Hay, the DM to these misfits here. I love my players and the artist of this piece very much is obsessed with Dungeon Meshi. Please check out her stuff on Twitter so you can call her out on her character design LOL.
Small tid bits about each character starting from the left:
She is a Chori named Jun, a custom race me and her made. She has the elder tempest sealed inside of her.
Dorman comes from Levid, a mad max warrior continent and is the most sane person in the party. He has the Herald of the abyss sealed inside of him, a reflavored Tiamat aspect.
Gai is an assimar that is looking for his daughter after he became a ronin when he did something he REALLY wasn't supped to. THe second most sane person in the party when he isn't starving. He punched a looney toon and has a sacred beast fox sealed within him.
Ketsu is from a very artistic nation and is a straight up bitch to everyone except Jun sometimes. She has the sacred beast Nightmare walker sealed inside of her.
This is so fun! I did this for one of my campaigns as well. The table were laughing bc no one had truly registered how tiny the pixie player actually was, he was smaller than his familiar (a female Almiraj named Bart) and stated riding her as a mount after that.
I read the whole manga. Obviously one of these characters is inspired by the series, but I’m interested to know what they’re all about. Good job repeating the same joke as everyone else tho.
Sure I'd love to, my DM left a comment here as well with some details about the characters. Since we just had our first session I can't say a lot about them other than personality types. My character is the large bird woman named Jun, and yes the comments are correct I got a lot of inspiration from Dungeon Meshi. What would you like to know? I'd love to share!
Hi! My DM and I created a race called a Chorui, they are bird centaurs ranging from Medium to Large creatures. They can form clouds and walk on them as well. You mention in another comment your friend would love it, and if you want anymore details I can share the info with you!
Ask and you shall receive my friend.

This was a plot to a group someone told me about. Everyone played a monster race and he was the only human (they were kobold, lizardfolk and I think Bugbear) and they would refer to him as “the tasty human.”
Firbolg & goliaths are both 7-8 feet tall and medium.
9' is a bit much, but not outside the realm of possibility because 10' is the space controlled by a large creature.
The DM could rule it either way imo.
Bugbears are medium creatures. Ogres are large creatures. That's what the monster manual and stat blocks say. Goliaths and firbolgs are medium, & between 7'-8'.
The character pictured above could easily be ruled as a medium creature by rhe DM without issue.
You said "10 feet is the space controlled by a large creature," but that's not baked into the rules anywhere. Large creatures often control 10 feet, but that isn't actually part of being a large creature. That's what I was responding to.
EDIT: Unless you were trying to say that they take up 10 feet on the grid. "Controls" means the amount of space they can attack into / Attack of Opp into.
Oh, I can handle DMing this. Being a large creature has disadvantages as well. Can't wait for the day I get put a tiny hallway in a place so they have to either choose to leave her behind or to go another way.
Thank you! The Chorui (homebrew bird centaur race) is a tempest cleric, next in order is the dragonborn paladin, then an aasmair monk, and finally a tiefling bard (I think lol)
I love the bird one and i like to think they were like "wings often got large muscles attached to the sternum, so lets make my charakter be most part bird" and forgot about the legs

We have Falin at home
Yeap. He should be glad it was not done by Nintendo, otherwise they would sue him.

Tell me you watched Dungeon Meshi without telling me you watched Dungeon Meshi
Is that... A pigeon centaur?!
No, it's a red dragon
No, this is Patrick
No, THIS IS SPARTA
DONKEY!
I thought that's a biblically accurate aasimar.
I just want to know what the heck it is
Watch delicious in dungeon
Red dragon human Chimära
A pigeontaur? Not to be confused with a pigtaur, the source of forbidden bacon.
Longest Pork
Looks like something from Slay the Princess.
I would think some sort of dovetaur
Someone watched dungeon meshi
How is the Tiefling the most normal looking one here?
Let me guess... One of your players watched Dungeon Meshi and fell in love with Falin.
I, too, love the half elf half chicken build myslef

