Driver should be trustable person, get his original proofs and stuffs verify it. You can earn depend on the area you are living / where the taxi service is going to be offered.
For dents and accidents insurance should help ! For minor things driver should take responsible.

I know my dad's friend who tried this business and had to get the innova repaired 3 times because of accidents and had to change the driver once every 6 months. He made a small profit, but when there is an accident and the driver just decides not to turn up, then it becomes an issue. Also, with Uber and Ola already there drivers prefer to buy a small car on loan and drive it themselves. This business model might work in tier 2 cities but not in the metro cities.

The only advice I can give you is that it's all about the driver. In today's day and age. A driver prefers driving his own car. Not for someone else. Unless a. He is young and wants to get some Experience or B. In too much debt that he can't finance it himself.
Either ways it's a gamble. Second income sounds nice but it might not be worth it unless you are involved in daily managing of some sort.
I've had to purchase a car for a big ecomemrce guy for his daily commute from Koramangala to sarjapur and back. The most unpleasant experience in driver retention because everyone worth his salt jumped to buy cars and drive for Uber (since Uber had made really cheap offers and tie ups for drivers to procure cars) Uber didn't kill the taxi market but sucked up the driver pool and left us with dregs.
Depends. If there is no uber Ola penetration then income earning ability is low because of low economic impact. Busy cities, with travellers and corporate use is your bread and butter. Retail taxi (Uber and ola) is low pay and volume work which wears out car. I'd rather have a car doing corporate work sitting in a basement of a tech park being booked for a day Than plying all day running around for fares.
Better off using a CNG car for this….driver should be trustworthy….you can also look at financing options rather than putting in your own cash…one way to derisk yourself from frauds by the driver is rather than you paying him a salary plus incentive, he pays you a nominal monthly rent plus a certain amount per kilometre of travel on a monthly basis….so your income is really passive as you are not doing the client hunting yourself and your only responsibility is timely up keep of the car which is ultimately for your own benefit

Nope, I know two colleagues who tried. Faced so many issues and eventually one converted it to white plate. Drive drives pathetically. Now and then accident issues. Not much margin left after petrol service emi and drive salary. Instead invest in the market. At least a bit secure.
