Same here. But after listening to the office ladies podcast talking about this episode it makes sense. The episode aired right after a superbowl and with tens of millions of viewers who had not seen the show before they couldn’t really get into any character-specific storylines. There was also pressure from the network to include some celebrity cameos which I guess is how the writers came up with that bit.
I heard it was right after superbowl too but the whole movie was just bleh. The fire opening, cpr training, and roast session totally makes up for it though.
The Superfan episode is even better. Jan randomly and insanely confessing to holding down the neighbors dog to spray paint it while it was biting her arm is hilarious.
I had the pleasure of showing my bf the office for his first time. When we got to this episode I couldn’t wait to show him. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him laugh so hard the entire time we’ve been dating.
Guess what? I have flaws. What are they? Oh, I don't know. I sing in the shower. Sometimes, I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally, I'll hit somebody with my car. So sue me. No, don't sue me. That's the opposite of the point that I am trying to make.
I enjoy having breakfast in bed. I like waking up to the smell of bacon, sue me. And since I don’t have a butler, I have to do it myself. So, most nights, before I go to bed, I will lay 6 strips of bacon out on my George Forman grill. Then I go to sleep. When I wake up, I plug in the grill. I go back to sleep again. Then, I wake up to smell of crackling bacon. It is delicious. It’s good for me. It’s a perfect way to start the day. Today I got up I stepped onto the grill and it clamped down on my foot. Thats it. I don’t see whats so hard to believe about that.
This would probably be my episode. The switch between spraying Dwight and then Michael with the water bottle, on the way to the hospital, is hilarious.
“Reason for visit? *scratches out answer*”
“What did you put?”
“Taking someone to the hospital…”
I love the way Michael points as he says it... so much energy. He's literally powerpointing. I know that's part of the joke but it's still hysterical and simple yet genius to me.
Probably The Job because I absolutely love Pam’s face when Jim comes back to ask her out.
Every time during those 24 hours where I’d start to get sick of the episode, I would remember that’s coming and be OK with it again.
It is my favorite scene in the show, possibly television period. The look on her face when she turns back to the camera and asks "I'm sorry what was the question" they could have faded to black and rhe show would.have been perfect (we'd all have been screaming for more like Firefly but wjere thay season ends really would have made a perfect season ender. )
Edit: though not the ep I would choose
One of the absolute best. So many amazing lines. “We are trying to create and foster an environment of welcoming and you can just get the hell out of here!” Also “Diversity Tomorrow because today is almost over.”
Abraham Lincoln once said that if you’re a racist, I will attack you with the North. And those are the principles that I carry with me in the workplace
I’d pick a supersize episode so there’s more episode to watch, and you watch it less times. Also those tend to be really great ones! Goodbye Toby! Stress Relief! Fun Run! The Job!
Probably Niagara. Super episode like everyone here has said, so it takes up twice as much time, plus it's a fun episode that ends with Jim and Pam married
Also, there is a lot that you can look for at different points each rewatch so you don't get too bored.
The banker gets a lot of flack for being a clip show, but there’s a lot of great jokes between the clips and the clips themselves aren’t bad - I think it’s a more enjoyable episode than some later series episodes
The fact that the song they wrote for him will be LOOPED in your head.. you better buy yourself something real nice after with all of that money!
Like..a lap top battery..
Scott’s tots. As someone who has watched Phylis’s wedding, the hot chick, and New Boss I can assure you Scott’s tots is about a 6 on the “cringe” factor but a 10 on Michael’s dumbest and emptiest promises next to the health care plan ending with his pathetic drumroll.
I don’t remember the name but the episode of Dwight’s sales vs the computer sales. That scene where Andy starts dancing and blowing the air horn always makes me laugh
Number one, "Holly, you and I are soup snakes." And the reason is because in terms of the soup, we like to... That doesn't make any sense. We're soul mates. Holly and I are soul mates.
One day a friend came to my house for a sleepover and as soon as we woke up the next day I put the office to go with my day.
After 12 hours of it, he told me that it was too much for him and that how could I stand something for so long.
We don't talk anymore.
I would choose diversity day.
I'd watch the episode where Michael and Dwight go to close Michael's condo. I'd spend 24 hours thinking about what kind of home I wanna buy with the money.
The Florida episode where Dwight has an appendectomy and comes back to work….pure comedy gold.
