Is difficulty focusing an actual pregnancy symptom? I can’t seem to concentrate on any given task for more than 5 min and I’m not sure if that’s pregnancy related or anxiety related. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue since becoming pregnant?

Allanahbananah

Hello! I’m here! STM, first was a Covid baby (June 2020) This is my 5th time seeing positive lines, 2 chemicals last year and 1 in 2017, so hoping this one is the charm. Currently 5dp 5dt or my first clear lines yesterday (4dp5dt/9dpo) so it’s super early. Due date will be 8 jan

apoptoeses

Currently grumpy because we have to go by my last period to schedule things, but I ovulate late and know my ovulation date because of LH/BBT tracking. Also I didn't have sex in the window necessary to have the due date they're assigning me. I had to push my dating ultrasound up so I could actually schedule at the right time for genetic testing 😔 I think I'm just cranky because of hormones, but I'm an obsessive tracker and it frustrates me to no end that a measure that is objectively wrong has to be used until proven otherwise!

Mad_Woman_

I'm facing the same too. Almost fighting with my mom over this.

apoptoeses

I can't believe your mom doesn't believe you!!

Mad_Woman_

Fun banter! She's saying this is how it's calculated

apoptoeses

I mean technically that is how they calculate it healthcare-wise if they don't know the ovulation date, but eventually you will get your dating ultrasound and it won't matter anyway. Hope yours is soon!

Reebyd

I’ll be honest - I lied by a few days saying my period started later than it did as I knew I ovulated later. It probably would have got me to see a doctor faster but I didn’t want the stress of hearing we were a few days behind. It will be okay!

AbbreviationsEast457

7w and I think my coworker is now suspecting something after I ate super early lunch then got hungry few hours later. Some eyebrows were raised.

Sunshine2806

I snack at 11 and get lunch at 3. There is no other option for me right now

_-QueenC-_

7+1 weeks here, struggling with nausea. I feel exhausted and want to nap but laying down makes the nausea worse. Any suggestions??

adarose14

Lying on my back, specifically, makes me nauseous and dizzy. Try laying in a different position!

Consistent-Policy-86

Possible TW - I'm roughly 4ish weeks pregnant. Had bloodwork done two days ago and Heg was 614. Missed period date was April 23. Today I started spotting and im panicking. Did bloodwork again today but probably won't get those back until tonight. I've had two losses. How do I know what's normal "spotting" and actually the beginning of my period? If you're the praying type, would appreciate prayers that it's "just spotting" and baby is healthy and fine.

icypopsicle32

Spotting is so so normal. My OB told me half of all pregnancies bleed in the first tri.

Consistent-Policy-86

Ty! Got my Hcg from 48 hours and they doubled. Hoping and praying for no more bleeding and continued increased numbers. Here’s to our December babies 🫶

[deleted]

[удалено]

Consistent-Policy-86

I’m just hoping and praying it’s not the beginning of a miscarriage.

Mad_Woman_

Don't worry! You'll be fine. The stress is real, I understand. Keep us posted. Sending love and luck ❤️❤️

snap_21

Another fertility clinic grad over here! 8+6 and got to see the lil guy! Actually looks like a baby not just a blob.

a-cat-named-bruce

We have identical flairs :) I graduated from my fertility clinic yesterday!! Congrats twin!!

snap_21

Congrats to you! 👯‍♀️

akricketson

Mine graduated me last week but they’re giving me 1 more reassurance scan to get me through the wait until 13 weeks for OBGYN.

snap_21

Oh that’s great. Yeah luckily I have my first OB appointment soon at 10+3. I’d die if I had to wait til 13!

acommonnuisance

I think we're going to tell my in-laws tonight! I kept going back and forth since our ultrasound is a week from now but I really want to tell them in person and I don't think we'd get another chance in the next few weeks. They have been the BEST grandma and grandpa to our toddler and I am so excited for them to have two grandbabies now to love on.

