It's always good to see good instincts.
This is in stark contrast to my nieces and nephews, who would have to be burned at least once before they stop trying to catch it.
I'm pretty sure that they borrow their brains from their parents.
Humans, generally speaking, are not as smart as we think we are. We just found ways to spread the load.
Reminds me of my nephew when he was little. He burned himself on a hot oven door once (despite warnings, of course) and since then when someone said "don't touch it, it's hot!" he made such a hilarious face and made sure he was asfar from the hot thing as possible
This brings back memories. Before our children learned to talk, we taught them to sign words. Not real sign language. One of them used a round, wide open mouth as the sign for “hot”. It still makes me smile to think about it, more than 15 years later.
I love my cat but she is a complete twit. You can't leave any unguarded candle alone as she keeps attacking them. She has gotten slightly burnt before but never learns
I have a enclosed fire pit and I was craving roasted marshmallows so I started a fire. My dog stays as far as she can from the flames. I think she doesn't like the smoke.
My cat didn't respect candles. Literally walked over a candle on a table and singed a bunch of her fur and had to be yeeted (yote?) Off of the candle because she didn't notice or care.
Part of.me thinks she's dumb, part of me thinks she just enjoyed the warmth.
(not an expert but) they don't see it red or orange as they just don't see red or orange, lookup feline color spectrum, but they definitely see it even if not the same colors. They also see some infrared so they would see more of the fire actually, but maybe nothing as clear as our bright-orange flames in terms of contrasts.
they'll also be better at sensing heat and smelling smoke.

or turn into a void cat
First r/dustkitties then r/voidcats
Good bby stay back
Looks like they were watching the flames go up and were then like, "Nooope."😄
Smart kitty.

"At least" Ah, kids, how did they ever survive to become adults?

First time I had a candle lit, my Vela got a bit too curious and singed her whiskers. She knows better now
we gave up real candles as the girls had no idea where they kept their tails. And there was also an eyebrow or two.
Yea because you know they don’t have full control of it right? They’re not monkeys i could’ve told you that
I think all our cats have curled their eyebrows or whiskers at least once, because they were too interested in a candle 😺

If you pause at the first frame he looks like a little shopkeeper
He has wares if you have coin
Everything at his little shop is 4 Dabloons each
He has wares if you have treats*
Aww. You're right. He's running a little shop of goodies.
Paws? 🐾 /ᐠ•́ܫ•̀ᐟ\ 🐾
"A room made of warm? Ooo, too much warm in that room.'
Who else was holding their breath?
definitely a r/nononoyes moment
I was scared for the baby!! Good thing he’s smart! 🥰🧡
some smols just want to watch the world burn
He's an agent of chaos!
Such a cutie little arsonist!
I love my cat but she is a complete twit. You can't leave any unguarded candle alone as she keeps attacking them. She has gotten slightly burnt before but never learns
"What sorcery is this?!"
That is one cute kitten!
Nope. No thanks.
Smart baby, knows not to get too close 😀
Is this inside? Doesn't seem too safe to have it burning without anything in front of it in case something would happen to escape.
You'd think that a fire guard would be around the fireplace, to protect the kitten from possible burns.
Kitty is so adorable aww
ofc he knocks something over by accident
That makes me nervous. What happens if kitty gets a little too rowdy around the open fire like that?
So very baby 😻

What a tiny scientist!
That ball of fluff is just too cute, I can’t take it 😩😩🥰
Every Hanukkah my grown-ass cat tries to immolate himself. Last year I finally caved and got electric candles.
Smart kitty
Cute marshmallow didn’t want to turn into a crispy marshmallow!

Humans when Prometheus brought us fire:
Whew! I was a little worried that he'd spend one of those extra lives to investigate a little further! Smart baby!
Future arsonists
Why even film the kitten so close to fire?!!?!?
I heard cats can’t see fire only smoke? Is this true?

This is beyond irresponsible and disgusting.

Tf wrong with you
My silly cat singed his whiskers!
Super cuteness. Whats the name of your precious baby
Good Kitty!
NEDM
Why the fuck could the kitten get that close it made me so damn nervous
He'll get his whiskers singed and then learn to avoid that fire...
It’s ok baby kittie! I would be scared too. Adorable little fluff ball! 🖤😻🖤
Aww!!
No open flames here, I will not take the chance!
Caution is good, but hopefully they will come to understand the ancient role of cats on hearths ;3
Clever bebe! 🐾🐈💕
OMG how precious! So tiny but also perfectly proportioned and with that perfect white coat.
Exactly what my little girl kitty did. Her brother, on the other hand, he was just terrified and stayed faaaar away.
That’s irresponsible
