When I had it, I started a topical steroid in late March and didn’t see my nail growing until May (7 weeks?). Didn’t see the old nail emerging from the proximal fold until mid-June. Didn’t see the cuticle return until almost 1 year later (following March). It was a SLOW process
Oh my God, so like verrryyy slow! How long did you take the topical steroid for? And when I press the nail some mild pain is still there. How long until pain is entirely gone?
Topical steroid for 5 weeks, which was way too long because it was high potency (clobetasol). I probably should have only used it for 2 weeks because I had some skin thinning. Pain went away really quickly, within a week or two.
Was half of your toe red and swollen and super painful to touch? It’s getting where certain shoes I can’t wear because of pain.
Sorry for not seeing this earlier. I had to stop closed shoes altogether for a month and I was ok. Still can't wear certain hard sneakers

When do you start applying the steroid after nail removal?

Thanks, I will wait until then to start then.