Used-Painting-56

After a low heartbeat of 96 last week at 6+1 my doctor was concerned something was wrong and required bloodwork to check hcg levels. Levels were rising but not doubling so I spent the past week completely terrified. Today at 7+1 heartbeat was 135 and everything looks totally fine it was just literally so early baby’s heart was just starting to beat. Saying I’m relieved is an understatement. Now how to deal with the food aversion and nausea, currently can only handle Tim Horton toasted bagels with butter, chicken noodle soup, and oranges. If anyone has any safe foods let me know! Concerned with how I will keep working (grade 1 teacher so my days are FULL) and I currently feel like I’m on a two week hangover. Thankfully easier to tolerate knowing baby is using all these hormones to grow 🤍

AbbreviationsEast457

Awh that’s such great news!! I was 6+3 and hb 119. Doc didn’t say anything but I know it’s in the lower range?

icypopsicle32

https://fetalmedicine.org/fmf/2010_27.pdf for 6+3 the 50th percentile is 120. You are basically spot on.

AbbreviationsEast457

That’s comforting thank you. My clinic is amazing so I know they would have said something. It’s just me overthinking 🤪

OrcaSorcery

TW previous loss Having just the slightest brown tinge to my discharge today and it’s making me spiral. 6 weeks today. My last pregnancy ended with a MC at 7 weeks in December. With my first pregnancy I spotted from 6-10 weeks and everything was perfectly fine. So I know it could be fine but I’m stressing. My first ultrasound is next Thursday and time could not be going slower.

shadowsandfirelight

I just went to an appointment yesterday where the midwife told me she could see where the sac was attaching to the uterine wall and that it could likely cause spotting and it was no concern. Hopefully this is what you are experiencing 😊

OrcaSorcery

Thanks, that actually makes me feel quite a bit better!

shadowsandfirelight

How are you guys eating enough? I have a high metabolism and eat a lot normally, but with nausea I feel like I am just barely able to maintain a "light day" from before pregnancy. I am light headed every day. It's just that the smell/thought of most foods makes me nauseous. Does the unisom/b6 help you with food aversions too?

Turbulent-Shape8305

I don't know if it helps with certain food aversions for me, but I see a huge difference in my nausea when I take unisom/b6 plus lots of small meals throughout the day.

Kae_p

Anyone else dealing with bloating? I’m 6weeks today and look like I’m 5 months with the bloating. Anyone else have this problem? Any recommendations?

Reebyd

Wearing comfy clothes, drinking water, and trying to move/walk around a little more. Not sure if it helps but it’s nice thinking I’m doing something!

Kae_p

I’m for sure going to start taking nightly walks 🙏🏻 hoping you find relief as well

Reebyd

Thanks! Supplementing with magnesium might also help as it can help with relaxing muscles snd muscle recovery.

Basic_Explorer2331

No recommendations but I am with you!! Lol

Kae_p

It’s so hard being this bloated LOL I was shocked 😂

seau_de_beurre

My final beta just came back at 16dp5dt (21 dpo) and it's 2143! I'm really pleased with this number, especially since it's a 33.4 hour doubling time. My RI may or may not want to do another, but for now, I'm satisfied. We have scheduled our first scan for this coming Thursday, 5w6d. Hope it's not too early to see a heartbeat!

atomicwalrus544

Is anyone else getting progesterone checked? What are your levels? My wife is at 8 weeks and her progesterone was 19.2, no history of miscarriage or loss or high risk. Midwife suggests progesterone supplements. Wasn't sure if anyone else tested progesterone and what your levels were like?

huffliestofpuffs

Yes but I am on supplements. It was 53 last Friday. I also see two specialists and one of them likes/wants it to be high. I think fir most pregnancies that is average (20)

Basic_Explorer2331

IS ANYONE ELSE STARVING EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY OMG

Charmberry_12

Starving more often, infrequent mild nausea and no food aversions are a bad combo for me right now. I'm going to gain so much in just the first trimester...

wildgardens

If I'm not starvin I'm barfin

InflatableDingo

Me. Constantly hungry but most food sounds gross. It’s a struggle

TheAmazingAnn

YES. And I’m starting to feel nauseated if I get even the slightest bit hungry, so my brain’s solution is to just snack all day… my pants are already not happy with me. 😬😂

kalezkalez

Currently 5.5 weeks pregnant and have my first ultrasound on Monday. Trying to stay busy this weekend to keep my mind occupied as much as possible. Easier said than done. Doesn’t help that I’m extra achy/crampy today 🙃

euphadora

Everything has been making me so irrationally angry lately. I know I'm blowing up over things that don't matter but I can't seem to help it. I guess on the bright side, I'm six weeks today. Slowly getting closer to that first appointment.

