I think it’s like the western border of “the Midwest” in the same way that Pittsburgh is the eastern border. But I’m not from the Midwest at all so I could be very mistaken. Missouri in general is this weird hybrid of south/midwest/plains
With this schedule I really wouldn't be surprised if they returned to Liberty City in an eventual GTA7. It's gonna come out in like 2037 anyway and a 2037 Liberty City is gonna look a whole lot different than a 2008 one. If they include Rockaway, New Jersey, a large Upstate/Hudson Valley area there is incentive to do it too and I'd be psyched for that.
But if they go for a new city, I feel like a Chicago or Houston setting would be a good bet. I feel between Saint-Denis in RDR2 and the Miami area in GTA6, the whole Bayou/French colony aesthetic will have been decently covered. Honestly same could be said for the entire South of the US, I feel.
I really liked the North Dakota aspect of GTA5, but GTA is at its core without a doubt a metropolitan based series. So IF they decide to broaden out, Chicago is the safest bet I feel.
GTA Europe would be nice. Some of those crazy little costal village roads and buildings to navigate, then a Londonesque City with its versions of Ghettos
It’s interesting you say that because apparently they were in the works to make a Carcer City DLC for GTA 5 story mode, but seeing how popular online became, they scrapped it. If you don’t know Carcer city is the setting for the game “Manhunt” which people are theorizing is part of the GTA universe. Michael mentions doing a heist on the outskirts of Carcer City in a piece of dialogue before one of the heists. Carcer city is supposed to take place in one of the rust belt states. People speculate it’s either Chicago or Detroit only based off how fucked up those locations are.
Carcer City is definitely part of both the HD and 3D universe, so they needn't theorize any longer haha.
You can see Sprunk adverts in Carcer City, some gang members in Manhunt actually mention Phil Cassidy, and a GTA III news report mentions the city, amongst other things.
With regards to the HD games, it's meant to be a different rendition of the city, but it's the same place overall: a Rustbelt city that's kind of gone to the dogs. As well as that, you can hear pedestrians give you shit in IV, proclaiming you're from the city if you nearly hit them (I'm guessing the city has bad drivers lol) and when looking through the police computer, I've seen that a few of the criminals listed are actually from Carcer.
Edit; should've read the rest of the comment. You'd already mentioned the Michael thing - my bad 😅
Yea, I'm from KCMO, and I could see a game based here with the surrounding country. We have alot of people and places to go but we just don't build up besides in downtown really. We have everything from the homeless to one of the wealthiest places in the country. Plus the stuff I see driving home from work through downtown is basically GTA.
In the original GTA to down game, a few people would mod the game a lot. There was this one which was someone's hometown I think in the snow which was fun.
A big map consisting of rust belt cities like Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh would be peak. It'd be a good excuse to bring back Carcer City from Manhunt.
I think a game set somewhere like El Paso/Juarez would be interesting. Maybe it could be a story about a young drug smuggler making his/her way up the cartel food chain.
Bro what interesting shi would happen in Canada and if they did include all this forest and nature what’s the point most players wanna get into the action and missions in the game and also online. So if they did include all the Ski Resorts a national park, caves and fishing what’s the point mf this ain’t real life sim or fishing sim. If you wanna do those things just play games about those topics. I see your point but it’s not needed, of course add some exploration but not over added exploration
I mean like, in rdr2 how you can do that stuff to get money. You could get better at those things too like in rdr2. Plus in rdr2 in the wilderness not only is it beautiful, but seeing animals interact is fun. Also theres huts and ruins and treasures and stuff like that. Rdr2 has loads of real life and fishing stuff, so they could totally fit that into a gta game
Bro how much money are you gonna get from catchin damn fish in a river, huh. I’ll tell, you ain’t gonna be getting shi. This is gta where you’ll be earning some pretty good cash by doing missions, if you wanna see the beautiful wilderness just go outside or travel for a day to see some beautiful wilderness. Animals interact? I can just go outside and see animals interact, how is seeing animals in a game interact “fun”. Rdr2 might have those features because that shi was set 100 years ago. GTA is in the modern age where there’s a lot of more interesting shi than digital wilderness and fishing. With the treasures thats a cool idea. I guess the ruins are an ok idea
I would play any GTA game
A GTA game set in St Louis/East St Louis would be amazing
St Louis is mid west?
I think it’s like the western border of “the Midwest” in the same way that Pittsburgh is the eastern border. But I’m not from the Midwest at all so I could be very mistaken. Missouri in general is this weird hybrid of south/midwest/plains
From what I understand yes it is
A GTA game set in Chicago would be so dope
GTA carcer city
I also want to see my hometown in GTA
GTA Gary Indiana would be so wild
O block Chicago chiraq
I would love to play a GTA Midwest game hell yeah
Chicago and Detroit for GTA 7

They could make GTA take place completely inside of a Pizza Hut. I’m playing it.
I want Chicago to be a location in a future GTA game like GTA 7
Sure. I’d love if they rebooted Carcer City and allowed you to start rebuilding parts of the city with criminal empires like in VCS.
Chicago, Houston, or Atlanta are next on the list for me
These all feel like the most likely possibilities of cities that haven’t already been used
Fr they seem like the most obvious choices to me
Washington DC?
Houston sounds like a great idea. Texas is comedy gold.
A Midwest GTA would be dope
GTA Wisconsin baby
yeah GTA is GTA
GTA Europe would be nice. Some of those crazy little costal village roads and buildings to navigate, then a Londonesque City with its versions of Ghettos

Detroit and Baltimore come to mind. Even D.C or Charlotte, N.C, would be a good choice I reckon.
I'd play a GTA game in Chicago. Or whatever the hell they would name it.

Gold Coast
