
Not today straight razor
Dang how bad is Indiana to get trounced by Nebraska?
Possibly the worst 3-2 team in the history of FBS, could easily be 1-4 or 0-5.
One could say *the worst 3 win team in history*
Tell your kids about 2-3 Nebraska!
Heard runza is gonna start packing yellow napkins in every combo meal so families can throw penalties during dinner...
Speaking of Runza, I need some Chili and Cinnamon Rolls now.

Nebraska is first place in the big ten west. And Kansas will probably be ranked. Just like we all suspected.
Finally! What a game, what a great fucking game to watch. Finally!
The yellow team, the refs, really won this game.
Big Noon really picked a great game next week.
I suspect I’ll see y’all outside the bottom 10 next week. Woooooo!
[There were a total of 23 penalties for 203 yards](https://i.imgur.com/12nJGGm.jpg)
four more wins and we go to a bowl game.
For a brief, fleeting moment Tom Allen looked like he was going to be our Bill Snyder. Now he's just gonna be just another coach who failed to achieve anything here.
One of the worst games I've ever seen. GBR.
other than the penalties, it was a fairly fun game.
Remind me what part of the game was "other than the penalties". I must have missed it.
I hope Tom Allen goes tbh. He’s calling the defense here. He owns this season. Keeping him is just a guarantee Indiana will be the dumpster team forever. And he better at least return a chunk of that big fat contract he has.