ExitAcceptable

Me too, so irritable and it's really not like me 🥹

wildgardens

I really just screamed on the phone for 15 min bc I didn't like someone's email tone

euphadora

Lol, sorry, but that made me laugh. Pregnancy hormones are wild.

Equivalent-Honey320

Official fertility clinic graduate over here! We got to see the little peanut wiggle, clear heartbeat of 171 bpm, little arm nubs flapping around and everything! So happy that everything looks good ❤️. Now I just get to feel like crap and cross my fingers for four weeks waiting for my next scan!!  Edit: Mods can you change my EDD to 12/1? It got adjusted again.

snap_21

Congrats grad! I graduated today too.

browneyesnblueskies

Congratulations!!! I have my 9 week scan with my clinic Monday. So nervous but so excited to hopefully graduate!

cantnotdeal

Also “graduated” today and due 12/1! Yaaaay!

Equivalent-Honey320

Woo hoo!!

icypopsicle32

I changed it. Congrats on graduating!

Equivalent-Honey320

Thank you!!

Key_Nefariousness_14

For any angelenos here, I just ordered Pink’s Hot Dogs at 10 am 🥴

Freakazoidon

I thought we weren’t able to eat hot dogs?

Key_Nefariousness_14

Oh no! I’m so stupid for not realizing they counted as deli meats. Thank you for this - that will be my last hot dog! Hopefully no damage done 😖

Freakazoidon

I doubt it was a big deal! I feel a lot of the eating restrictions are overtly cautious. You’ll be ok 🤗

oviatt

lol, enjoy!

Reebyd

Feeling pretty good today? Any day I’m not having horrible digestive problems feels like a win. I finally stocked up on magnesium, prunes, and prune juice. I also survived my first night completely alone with my kid thanks to my spouse’s business trip! My spouse has had to do 3 overnights alone thanks to my work trips so he found this particularly funny 🤷‍♀️ and finally, only 5 days until my first scan/appointment!

jillofsometrades

Wow props to you! I already lined up my parents to come stay with us and help out when my husband is going on his business trip at the end of May because I figured I’ll still be nauseous by then 😂

Reebyd

It was only one night and I heavily bribed his compliance with an iPad. He just has so many opinions these days and doesn’t handle transition well! Plus, I essentially went to bed when he did. That helped.

Maleficent-Intern-11

Have any other second plus time moms dealt with really early round ligament pain? These definitely aren’t cramps and feel exactly like the round ligament pain I had with my son and then daughter, but I don’t remember it being nearly this early.

TapirLove

Yep been getting lots of soft tissue pains around my hips and occasionally lower back. My upper back and neck are strangely tight and uncomfortable too

rosescentedgarden

I've been having it the last week at least (I'm 7+2 now). Definitely round ligament even though it's early. For me it seems to be if I move/ twist in the wrong direction

Economy-Ad-5550

I’ve come to the realization that the my circle of people that know about this pregnancy are my husband, my MiL/FiL, and…. My daughter’s daycare. Gotta love ultra long waitlists 😅 Let this be your sign to start inquiring NOW about infant daycare waitlists as some (like our daycare) are a year long!

Charmberry_12

Should we start inquiring now? Or wait until after my next scan at 12 weeks? I'm nervous about something going wrong before then 😬

duckina10

Waitlists here are about a year long so it depends on your area and how long your maternity leave is/when you need care. Some places require a deposit to even be on the waitlist and there’s a priority list as well (siblings, kids of daycare staff). With my first, I started looking at 8 weeks pregnant and I felt like I was late starting but was able to get a spot. This time, I already secured a spot at my son’s daycare to start in April 2025 but she did confirm that they are a year out with scheduling. I got on other waitlists for my son starting in January 2023 and am still technically on those waitlists but haven’t heard anything.

Economy-Ad-5550

I TOTALLY understand - it’s so dependent on your area. There’s no harm in touring and then asking how long the waitlist is, it may be only 4-6 months! In my area, infant spots are hard to come by so it’s really based on where you live.

