After my hernia surgery, I was given an overdose of toradol by iv/ injection. 9 days when you are not supposed to get it more than 5 days in a row. It led to ulcer like symptoms and probably triggered my erosive reactive gastrtis. It is an nsaid. So, though I got it through injection, it still caused stomach problems for myself.

NewsgramLady

I actually had a Toradol shot yesterday and the day before due to a migraine. Didn't affect my stomach at all. I'm sure because it goes to the blood stream and not through the stomach. I was totally fine.

Cox 1 inhibitor so just as bad, but not every pill of ibuprofen will instantly hurt you.

TwistedSuccubus

The ER doc and nurse told me that it doesn’t affect the gastric because it’s being injected directly into your bloodstream, bypassing it—- but I was still skeptical since it’s an nsaid

Caused a lot of bloating, cramping, and lower back pain for me. When I say bloating, I mean like I looked pregnant and it felt like there was so much pressure something was pushing on my bladder and urinating wayyyy more. Lower stomach hard as a rock… that type of bloat. I got it in IV and the side effects are lasting for going on 5 days. It helped my headache but I’m not sure I would take it again unless it was a last resort. This is pretty nightmarish.

I just had a shot yesterday and I'm having the exact same symptoms today. Distended, hard stomach. It lasted 5 days?! Yikes.

How long did it take for you to get back to baseline after those symptoms?

TheSpotMarkers

My symptoms gradually receded over 24-48 hours.