A close second is when Jim, Toby and Gabe are interviewing for a new manager. SHUT UP ABOUT THE SUN!!!
i hate questions like this. $1000000?????? anything. absolutely anything. i’d stare at a blank screen all day if you asked me to.
now that that’s over with, a double episode. dunno which one, just so that there’s more variety to go trough. if double episodes are not allowed then stress relief. assuming you can get like snacks and stuff, this would be embarrassingly easy for me. i’d just make it a goal to be able to memorize every single line in the episode. when/if i’d managed that i’d just speak alongside the characters. i love stuff like that, could keep me entertained for the rest couple of hours
For me, there's a few that if I had to watch over and over, I would absolutely not mind:
Basketball
The Dundies
Office Olympics
Casino Night
The Coup
Safety Training
Fun Run
Goodbye Toby
Stress Relief
Threat Level Midnight
Dwight Christmas
I’d watch the opening credits on repeat for 24 hours for that much. I’d watch Scott’s tots. I watch a 5 second loop of the most annoying sound on the show for 24 hours.
I’d pick a mediocre but not over-the-top cringe one.
I know that by the end of it I’ll hate it anyway. So I’m not ruining my favorite one.
But I’m also not sitting through Scott’s Tots for 24h
Stairmageddon hands down. It’s the most pleasant I’ve ever seen Stanley. I think we should consider injecting him with bull tranquilizer on a daily basis.
Dinner Party. Oh no wait. The one where they sabotage Karen’s copier. I love that parking lot scene the light is so perfect. I wouldn’t mind watching that part 48 times.
I'd pick an episode I can't stand to watch because if I pick one I like then I'd end up hating it after 24hr repeat. At least with the one I hate I might come around to appreciate some parts of it. I choose Scott's Totts.
I'm picking a bad one like "couples discount," "christening," "vandalism," or "the banker" so I won't get sick of a good episode. For that much money it would be a simple task, hell I'd watch "cats" performed by Andy and his buddies on repeat for 24 hours for that much.
I’d do the Valentines Day episode when Michael donated blood and met a girl. She never showed up again, but the people of the Office was there to comfort him. They waited till they couldn’t anymore, and told Michael to come with them to leave work. A truly wholesome moment there.
OP is a chump. I would do it for anything. I’ve done a lot more for a lot less...
They're paying me a million bucks to binge watch an episode? They're paying way too much. Who's their binge watching guy? ^(Oh right it's me)
If I can't binge watch, then what's this all for? What have I been working towards?
If my parents binge watch this, I am toast.
Hi toast, I’m dad.
Yeah but it’s Schrute bucks…..
What's the ratio to Stanley Nickels?
The same ratio of unicorns to leprechauns
Bu- ^don't ^you ^wanna ^earn ^Schrute ^Bucks.....?
OP is Darnell
Who’s your episode guy?
For me it would be stress relief.
Absolute banger of opening and ending. I kinda don't like the part with Pam, Andy, and Jim. The fake movie didn't work for me too.
Totally agree! I think it was supposed to be funny how ridiculous the plot of the fake movie was, but to me it was just… weird…
Interesting. It is a very jarring episode to me and this explains why.
I’d choose Scotts Tots to make it a real challenge
My, my my, my turn! Dinner Party
i have done it for free
That one night?
ONE NIGHT!!
YOU MAKE EVERYTHING ALRIGHT!!
^^^^ah ^^ah ah
SO WRONG SO RIGHT ALL NIGHT ALRIGHT OH YEAH
oh yeeeaah
oh yeAaahh
Darnell’s a chump. I’ve done a lot more for a lot less.
Good luck paying me back on your zero dollars salary, plus benefits, Babe!
It rhymes with Parnold Sportschnegger
NO RHYMING!
Tom Cruise!
Snip snap snip snap snip snap
I’d watch it for 48 hours straight for $1000 lol
DOES ANYONE READ THE PAPER!?!?
Babe
Like whoooooooah
His first name is Tom and he goes on a cruise
A Caribbean cruuuise
Katie Holmes!?
No, but he’s married to her!
Oh! Dawson's Creek!
The only correct answer tbh
There’s something so strangely comforting about it, watch it whenever I have a project due- it’s like my bizarre lucky charm
OMG that one is so hard to watch. Lol they did such a great job in it
Yup XD I think I'd pick this one too! I like some heavy cringe, and always start looking forward to it when it comes around on rewatches
Babe.
Guess what? I have flaws. What are they? Oh, I don't know. I sing in the shower. Sometimes, I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally, I'll hit somebody with my car. So sue me. No, don't sue me. That's the opposite of the point that I am trying to make.
Or the head of a monkey..on the body of..
This is a longer episode too, right? It's actually a perfect choice
Fun Run!! The first few episodes of season 4 are so solid.
"The Injury". Just watched it yesterday. The moment when Michael puts his foot into the MRI. It's just hilarious.
When Dwight says that’s what she said to the doctor and they both giggle is classic
That's MY joke! Damn it Dwight!