InCuloallaBalena

I drafted my email to join the waitlist at our current daycare, but my husband said to wait until after traveling this weekend and telling my parents. However, your reminder is making me want to just hit send! It’s awkward sharing so early, but I can get over that to try and get a spot in time. It would be much more stressful if we have to cover a gap in time. Edit: took the opportunity to send it while stuck on a long car ride! Appreciate the reminder

nontraditionalhelp

The waitlist for mine in currently until next June! So over a year, really hoping since we already go there we will be able to get in start of March.

heaj

What are yall eating?? I am fortunate I haven’t had any nausea or aversions yet but I feel so restricted in pregnancy (admittedly, I am very conservative with “risky” foods in pregnancy). I usually eat a ton of salad, lunch meat, canned tuna. All of which I’m mostly avoiding (except lunch meat— heating). I need healthy ideas! With my daughter, I almost exclusively built her with carbs and cheese because of aversions. Trying to make better choices while I feel good!

nearlynormal

I also have no aversions or nausea, so I just eat any and everything lol. One of my snacks today was yogurt topped with frozen fruit and honey.

lizausten87

I love soups- cant get enough soups lol-

pbjellyvibes

So far dairy is doing ok in my tummy. Cottage cheese has been easy to digest.. usually I eat it with crackers. I’m usually a high protein eater but oddly I am suddenly having trouble looking at raw meat. So I’ve been getting some takeout, or my husband can cook the meat. I’m doing ok so far if I pair it with rice. I have also been on a chips and sour cream kick. Even better, nachos 🤦🏻‍♀️

huffliestofpuffs

Blueberry waffles, toast, diced potatoes and leftover meat from dinner before, fruit smoothies, grilled cheese (you can out anything in it last time I was pregnant I put pickles in it for a short time and deli meat, pizza rolls, ginger snaps, alao meat and veggie for the most part at dinner. But everything else is suspect And anything that sounds good lol. It isn't necessarily the most nutrient dense foods. But I am trying I also tend to need to eat every couple of hours so it is a lot.

lukesdiner1

Just got my second beta back and it more than doubled! It was 144 from Tuesday's draw and 310 from yesterday's draw! I'm so happy. Now just have to wait til 5/15 for my first scan ahhhh!

fneva

Wuhu congrats! I also have my first scan that day, feels like such a long wait 😅

RepresentativeOk2017

Sinus pressure. Omg ow. I forgot how much illness and pregnancy sucks

pbjellyvibes

Allergy season is not making this easy!!

RepresentativeOk2017

Mine is a gnarly head cold on top of allergies. Ugh what I wouldn’t give for an effective and safe decongestant. Mucinex just dries me out and my doctor won’t approve Sudafed because of my history of preeclampsia

pbjellyvibes

Have you tried a saline sinus rinse?

RepresentativeOk2017

Yup, feel better for an hour and then I blow back up.

chroniccuddles

How many scans are you getting? I’m surprised I only have one at 8 weeks and one at 20 weeks!

SimilarChipmunk

I had my first today at 8+1, I apparently have another at 12 weeks, and then 20 weeks with an option for a 4th around 30 weeks. So four total.

ExitAcceptable

I am doing one at 6.5 weeks, 9.5 weeks (NIPT), 14 weeks, 20 weeks (anatomy), and as needed after that probably monthly. I'm of \~advanced maternal age\~ with a previous loss and my husband is a physician so we get some special treatment. NOT MUCH but some.

InCuloallaBalena

If I know my dates (which I do), I’ll only get one at 20 weeks unless something unexpected happens. Last pregnancy, I was measuring behind for fundal height and had an extra. Otherwise, my practice just uses a Doppler.

teeny_yellow_bikini

When I called my OB for my first appt (which will have a transvaginal scan), they automatically booked me for an NT and the anatomy scan. If I remain on the same trajectory as my first pregnancy, I will probably get one in the third tri as well so 4 scans total.

Reebyd

I’m guessing 4? I’ll have my first next week at 9+2. Then I think I’ll have scans around 12 weeks, 20 weeks, and maybe around 34 weeks to confirm position? 34 weeks with my first is when we confirmed he was breech. The doctor was having trouble telling the his head and bottom apart externally 🙃

KirasStar

In the UK a low risk pregnancy gets a 12 week and 20 week scan.

Sudden_Nose9007

My OBGYN won’t see me until 11 weeks, but I’m going to a stand alone clinic around 7 weeks for a peak. I’m traveling internationally from 8-11 to weeks and wanted to check on things before a long haul flight. Then I'd get one at 20 weeks again.

