Don't know why it's remotely popular. Bland food. Life's too short for such generic. You want breakfast? Go to Metro Diner, First Watch, eggspectation, etc.
What would you recommend over first watch?
Peach blossom is great, but the wait kills most of my attempts to eat there.
Turning point is solid, but significantly more expensive
I don’t understand the hate. You just named the shitty overpriced chain restaurants. I can eat for less than $10 at crossroads and get a ton of food. It’s not Michelin star, it’s a diner.
I don't understand the hate. It's a diner serving diner food under new management. The chicken noodle soup is the best thing on the menu and they've done a lot of work expanding it. If you're going to compare it to other places, compare it to other diners, not chain restaurants.
it’s another fucking shitty small business owner who is trying but can’t compete in modern sysco pricing so they cut corners. let’s run some hot water instead of have the grease trap cleaned,, let’s not have any quality control of the facility or the food and allow all these old and frail folks one last round of food poisoning before they head off to Cokesbury.
They have food…is that ok?
Depends on how long ago their last health inspection was and how well they did on it.
Because if they still have roaches then NO, NO ITS NOT OK
It made me feel like I was gonna miss everybody.
I’m gonna miss everybody.
But at least you won’t be lonely.
*(DISCLAIMER: I have never eaten here nor do I even know what part of Delaware it can be found in)*
I heard many many bad things about this place and I've had their food they sent to a job I worked at. The food they sent was awful and their prices are astronomical.
I'm guessing they heard some comments over their weekend sign: https://www.reddit.com/r/Delaware/comments/13u87cb/found\_on\_facebook\_lol/
Was looking for this comment lol
was it….the…the….the blue waffles?
If you're in violation again, then no, it's not ok.
We hated it. And we had cake and it was the saddest cake ever. Ever had cake make you sad? Yeah.
saddest cake day ever
omfg right. I am diabetic and while the IDEA of cake makes me sad, I should only regret is later when I check, not mid bite!
Holy shit I don’t LOL at many things but this most definitely takes the proverbial cake
Crossroads is for Geriatrics. Mary's Country Kitchen is where it's at.
You must not have been to Urban Kitchen yet.
Just as dirty as Crossroads 😆
This is truth.
Always wanted to try that place but it's always crowded. How are the wait times to be seated and the service?
I usually go really early in the morning. I've never run into any crowding but that said I usually go during the week.
Marys country kitchen is amazing fr.
Delaware really needs some of the Greek-American diner owners from Jersey to open up shop.
If the owners of Colonial Diner in Woodbury came over the river, it would be great.
Have you ever been to Cosmo’s?
I demand blue waffles!!
Be careful. They might be moldy.
A moldy blue waffle?? Now thats google worthy!
I saw that.
No, it's not. Their food is trash.

>First Watch That place is for people who have never had breakfast, only heard about it

I went to Peach Blossom on a weekday a month or so ago. No wait. But if that place was any more hipster, I think it would explode.
Smileys Diner is my spot. Always delicious and a great atmosphere
GM in Newark store is shit tho.
Cosmos.
I really like Goobers diner.
Then crossroads must taste good too...
I don’t understand the hate. You just named the shitty overpriced chain restaurants. I can eat for less than $10 at crossroads and get a ton of food. It’s not Michelin star, it’s a diner.
And those chains are better. I would rather spend more than save a few bucks and getting food poisoning.
You do you!
You’re on reddit. What did you expect?

They were good before covid
I found them to be good prior to COVID and their health code shutdown. Ironic
Is that the place that used to be HoJo's on kirkwood highway?
Yes
I think they’re a bit over priced. No, the food isn’t special and like someone said, it’s a diner. I haven’t had anything bad there.

Skilled nursing facilities? In this economy?
Good eats.
Oh the food was always bland or a 5/10 when I went I was younger. But I still really enjoy eating at the place due to memories with my grandparents
I'd rather go to Friendly's. And I'd rather not go there either.
It's a good place to get tomato juice and eggs
Is it really food though?
I mean probably technically
I still miss Post House. Just me?
I remember the auto body shop next to it had a sign war with them and they said crossroads meatloaf taste like our brake pads 😂😂😂

But how many second dates have you had? 😅
Lol asking the real questions
What diner has better breakfast? Bc is sure isn’t cosmos or metro
Newport
Urban Kitchen
Went there a few weeks ago, was good food and friendly server.
I think this is in reference to their blue waffle sign the other day
They have food…is that ok? Depends on how long ago their last health inspection was and how well they did on it. Because if they still have roaches then NO, NO ITS NOT OK
Notice that they didn’t say that they have “good food”.
I detect a little passive aggressiveness on the part of the owner(s) 🤣
I don’t think this is a great joke to make for a restaurant that had health code violations for roaches a few years ago….
Under new management since then, but I get you: read the room, right?
their food is equivalent to the breakfast they serve at the rockford center, meadowood and kirkwood detox

We tried this place this place once, just terrible in comparison to Perkins.
mmm that smell
NO IT’S NOT OK JARED
Food was meh I wasn't to crazy bout it
If you gotta ask, then the answer is definitely a no.
Well if it was close down before for health problems I wouldn't eat there now
no
JFC! Does anyone actually like anything here?
No.
That sure is an accurate description of that place.
The onion ring sauce is so good. It’s worth going there alone
Libbys
Breakfast loved it ive never for dinner or lunch
Two little kids loved it server was extremely nice thats all im saying or experience first hand
No
Welp doesn't matter now someone ran right into the front! I'm sure pics will be posted soon.
I heard many many bad things about this place and I've had their food they sent to a job I worked at. The food they sent was awful and their prices are astronomical.
I'd pick Perkins over this place! Or IHop!!!
Drove past around 5 PM Wednesday, and the parking lot was EMPTY. Reminds me of the “roach closure” under the prior ownership.
Someone drove through. Got to have the structure inspected before they reopen.