I like waking up to the smell of bacon, sue me
And since I don't have a Buttler I have to do it myself
And then when he touches Dwight’s foot when his head is in the MRI and then smells his own hand
This would probably be my episode. The switch between spraying Dwight and then Michael with the water bottle, on the way to the hospital, is hilarious. “Reason for visit? *scratches out answer*” “What did you put?” “Taking someone to the hospital…”
You can’t fire me! I don’t work in this van!!!
The one where Dwight starts office fire 😂
The fire is shooting at us!
Stress Relief!
Today, smoking's gonna save lives.
It never gets old and I love it
Whats the procedure?!
Stay fucking calm
Powerpoint is boring.
Power point.... Power point, power point, power point.
I love the way Michael points as he says it... so much energy. He's literally powerpointing. I know that's part of the joke but it's still hysterical and simple yet genius to me.
The 1 hour one, cause i have to only watch it 24 times again
Probably The Job because I absolutely love Pam’s face when Jim comes back to ask her out. Every time during those 24 hours where I’d start to get sick of the episode, I would remember that’s coming and be OK with it again.
I'm sorry what was the question? 🥹
40 minutes episode too so you have half the amount of episodes to see in 24h
Her teary eyes seemed so genuine that I refuse to believe it wasn't real.
It is my favorite scene in the show, possibly television period. The look on her face when she turns back to the camera and asks "I'm sorry what was the question" they could have faded to black and rhe show would.have been perfect (we'd all have been screaming for more like Firefly but wjere thay season ends really would have made a perfect season ender. ) Edit: though not the ep I would choose
Broke. I could watch Michael kick Charles out of the office all day.
Yes!!! Came here to say this. Michael owned that conference room meeting
His employees may make fun of him, but he’s the best salesman and a boss we could ever see! Lots of respect to michael!
Oh this! I could watch him all day long being a badass in that meeting. I enjoy the Michael Scott paper company episodes the most
The Injury
Some good ones already mentioned. One of my favourites to rewatch is Branch Wars. I can watch it all day. "We will burn Utica to the ground"
Diversity day
One of the absolute best.
Maybeee some spaghettiiii
I’d pick a supersize episode so there’s more episode to watch, and you watch it less times. Also those tend to be really great ones! Goodbye Toby! Stress Relief! Fun Run! The Job!
Booze Cruise 🚢 🥃 🍸
I’M YOUR PARTY CAPTAIN TOO
Captain Jack has a problem with authority
Captain Jack's a fartface
I'd look them unblinkingly in the eye and answer, "You pick."
Jokes on you they pick "The Banker"
For £1million............. Id watch fekin baby shark for 24 hours
But that's not the offer. It's a million *dollars*. You fool, you just got suckered into watching Baby Shark for 24 hours for only £800,000!
Good bye Toby it's been nice! Hope you find your Paradise!
COME TOMORROW FEEL NO PAIIIIIN
Underrated selection. AND I REALLY HAVE ENJOYED MY STAY! TOBY MUST BE MOVIN’ ON!
Probably Niagara. Super episode like everyone here has said, so it takes up twice as much time, plus it's a fun episode that ends with Jim and Pam married Also, there is a lot that you can look for at different points each rewatch so you don't get too bored.
**takes mental picture..click**
The final episode
Def Threat level midnight
The table reading or the movie itself, because I skew to the former
Scott’s Tots Hear me out: You’re gonna end up hating whichever episode you chose so why not start with the one you already like the least?
Come on, it's not worse than "The Banker" surely?
The banker gets a lot of flack for being a clip show, but there’s a lot of great jokes between the clips and the clips themselves aren’t bad - I think it’s a more enjoyable episode than some later series episodes
The fact that the song they wrote for him will be LOOPED in your head.. you better buy yourself something real nice after with all of that money! Like..a lap top battery..
You like that one the least? Man, we have different tastes...
Peach Iced Tea. You're gonna hate it.
Yeah, you might as well use those 24 hours to make yourself impervious to cringe.
Fun run!
A Moroccan Christmas
BELLYDANCING
Micheals last day! Why not cry every 20s or so then realize my last day er cry is ending with 1 million€
The Dundies
How can I explain it
"You have won a tiny Dundie 🎶"
“Sing it, Elton!” -random douchebag
I feel God in this Chili's tonight...
Product Recall. It would take a swat team to stop me.
…you have one day.
1 mil for any episode... I would even listen to season 9 Andy for a week
The Coup
Your dentist’s name is Crentist…
Who the fuck would say no to that? Lmao Casino Night
You pick. I’ll enjoy it regardless.
There's been a Murdaahh in Savannah..
