I really feel this is the case. Mondstadt being called the Prologue chapter probably has a poetic meaning behind it. Like this is where we started and this is where it'll end.
Even though I fucking love Raiden because of how badass and hot she is, I also would say Venti. He gives me a major lord Krishna vibe. I don't see any actual similarity, but when it comes to vibe yeah. A totally chaotic fun guy till shit hits the fan. Venti's story quest is still one of my favourites. Not to mention, his "freedom asked by an archon isn't freedom at all" is so fucking profound
Also imo he's the only one who embodies their principle the most. He truly believes in freedom, and so Mondstadt is completely free from his influence. He will fight for it, as that is his duty, but he will never rule over them, and will never let them be ruled over.
I am eternally waiting for his second story quest. I desperately need more of my beloved bard. He's the first one we meet, but we know the least about him!
Venti is also my favorite. He's the archon who sticks to his principles all the way and is the cleverest. While Venti can't say much due to Celestia I wouldn't be surprised if he's got something planned. I also wouldn't be surprised if he was ready to pull one over on the Tsaritsa again.
While I won't say whether or the the Primordial One is also a femboy, the PO is described as androgynous and they have angel wings and a crown
Similarly, Venti's model literally has a mix of the male and female models making his androgyny stand out way more compared to other male characters

Venti simply because he seems to be the most mysterious and secretive member of the Seven as well as his personality, his actions are always that of a planner, always one step ahead of everything and when things don't go the way he wants, he just creates a new plan much like with Dvalin.
I think Zhongli fought tooth and nail against powerful gods and when the dust settled, he was simply the strongest survivor.
Venti is the only other Archon from the original 7, survived everything up to the modern day, he's on par with Zhongli perhaps not in sheer might but certainly in cunning.
That said, at his height, he casually chucked mountains because he wanted a better view of the horizon.
Venti today is nowhere near his prime, heck, the Wanderer and other Anemo characters fly higher and/or longer than him.
But it's clear to me he hasn't lost his edge when it comes to planning.
Yeah, I would much rather fight someone like Zhongli because he is a warrior, they will fight you directly, Venti will either lead you into a trap or have some trap prepared that could win him the day, you never know what is going on their heads.
Nahida. The only one among them I'd follow if I had to choose. Benevolent, caring, guiding, educating. She cherishes knowledge and is striving to understand the world around her and her people.
Yeah, she is my first and favorite archon... She deserves her freedom. Despite all the treatment she gets, she never harbors any resentment towards anyone. Furina is close 2nd.
I just love the fact that she says Kaveh is among the closest to understanding wisdom. She values wisdom not just as cold rationality, but subjective values like the sense of wonder, curiosity, understanding. I adore Furina as a character but Nahida represents a really inspiring notion of knowledge.
Still Zhongli. Dude's a menace back in his day. But he's the wisest in all of Teyvat as of now so any lore bomb from him about the Archon War really excites me.
She gave us headpat. The best kind of action anyone can give to comfort someone in their troubled times. Plus, she provided us useful information on the concept of Descenders, save us from Dottore, help us against Shouki no Kami, warn us about the threat of the top 3 Harbingers, neutralize all of Dottore segments for us.
Zhongli gave us an hour long education. Nothing useful so far.
Venti gave us wine. We are not drinking age yet for some reason. So it's useless.
Ei gave us an epic beatdown. Twice.
Furina gave us macaroni.

Raiden will always be top archon for me.. Strong willed, wise as a warrior, protective of her people even to the detriment of herself, great leader and war hero..
Zhongli comes very very close second with his exceptional wisdom and protectiveness of his people, his integrity and discipline, and his willingness to work with allies.
Furina comes third for her self sacrifice and modesty in the face of the upheaval she faced.
Venti and Nahida take the final spots for their compassion, gentleness and understanding of the masses.
Each of one of them has a certain thing to then I like, but Venti is just great. He's backstory cutscene is still one of my favorites and I think it's what captures Genshin Impact as a whole.

He truly represent his ideals in how he sees freedom, and despite that he self-sacrifices for to protect them because he Loves them. He’s smarter than people want to think and He believes in accountability, for himself and the traveler, in story. He’s not just a drunkard, he likes the taste and stays where he can live with his people. Yea he hides, but it’s for their sake, not his. And he’s willing to do give up his disguise if it isn’t going to hurt their beliefs. He’s mysterious, but cautious. He doesn’t say everything he knows cause he’s not sure what he knows and if it’s smart to tell it. This is a wise leader, some things you have to keep close or risk harm to those you care about. He weighs himself down with that responsibility but it’s resentful or burdened by it

Her understanding is flawed. It doesn't matter if she was aware of it or not, the fact that a civil war was waged inside Inazuma is proof enough that she knows jack shit about ideals.