Drysdalegirl33

I think that’s standard! I usually like to request an NT scan around 12 weeks

chroniccuddles

Is an NT scan something you’re requesting from your OB just for peace of mind? I’d love to get another scan at 12 weeks just to make sure before I start announcing

Drysdalegirl33

At my last practice it was standard! To check for markers of certain genetic conditions /in combination with NITP. From what I understand, it can give you different details that NIPT might not give you. I’m requesting it this time, because I don’t think it’s standard at my new practice.

teeny_yellow_bikini

The NT scan is standard for the city I live in (northeast US). I mean, we do pay for it etc and you can opt out, but it's automatically assumed you will get it.

chroniccuddles

Thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Thanks! You're welcome!

icypopsicle32

Next ultrasound is in like an hour and a half at 9 weeks. I’m seeing a new OB and I hope we like him and that things are going well. Honestly I’m not even nervous for this appointment. I get my blood draw for the NIPT in a week and that is where the wheels fell off last time. So I’m just terrified for that. Edit: so far so good. Ultrasound had a wiggly little baby with a FHR of 174.

adarose14

Sounds so strange, but this mango smoothie recipe has really been cutting the nausea lately. Sharing in case it helps anyone else. 1 cup frozen mango 1 tbsp lime juice 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp tahini

pbjellyvibes

Ooo tahini! I had a mango lassi recently that hit the spot

seau_de_beurre

Wow this sounds delicious. Thank you!

cyclinglemon

this sounds absolutely incredible 🤤. I would not have thought to add tahini!

adarose14

It’s so yummy!

DoggosnBrewskis

I’ve seen some posts online saying runny eggs yolks should be avoided. Are you all only eating eggs over hard or scrambled??

Thimble2691

I had 2 runny eggs almost every day in my last pregnancy. I've been having them scrambled now, just because that triggers my nausea less.

yellowsunshine09

Yup 😔

Pixie_1990

If you live in the UK, eggs with a lion stamp can be eaten runny

DoggosnBrewskis

I’m in the US not sure if we have something similar to that here

urthshyne

I just googled the risk of salmonella and something like every 1 out of 20,000 eggs are contaminated. Then I ate a runny egg for breakfast.

DoggosnBrewskis

I may end up with this mindset, I love a good runny egg and toast

icypopsicle32

I do scrambled or I just don’t eat the yolk. I’m a rule follower though and not much of a fan of yolks anyhow.

Eastern-Rutabaga-830

6+5 and we heard the heartbeat at our ultrasound today!!! 😭💗 One more appt with the RE next Friday and then we graduate from the fertility clinic… going to miss my team so much. Also going to ask for the sex at this appointment since we PGT-A tested.

cantnotdeal

8+5 and graduated from my fertility clinic this morning! Everything was looking good. Very thankful today. My doctor is supposed to call me later and I’m going to ask her to tell me the sex.

beth2667

Can they know that early?? That’s amazing!

cantnotdeal

It was IVF with a genetically tested embryo, so we could have known before I was even pregnant! But I wanted to wait until I felt good about things :)

beth2667

That’s exciting!!

beth2667

I am 7 weeks tomorrow.. and am crying all the time. If someone’s nice to me, I cry. If someone’s mean, I cry. If the foods not ready I tear up. 😭😭😭

Tomorrows_A_New_Day

TW: MC On 3/26, I found out I was pregnant. Today, on 4/26, I have to choose what’s next for my non-viable pregnancy. It hurt so bad to hear the news. I cried all night. Plus, we are still dealing with the hit and run accident from last week. Thank you all for your support over the last month. I have loved reading all your stories and being a part of this community. I am going to hang on to the time that I was pregnant and look forward to when I can hopefully be so lucky again 🤍🌈 I wish you all happy & healthy pregnancies. ———————————————————————————— Update: Thank you for all the support. We got through it today, opted for MVA (ironic acronym). Even though this was my first pregnancy, because of the circumstances, we were offered genetic testing to see if baby was developing normally or not. We did decide to move forward with the genetics testing. It may or may not make a difference in court, but I think knowing will help with my grieving. The ob doc said that if genetics comes back normal, then it makes it highly suspicious that the accident caused baby’s death, since all data points to baby’s death around the time of the accident.

ExitAcceptable

What a trauma. I'm so sorry. I would be so so angry.

Tomorrows_A_New_Day

Thank you 💕

calysea

That really sucks. So sorry, friend 🩵

I am so sorry. I wish this had ended differently for you.

akasha_sky

Send you so much love. I hope you find healing and peace, that driver should be in jail 🙏🏼

Tomorrows_A_New_Day

Thank you. They got him on video driving the truck. I go in for a lineup to ID him next week. Then charges happen.

pbjellyvibes

Can they use your loss as part of the charges?

