Pop rivets might work, one in each corner of the board, but that would require more supplies be purchased. However, it would be robust and avoid the sharp bits that people could snag on. Using some masking or painters tape on the boards when drilling should help prevent marring of the surface.

Pop rivets were my first thought. Permanent and durable. A cheap kit can be picked up a Harbor Freight for not many dollars.

Thanks! Would a kit [like this one](https://www.harborfreight.com/hand-riveter-with-40-industrial-strength-poly-rivets-97757.html) work for this purpose? Or do I [need metal ones](https://www.harborfreight.com/316-in-aluminum-blind-rivet-set-100-piece-63390.html) like this and then a rivet gun?

aircooledJenkins

I've never used poly rivets and I'm not sure I would trust them in a high impact environment. I would use the metal ones with a hand riveter.

smontres

This is the kind of thinking I needed! Drilling holes would be easy for me and I’m sure I can find future uses for rivets. Thanks!

Glue strong magnets to the board, should stick to the folders. Or for zipties... attach them to the sides, not the top. Hands shouldnt be over there.

I'm guessing that multiple full length strips of quality double sided tape (like 3M VHB) should be sufficiently strong. Once you adhere it, clamp it for a full day before regular usage.

Alien Tape, available at Wally World or online. Stuff is amazing reusable double-sided tape.

Like, on the outside? So it's slanted towards the floor? I'm confused about what the purpose is here. Can't you just put them in the basket that's designed to hold stuff? I feel like there's probably a better solution to this problem somehow.

smontres

Yes on the outside. It’s a system already in use and very effective. But the old wall file holder was plastic and have been replaced every 6-12 months because the plastic around the screw holes breaks. I guess it’s kinda angled to the floor? It’s never been an issue in the years the system has been in place. It’s a medical related facility. The board is used to write important disinfectant times, room status, and more. The patient chart goes into the file holder with anything else needed. Putting the whiteboard into the bin would mean taking it in and out multiple times per patient to note something and be a huge waste of time

MSullivan37

Two ideas: 1)drill several holes and sew it on with ribbon or thin wire - avoids the danger of injury and if you do it right, will hang straight down. 2) use epoxy over the entire back of the whiteboard then put a thin sheet of material (plastic, thin wood or cardboard) on the inside for stability. The epoxy will stick better if there’s something to grip. Just make sure to rough the surface up on the stabilizing material.

Are the baskets steel/magnetic? You could buy a magnetic sheet on Amazon that has adhesive on both sides. Put a few strips on the back and then you can pop them on and off as needed. Might make cleaning/writing easier.

super glue?