Moroccan Christmas. THerEs a place iN frAnce where thE nAkEd laDieS daNce 🎶
THerEs a hoLe in tHe waLL where thE mEn can sEE it aLL 🎶
I could watch Phyllis' Wedding forever, never fails to make me laugh.
A Benihana Christmas, it's the longest episode so less repetition
Either one of the hour-long ones, since it would be less repetitive, or The Farm, since I can't hate it anymore than I currently do.
Stress Relief Part 1
Funrun
Easiest million I’ve ever made
The prison mike episode
Initiation (pretzel day)
Something from Season 1 because I feel those episodes are quieter and less chaotic and therefore less likely to give me a headache. Maybe Pilot.
Garden party.
Fun run- parts 1 and 2 are one episode in my mind and are perfection.
i basically already do this lmqo
I don’t remember the name but the episode of Dwight’s sales vs the computer sales. That scene where Andy starts dancing and blowing the air horn always makes me laugh
Beach games
Number one, "Holly, you and I are soup snakes." And the reason is because in terms of the soup, we like to... That doesn't make any sense. We're soul mates. Holly and I are soul mates.
One day a friend came to my house for a sleepover and as soon as we woke up the next day I put the office to go with my day. After 12 hours of it, he told me that it was too much for him and that how could I stand something for so long. We don't talk anymore. I would choose diversity day.
I would watch 2 Girls 1 Cup for 24 hours straight for 100k $. Wtf is this dumb question?
Scotts Tots
scott\`s tots
Women’s appreciation
Benihana Christmas
The Injury
Dinner Party.
Dinner Party. Can't get enough of that episode.
I'd watch the episode where Michael and Dwight go to close Michael's condo. I'd spend 24 hours thinking about what kind of home I wanna buy with the money.
Because I hate myself, definitely Scott's Tots
Health Care idk just the way dwight starts reading the illnesses with such a straight face "uhh, LEPROSY?"
The injury. Funniest episode for me. Also love the pam dwight friendship bits
Scott’s Tots because I’m a masochist…
Fun run for a cure
Dwight you ignorant slut!
For a million dollars??? Man, these questions are so stupid… for that amount of money put Scott Tots on FOR A WHOLE FUCKING MONTH.
Yeah seriously. I could see if the question was for like $400. An amount of money that you want but might not bother doing something for 24 hours for.
The episode with the fire drill.
For me, there's a few that if I had to watch over and over, I would absolutely not mind: Basketball The Dundies Office Olympics Casino Night The Coup Safety Training Fun Run Goodbye Toby Stress Relief Threat Level Midnight Dwight Christmas
Fun Run (whole thing no part 1 or 2)
Scott’s Tots. JK lol. Probably The Injury.
The Injury
I’d watch the opening credits on repeat for 24 hours for that much. I’d watch Scott’s tots. I watch a 5 second loop of the most annoying sound on the show for 24 hours.
Scott's Tots
I’d pick a mediocre but not over-the-top cringe one. I know that by the end of it I’ll hate it anyway. So I’m not ruining my favorite one. But I’m also not sitting through Scott’s Tots for 24h
Dude, for $1,000,000 I'll watch Scott's Tots 48 hours straight
THREAT LEVEL MIDNIGHT MARATHON!!!!
Any episode is fine for a mil.
The Dinner party no doubt about it.
“Dinner Party”
I would watch 2 broke girls for 24 hours for way less than that.
For a million? Random episode works just fine.
I’d literally watch any episode of anything for that amount.
Phyllis’ wedding. It’s so uncomfortable to watch yet I enjoyed it damn so much.
Goodbye Toby
You guys are getting paid?
Stairmageddon hands down. It’s the most pleasant I’ve ever seen Stanley. I think we should consider injecting him with bull tranquilizer on a daily basis.
Literally any episode, although I supposed I’d find and episode I enjoy the least so I don’t play out a good one.
fun run
I’d watch any episode for 24 hrs for $1m. If I had a choice? I’d probably go The Injury or dinner party.
I’d get very bored but this would honestly be pretty easy no matter what episode it is lol
Any show, any episode… let’s gooooo
Dinner Party. Oh no wait. The one where they sabotage Karen’s copier. I love that parking lot scene the light is so perfect. I wouldn’t mind watching that part 48 times.
Then it’s a date. I’m sorry, what was the question?
First off, how dare you
I'd pick an episode I can't stand to watch because if I pick one I like then I'd end up hating it after 24hr repeat.
The finale. It's the longest episode and by far the most emotional.
I’d do the Valentines Day episode when Michael donated blood and met a girl. She never showed up again, but the people of the Office was there to comfort him. They waited till they couldn’t anymore, and told Michael to come with them to leave work. A truly wholesome moment there.
Benihana Christmas!!