Tomorrows_A_New_Day

I’m not sure how that is going to go. The state already plans on adding personal injury to his charges regardless since I had whiplash & a minor concussion. I think the pregnancy loss would help put his penalties towards the upper limit of whatever they can be.

pbjellyvibes

Wishing you all the best 🙏🏼 I’m so sorry you’re going through all that

Tomorrows_A_New_Day

Thank you 💕

KirasStar

I'm so sorry, it's awful that you both have to deal with this after everything. I hope they catch the driver, and I hope you get justice for what he did.

I'm so sorry! ❤️

Snow_toes

I have my first ultrasound this afternoon. Before finding out I was pregnant my fertility doctor told me the only way was IVF due to my high FSH level. I told her I was pregnant and she somewhat panicked saying I need to be put on progesterone ASAP. That was 2 weeks ago, and my OB said she wouldn’t do that until she confirmed I did not have an ectopic. I got my progesterone level taken yesterday and it was 10.8, minimum for first trimester is 11.2, and my fertility doctor said anything under 15 isn’t ideal. My OB says she doesn’t believe in progesterone supplementation. This is my first pregnancy after multiple chemicals. Has anyone else had experience with progesterone?

jillofsometrades

I’ve been on progesterone since I got pregnant both last time and this time. My doctor’s reasoning is because I had two chemicals before my last pregnancy and one before this one.

Blueberry_Bomb

I would consider getting a different OB. Mine had me on progesterone supplements just to get pregnant (short luteal phase) and I'll stay on them through first trimester. There isn't any research out there supporting the use of progesterone in pregnancy, but it poses no risk, and there's anecdotal evidence to support its use.

Equivalent-Honey320

I’ve taken progesterone suppositories after the three medicated cycles I did over the summer and then the two IUI cycles I did this year (including this one, which resulted in pregnancy). I do think there’s some debate as to the efficacy of taking progesterone, but it can’t hurt. I can’t think of any negative side effects I’ve had from the progesterone aside from increased discharge. I’ve never made it beyond six weeks in previous pregnancies, and here I am at 8+6, so I’m not complaining 🤷🏼‍♀️. Not sure what your OB’s specific issue is with the progesterone, but personally I’d listen to the RE over them on this one.

huffliestofpuffs

My re likes my progesteone above 20 or 30 I can't remember. So yeh it feels low. But I also come from the specialist world. My ob always would defer to my specialists but also wouldn't prescribe so my specialists had to prescribe and monitor those. I also see a reproductive immunologist and their progesterone threshold is even higher than the re.

Pixie_1990

Sorry to hear about your experience. My OB put me on progesterone the moment I went in to see him. I was 5 weeks. My mum had a 10 week mmc so he wanted to be safe. There are barely any negative side effects so I’m surprised your OB is that hesitant. Have you told your OB about your chemicals? That is a pretty clear reason to go on progesterone. Can you get a second opinion?

briarvalley

5+4 and so freakin tired this morning. The insomnia is no joke. This is my first time pregnant - what’s the deal with caffeine? I completely stopped when I found out last week, and I’m not necessarily looking to chug my normal giant thing of iced coffee, but what are my options?

un1cornRainbows

My OB said keep it under 200mg per day! So I calculate it to a science and usually have a double shot latte in the morning (120 ish mg) and a mini coke (21 mg) sometime after lunch. That still gives me a little to work with if I’m extra tired in the afternoon ….. which definitely happened often with my first during the third trimester so I’m assuming will happen with this one too 🤣.

Equivalent-Honey320

My OB’s office said one cup a day is fine, I was having 1 1/2-2 but they said to cut back just a bit. Lately I’ve felt so crappy that one is plenty anyway.

RuthieVaderGinsburg

Emily Oster’s book Expecting Better has a really interesting section about that. I highly recommend the book if you like data driven decisions! Here’s an IG post about it. [post](https://www.instagram.com/p/C2aSgvbR_ar/?igsh=Ym1zNXliMm5tOW80)

briarvalley

You're the third person to recommend that book - definitely going to find it and read it asap. Thanks so much!

shadowsandfirelight

Fatigue hit me so hard in those weeks. You can have some caffeine, typical limit is 200mg. It's not going to fix it all though, so save it for when you need it and be kind to yourself! Nap when you need to. You are growing a human!