From a Realistic point of view, none of them are ideal rulers.
I never implied that her understanding was perfect, it was just realistic. She understood the task better than others, Zhongli pre-corrosion is probably the only other archon who had any idea on how to run a country. Other's are just vibing.

Focalors did this to collect and accumulated Indemnitium to destroy the hydro archon throne. The drama house amplify the emotions and beliefs, stronger emotions/beliefs = more indemnitium.

As archons? Nahida and Venti. I say Venti because I enjoy his character the most in the rare occassions we see him guide his people. As for the entire character, Nahida, Furina and Zhongli.
Furina. I've loved everything about her since she was introduced.
However, she may be dethroned as my favorite by the Tsaritsa if everything we've heard about her turns out true.
We don't know much about her, but there are a few things in particular that we know that make me incredibly hyped for her, like what Dainsleif says:

Aside from in-game information, there's also the fact that the Tsaritsa will most likely be at least somewhat based on Bronya from Honkai due to the the Tsaritsa literally being referred to as "Bronya the Tsaritsa" in an early build of the game. Bronya is one of my favorite Hoyoverse characters, so I absolutely want this to be true.
as a character i like zhongli the most but if i were gonna choose one to be my god it'd probably be nahida. if her design wasn't stereotypical ancient loli then she may be my overall favorite.

Nahida knowing full well exactly what the prophecy entailed (confirmed by her dialogue) and not telling us shit really grinds my gears. Had she just said "ayo there's gonna be a big whale in Fontaine so watch out" we could've gathered help from the adepti and possibly even Venti/Zhongli, beaten the whale without needing any suicides, and saved a whole lot of people from drowning
You're all here calling Furina an archon when the entire story of fontaine was about her struggles as a normal human and having to keep up the charade Focalors forced upon her. The point behind her character is that she NEVER was the archon.
I wouldn't say she never was.
Archons are not devoid of humanity. Neither Focalors nor Furina were considered the hydro archon, the one holding the title was Furina with her divinity, they just split in two.
So it's not unreasonable to use Furina as an archon if only to judge a favorite character, she's a part of the hydro archon and considered as equal to the other archons in game and by marketing.
Plus we have nothing else left of the hydro archon except this "human part of the hydro archon".
It's not as if we aren't judging other archons based on their human self (=relaxed self when they're not being cool and godlike) personallity.
Tldr: We need someone and Furina is the incomplete hydro archon remains so it passes ig.
Nahida is definitely my favorite. I love her personality and her desire to dive deeper in search of knowledge. Zhongli comes in a very close 2nd for me though. He knows way more than he lets on, especially given his age, and I'm so curious to know what he's not telling us.
If you would have asked me before I did her side missions, well I probably will said Raiden because hot. BUT I love her even more now, coming out of eternity and eating street food and going "huh maybe Im the one that needs to change" is such a refreshing change.

Nahida. She's easily the most empathetic of the archons. She doesn't live in a fantasy world of her own making, and instead she goes out of her way to interact with her people in a sincere and caring manner. In second place is Furina. She put her nation before her own needs, each and every time.
Raiden today, guaranteed Fire archon if it's Himeko. Surely they're saving the best for last. And Himeko deserves it she's been given the short end of the stick in the Honkai universe while Raiden is still top tier.
My favorite is the now ex-Archon Furina. That feeling of having to be someone else for what feels like eternity and for the sake of keeping things together is very in line with my own experiences.
Seeing her liberated from the Archons throne and enjoying life as a normal person was the first thing to make me genuinely cry while playing this game.
By this time I just know that Raiden will forever be my favorite. If even Furina, whom I loved since her design first leaked like a year before her release and it just kept growing as the AQ proceeded, couldn't top her, I don't think anyone will.

Venti for sure.The thing is as a anime watcher i love crafty and smart characters like all of you guys.And probably no one going to deny this ; all of his dialogues is feels like he is playing chess.He is giving the puppet master vibes and also so fucking silly.
As archons? Nahida and Venti. I say Venti because I enjoy his character the most in the rare occassions we see him guide his people. As for the entire character, Nahida, Furina and Zhongli.
Furina. I've loved everything about her since she was introduced. However, she may be dethroned as my favorite by the Tsaritsa if everything we've heard about her turns out true.