Dorman is wearing his camouflage well, I never would've gussed he was sane by looking at him 😂
LOL I know, knowing my players I 100% thought that he would unhinged but he has been pretty chill so far.
The lion in the middle right and pigeon like on the left, what are they?
I think the lion is just a person with a mask, but if it’s actually a lion it’s probably a Leonin from Odysseys of Theros
Player of that character here, they are a regular humanoid wearing a fox/oni mask :)
Really cool :)
Is the one on the left Mother Goose or the Swan Princess?
How tf are those tiny ass bird feet keeping that massive thing up.
Dude your Swanmay's busted.
Love the legally distinct Fallin
The one of the far left has some Slay the Princess vibes.
I just gained a new appreciation for my players.
yep. if it works for their table, hey, what can i say. but yeah this makes me appreciate my players as well
🫵 BIRD
BIRD UP 🐦⬛
This is so fun! I did this for one of my campaigns as well. The table were laughing bc no one had truly registered how tiny the pixie player actually was, he was smaller than his familiar (a female Almiraj named Bart) and stated riding her as a mount after that.
I really like the dragonborn!
FUS RO DAH!
Wait, wrong game.
Nah, the player would appreciate it. He's a huge Skyrim nerd.
Can we get some character details?
Watch Delicious In The Dungeon on Netflix.
I read the whole manga. Obviously one of these characters is inspired by the series, but I’m interested to know what they’re all about. Good job repeating the same joke as everyone else tho.

"Don't worry about her, she just stuck herself onto a massive headless bird ."
Heyo what’s the race on that bird girl. I have never seen anything like that.
Hi! My DM and I created a race called a Chorui, they are bird centaurs ranging from Medium to Large creatures. They can form clouds and walk on them as well. You mention in another comment your friend would love it, and if you want anymore details I can share the info with you!
Let me see if they want to use it in their campaign.
They said it's a custom race the DM and player made together
Damn. I thought it would be a real class. My friend would have loved it.

The DM was somewhere in the comments, see if you can get any details
Thought I was on the wrong sub for a second
Third one looks like it was made with a hero forge mini as reference
The third guy in loves heroforge
Love the Centigeon on the left. :)
This is why I always play as humans or elves. Gotta balance out the folks who want to play as... well, this sort of thing.
Screw balance, I like playing humans because it's fun being ordinary in a strange world.
This was a plot to a group someone told me about. Everyone played a monster race and he was the only human (they were kobold, lizardfolk and I think Bugbear) and they would refer to him as “the tasty human.”
It's all fun and games til a 2nd human joins the party and also refers to you as the "tasty human"
I will say that being over 7ft tall makes one of the characters a "large" class creature which can effect spells, rules, etc.
Firbolg & goliaths are both 7-8 feet tall and medium. 9' is a bit much, but not outside the realm of possibility because 10' is the space controlled by a large creature. The DM could rule it either way imo.
10 feet for Large is not a given / baked into the size. A Bugbear sometimes controls 10 feet, while an Ogre only controls five.
Bugbears are medium creatures. Ogres are large creatures. That's what the monster manual and stat blocks say. Goliaths and firbolgs are medium, & between 7'-8'. The character pictured above could easily be ruled as a medium creature by rhe DM without issue.

WOTC doesn't do Large PCs. They only get Powerful Build and sadness.
Exactly, I wanted to give them the large treatment. They wanted to be big so I gave them the ups and downs of such a size.
Oh, I can handle DMing this. Being a large creature has disadvantages as well. Can't wait for the day I get put a tiny hallway in a place so they have to either choose to leave her behind or to go another way.
Beautiful art. What class and race is everyone?
My guess is a owllin cleric, black Dragonborn necromancy wizard, a human monk and a tiefling rouge
Thank you! The Chorui (homebrew bird centaur race) is a tempest cleric, next in order is the dragonborn paladin, then an aasmair monk, and finally a tiefling bard (I think lol)
To the arpy -excuse me, have we see each other before? -mm no, I don't think soo
OMG, those tiny skinny bird legs.
wtf is chicken girl supposed to be?
I love the bird one and i like to think they were like "wings often got large muscles attached to the sternum, so lets make my charakter be most part bird" and forgot about the legs
Nah, they took it from Delicious in Dungeon
The campaign is based on Dungeon Meshi isn't it?
They probably ain't bringing it into the game, but every single one of these players except the tiefling has an A+ fetish going on
Also don't get me wrong, I love the art, your players look fun and their characters are awesome
One can oy wonder where you got the inspiration for the first one.
Whats the bird?
Is that the girl from delicious in dungeon?
Dee Reynolds is that you?
sounds like a ball
Tell me you can only draw feet from the side without telling me you can only draw feet from the side.