Accurate_Wheel5339

I think you can have 200mg of caffeine a day - which is like one high quality big coffee.

OkSeaworthiness2665

This is what I was told as well!

remy624

Everyone in my house except my 7 year old is sick. It’s been a long miserable week. I’m a SRE (if any of y’all know what that is) and this is my oncall week. My husband has also been doing interviews and this job market has been trash. I’m so exhausted and so is he. We need this weekend so badly!

ExpressionSouth707

At 5w4d my HCG only went up 38%. 3700 to 5100. This is my 4th pregnancy with no living babies, I’m trying so hard to not feel down

seau_de_beurre

That doubling time is totally normal for betas that high. Pregnancy after loss is already so scary, but I hope you can find some comfort in this information!

ExpressionSouth707

I definitely do find comfort in that, thank you so much!

magicaltree89

I've read that doubling time can slow once your hcg levels get that high. Has your doctor given you their input? Obviously there are no guarantees, but I think there could still be hope for you. It's such a scary time in limbo though, and I understand personally. Sending you good vibes - I truly hope this is the baby you get to bring home happy and healthy 💞

ExpressionSouth707

I’m praying that that’s all it is! My doctor hasn’t called me about them yet! I’m definitely curious what her thoughts are. I appreciate the kind words, thank you so much!

Just wanted to get a sense… What level of nausea do you guys feel? For my last pregnancy, I was nauseous 24/7 and for a couple of days this time, I was like that too. But the last few days, it’s been on and off for me. There are moments when I feel functional and there are moments when I want to throw up. Is that what most people feel rather than 24/7? Since I had 24/7 last time, as soon as I stop I start worrying.

pbjellyvibes

My nausea is on and off through the day, but this week it’s mostly been ‘on’ with some peaks and valleys. I haven’t puked yet but gagged a couple times… like brushing my teeth or when my sweatshirt felt too tight in my neck 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m 7w. I wouldn’t worry about it being 24/7 or not. Seems like that’s a common experience from what I am hearing.

Blueberry_Bomb

I'm only 5w6d, but the little bit of nausea I've experienced has 100% been caused by my anxiety. I feel fine, honestly.

icecreamqueen131

I also had nausea 24/7 my last 2 pregnancies and now it comes and goes. So far, it’s not as bad at all… so I’ve been worried! My first ultrasound isn’t until Tuesday.

nontraditionalhelp

I am 7+1 and have had no nausea. With my first only got motion sickness, never had nausea outside of being in a car.

un1cornRainbows

I had 24/7 nausea from about 5.5 weeks until 17 weeks with my first pregnancy. I only threw up one time and the only moderate relief came from eating carby food constantly. I’m roughly 6 weeks now and I have sporadic hits of nausea but it’s definitely not the same as last time. It worries me some but I’m hoping this is just going to be a different (and maybe better?!?) first trimester. Or my nausea will hit next week…. Only time will tell 😅

seau_de_beurre

Last pregnancy, zero until 7 weeks, but I developed HG in second trimester. This pregnancy, horrible horrible nausea from shortly after hitting 4 weeks. I'm on four antiemetics already and still struggle to get enough food and liquids. Already been in once for IV fluids and IV zofran. Hoping it doesn't keep getting worse.

TapiocaTeacup

I had no nausea at all with my first pregnancy, but this time it's pretty much 24/7 but usually fairly mild. It's the worst when I'm hungry (which is more often than normal) and also when I've eaten too much. I seem to just exist in a constant state of "Huh, my stomach feels weird. Do I need to throw up??" but then never actually do.

playfulpanda0602

My last pregnancy (baby born healthy at 40 weeks) I had barely any nausea. This time I am nauseous all of the time, even taking b6 and unisom and following all of the nausea mitigation tips. It can vary a lot!

thetiredgardener

I only really feel nauseous when I'm hungry. With my first I had constant baseline nausea that would be worse in the mornings.

apoptoeses

My only experience so far has been sudden unpredictable wretching lol I'll be perfectly fine, then I'll see a certain food and just kind of heave a couple of times without actually vomiting. It's SO WEIRD. Yesterday it happened while trying to select a frozen meal for lunch. I just looked at one and my body said NOPE.

aquakatz

I have this too! Gagging/wretching at the smell of things or seeing a certain food, but not actually nauseous. So strange!