We don't know much about her, but there are a few things in particular that we know that make me incredibly hyped for her, like what Dainsleif says: >She is a god whom no one will love ever again; > >She is a god who will never love anyone again. And what Tartaglia says: >Her Royal Highness the Tsaritsa is actually a gentle soul. Too gentle, in fact, and that's why she had to harden herself. Likewise, she declared war against the whole world only because she dreams of peace. Finally, there's an interesting quote from the Tsaritsa herself: >Sorry... to also have you shoulder the grievances of the world. > >Since you could endure my bitter cold, you must have the desire to burn? > >Then, burn away the old world for me. I'm very interested in learning the context for this quote. Aside from in-game information, there's also the fact that the Tsaritsa will most likely be at least somewhat based on Bronya from Honkai due to the the Tsaritsa literally being referred to as "Bronya the Tsaritsa" in an early build of the game. Bronya is one of my favorite Hoyoverse characters, so I absolutely want this to be true.

as a character i like zhongli the most but if i were gonna choose one to be my god it'd probably be nahida. if her design wasn't stereotypical ancient loli then she may be my overall favorite.
I have 2: Raiden cuz I love purple, she's a badass power house and Basicially what you typiclially would think of how a god is. And my sweet little adorable radish that hits all the sweetspots in terms of shear cuteness

Ei and Venti, can’t really narrow it further between them. Two Archons on very opposite sides of the personality scale - but they’re my two faves by a massive margin, no contest.
Raiden all the way. idk, she is just very... "follow-able" as a leader and god. Let eternity reign for all time.

Nahida knowing full well exactly what the prophecy entailed (confirmed by her dialogue) and not telling us shit really grinds my gears. Had she just said "ayo there's gonna be a big whale in Fontaine so watch out" we could've gathered help from the adepti and possibly even Venti/Zhongli, beaten the whale without needing any suicides, and saved a whole lot of people from drowning

You're all here calling Furina an archon when the entire story of fontaine was about her struggles as a normal human and having to keep up the charade Focalors forced upon her. The point behind her character is that she NEVER was the archon.

I wouldn't say she never was. Archons are not devoid of humanity. Neither Focalors nor Furina were considered the hydro archon, the one holding the title was Furina with her divinity, they just split in two. So it's not unreasonable to use Furina as an archon if only to judge a favorite character, she's a part of the hydro archon and considered as equal to the other archons in game and by marketing. Plus we have nothing else left of the hydro archon except this "human part of the hydro archon". It's not as if we aren't judging other archons based on their human self (=relaxed self when they're not being cool and godlike) personallity. Tldr: We need someone and Furina is the incomplete hydro archon remains so it passes ig.

Nahida is definitely my favorite. I love her personality and her desire to dive deeper in search of knowledge. Zhongli comes in a very close 2nd for me though. He knows way more than he lets on, especially given his age, and I'm so curious to know what he's not telling us.

If you would have asked me before I did her side missions, well I probably will said Raiden because hot. BUT I love her even more now, coming out of eternity and eating street food and going "huh maybe Im the one that needs to change" is such a refreshing change.

Nahida. She's easily the most empathetic of the archons. She doesn't live in a fantasy world of her own making, and instead she goes out of her way to interact with her people in a sincere and caring manner. In second place is Furina. She put her nation before her own needs, each and every time.

Raiden today, guaranteed Fire archon if it's Himeko. Surely they're saving the best for last. And Himeko deserves it she's been given the short end of the stick in the Honkai universe while Raiden is still top tier.
My favorite is the now ex-Archon Furina. That feeling of having to be someone else for what feels like eternity and for the sake of keeping things together is very in line with my own experiences. Seeing her liberated from the Archons throne and enjoying life as a normal person was the first thing to make me genuinely cry while playing this game.
Raiden. The second place will be all the others as I love them all, they all are great.

By this time I just know that Raiden will forever be my favorite. If even Furina, whom I loved since her design first leaked like a year before her release and it just kept growing as the AQ proceeded, couldn't top her, I don't think anyone will.

Nahida. But I loved Raidens image the most, she seemed like an actual archon who gave order and intimidating. But I don't like her for the terrible shit she did to her people that's unforgivable. Third is Zhongli or Furina.