RuthieVaderGinsburg

I had almost none with my first, and everything was fine! This one however, I’m fighting the nausea full time.

Snow_toes

I’m 6+4 and I have no nausea. I wish I did for the reassurance!

Charmberry_12

I'm just over 7 weeks and I really haven't had that bad of nausea yet. This is my first pregnancy so I don't really know what to expect, but it hasn't been bad. Just a few days where I had some nausea for maybe 5 minutes and then it goes away.

Accurate_Wheel5339

Mine has been off and on too and it’s scaring me lol.

apoptoeses

I gained weight just before I got pregnant (work + life stress + pcos) and I was already struggling with finding clothing to fit before, and now I'm preemptively worried about finding maternity pants. Is there such a thing as curvy maternity pants?! (My main fit problem is that I have a huge ass and thighs, so curvy styles help!)

PretentiousPiehole

As someone who wears curvy sizes, the main feature is that the waist is smaller is proportion to the hips and thighs. Maternity clothes are the exact opposite, so I’m not sure there would be such thing as curvy maternity!

apoptoeses

Curvy sizing also tends to have differences in the construction of the rise and the size of the thighs, although this varies from brand to brand. I'm mostly thinking I want a more generous cut in the thighs and allowance for more projection in the seat. Basically I worry that I will get a fit in the waist that is still too tight in the thighs 🫠 Right now I'm 28" waist 42" true hip 42" low hip so it's hard out here lol... Most curvy sizes even only accommodate a max 12" waist to hip difference.

whodeyy

My daughter (4) wakes me up two times per night like clockwork and asks me to lay in her bed with her. It’s never her dad. Her dad is a SAHD and I work. I’m so tired and a starting to feel a smidge resentful. 🙃 I am hoping we can work on breaking her of this habit before the baby comes 🫣

Forthfarter

Spent $130 for Dr and antibiotics drops for an ear infection only for it to be worse today. And 90% sure it's an inner ear infection so drops can't get past my eardrums to help. Dr didn't want to prescribe oral antibiotics because the one he looked up wasn't sure about the effects on a fetus in the first trimester. :( welp guess I wait and see if it clears up on its on like my original plan.

Drysdalegirl33

Garlic mullien oil is amazing in the ear!

IVFwarrior_

I’m kind of confused, doing this for the first time, is there a difference between an OB and an OBGYN? And do you need an OBYGN for pregnancy?

Lunchbox_Confessions

I think an OB (obstetrician) is specifically a doctor for pregnancy and delivery. Gynecologists are doctors for women's reproductive organs. OBGYNs do both. So I think all you need to look for is someone who is not ONLY a gynecologist. OBs are good and OBGYNs are good.

remy624

OP?

LittleP13

Do you mean a DO? That is a Doctor of osteopathy. It’s an alternative kind of degree to MD but they both are doctors. Or are you mishearing OB as OP? An OB is just short for obstetrician. And OBGYN is Obstetrician/Gynocologist. Yes you need one for pregnancy.

leacheso

You don’t necessarily need one for pregnancy, depending on location. Most Canadians deliver with GP’s, and may worldwide deliver with midwives

IVFwarrior_

Sorry I meant OB, I wrote both OB AND OP in one comment lol, thank you💕

worldtraveller1989

OB and OBGYN are one and the same. Every OB also is a GYN. It’s one board certification, but many tend to specialize more in either obstetrics or gynecology

Has anyone found a caffeine source that doesn’t sound disgusting right now? I’d walked my caffeine consumption back but I still need something - and now the idea of coffee repulses me. I’d rather not start the day with a Diet Coke. Preference for something that can be made cold.

SimilarChipmunk

I’ve been drinking iced green tea lemonades in the morning. Coffee was making me nauseous. I’ll likely drink other kinds of tea as well, but the green tea lemonade is helping a bit with nausea.

thetiredgardener

I'm been making iced oat lattes. 1/2 or 1 espresso/coffee, plus a ton of oat milk

shadowsandfirelight

Iced tea has been lovely for me

gratefulcountdown

I’ve been having iced chai lattes. I do a lot more milk than concentrate so it’s not too sweet. It’s not coffee but I can stomach it and don’t get caffeine headaches anymore.

PersnicketyPierogi

What concentrate do you use? Chai lattes have been on my short list
