CtheSilverSoul

I truly find the difference in people’s experience with glitches/performance in this game fascinating. You’d think everyone would have the same issues, but it seems like no two games perform the same

Unknown_Nexus535

Every copy of Pokémon scarlet and violet is personalized

CtheSilverSoul

You’d certainly think so with the different ways it runs

Lost_Environment2051

This is the truth and there is no way to convince me otherwise

Silent-Winner-8427

My game has The Larry Apparition in it

CTchimchar

My game lag and crash several times Also I managed you somehow softlock myself, the first time I went into the big city that I'm forgetting the name of It's the one with the academy

DroolingDerp24

motorola

Banjovious

Blackberry

TheLoneH1

Mesagoza

AwesomeSkitty123

Meanwhile I've experienced none of that.

Chinchilacage

I personally only had lag, and my brother clipped through some walls and had the game crash on him. Was funny af to watch but still

JuanPablith0

I have never gotten a bug or a glitch in my case

pokemonmaster2682

My game has almost never lagged

Ghidorah28

The closest I had was a bit of lag when I jumped over an area with (guessing the reason here) a little too many pokemon

Zequax

its like shiny luck

ExplinkMachine

I’ve had one glitch and that was one singular stump having no top-texture Literally nothing else was buggy other than lag

tronixmastermind

It does run fine, but that doesn’t mean it runs good

Elitelapen

Scarlet and violet are like that one shit box car. They run weirdly sometimes good, sometimes less good but rarely perfectly. But you would never sell or get rid off it for weird affection.

tronixmastermind

It’s my shitty Honda civic of Pokémon games lol

trnelson1

Rachel. Only the water areas like Casseyora lake and occasionally the Terrarium lag

LightningBoat

Don’t forget Lagtree Thicket (but besides that they were only bad in the first 2 weeks or so)

trnelson1

I've never had issues there

HolyElephantMG

Lagtree Thicket’s been fixed for me

TheRealNallend

got the game day one and spun the joysticks in opposite directions and managed to get my dood completely off the screen…it needs some performance updates

HeadHorror4349

Or maybe just don't do weird things once you've established they cause issues

Fun-Ad-4729

The worst I’ve had is my camera clipping through the ground on one evolution.

KingdomOfNerdz

I'm Spongebob. I really enjoyed Pokémon Scarlet

Consistent_Yak_2648

Rachel I've had no glitches so I don't know

GrimunTheGr8

I mean they’re functional, as in you can play them. But the graphical errors and the slowdown make that REALLY hard and annoying. I used to think they weren’t a big deal, then I played the indigo disc. Honestly it’s not unplayable, but it’s unacceptably bad.

HeadHorror4349

I never had any noticeable lag you must be playing wrong. Turn your camera away from the water and its fine

GrimunTheGr8

So first of all there’s water like, everywhere. Rivers and lakes are all throughout the region. Secondly, a game that function properly shouldn’t need to have the stipulation for it to run well with no lag. Thirdly, if you’re telling me you haven’t seen ANY lag at all, then I don’t believe you played it at all. The most recent example is during the final battle of the newest DLC that released this week, it has a ton of people in the background moving at the same time, and all of the animations like terastalization CHUGGED. It’s good that you apparently didn’t have that experience, but it’s all over youtube, and the lag isn’t even the worse part. Graphical issues and pop-in models are more common. Just look up some gameplay, it’s ALL over youtube.

Worldly_Society_2213

The alternative is a limited frame of reference. E.g. until I got a ps5 I didn't see massive differences in graphics in games. Now it's really obvious to me

thisaintmyusername12

Rachel

Unusednewspaper

I've noticed those who dont do the multiplayer experience less bugs, am I right or nah?

SuperKami-Nappa

That’s why I’ve heard, and it would explain why I’ve barely had any problems

Soft-Hamster-4525

Rachel, i’ve experienced little to no bugs

Altruistic_Ad6666

I'm 100% convinced that it has to do with the age of your switch. If you have an older switch from closer to release like one of my best friends, the game lags to shit. If you have a newer switch like I do, the game runs perfrctly fine.

Magical__Entity

Rachel during gameplay. Ross during cutscenes.

Lil_Rascal2

I have over 575 hours on Pokémon Violet, I've completed Paldea and Kitakami's Pokédexes, almost completed Blueberry's, I have completed the main story of the base game and both parts of dlc and finished the Epilogue yesterday, in all of that time I've only seen one glitch. on day one of the game's release. I fell through the stairs in Mesagoza while trying to take a photo with my starter, the game has never lagged and I haven't seen any glitches since that one

beeteedeeMEME

This is basically my experience, but I had my only glitch be falling through a rock, and I also remember abusing a glitch found online to give me like, 30 Master Balls through Miridon.

Caliber70

It runs fine but the raids are a joke. The ross' must be online raiders.

TheSezenians

Define "runs fine", I can barely walk or the textures/frame rate takes a vacation... The special features and overall new Minigames are the only things that save it for me

Caliber70

It literally runs fine for me. So you disabled game updates hehe.

BreadStuck-

I was gonna make a combination of rachel and ross but i realise the only reasonable name is rachel or ross again

EdowSoul

Rochel and Rass

mewtwosucks96

Funny. And the combination name for Ross and Rachel can be Emma.

BreadStuck-

That works

Toby0076

I have not had 1 singluerlar glitch or major lag spike yet so i'm just lucky ig.

ChaosKinZ

Objectively they run very badly. It's not a "Well I think", "But in my experience" kind of issue. They are poorly optimized and filled with bugs, visual glitches and poor performance issues.

WeebInTheGutter

Exactly, the amount of times people have said the game runs fine is insane man. Those games are like the sonic 06 of the modern console generation

Ambitious-Charge7278

They are fun games with good story. They are enjoyable. They are not good games

Hollow-Potato-knight

Scarlet and Violet played just fine for me, although sometimes when I play with someone my Miraidon is invisible.

IndividualDoor1617

I’ve had no issues besides lag and getting softlocked during a copperajah raid. Other than that my experience has been amazing.

Generic_animegirl

as someone who prefers docked mode it's ross, I just have bad eyesight so handheld is difficult

Anonymouscr0w

I'm just pissed about the uniforms. They're so ugly and you can't change out of them!

Commercial_Night_438

You can

Lucky_655

They meant you can't wear something else aside the uniforms or your Kitakami clothes

wecouldbethestars

guys… ross. did we not play the same game or what

The_Smashor

This isn't a matter of "think". They kinda objectively run badly.

Nintendo-Player_1297

Definitely Ross. I can't take those fanboys.

LukeDLuft

Rachel. The game’s run perfectly fine for me, with only one real game-breaking glitch out of the hundreds of hours I’ve played.

hornystoner737

Considering I can’t go on Miraidon without the entire game slowing to a snails crawl and Pokemon flickering in and out of existence…. And that’s before I dash.

beeteedeeMEME

Skill issue.

hornystoner737

Not sure how it classifies as a skill issue but ok

Happy_Register_9021

For a game made by such a huge company, and being part of like the biggest game franchise, being on the switch so not being the BEST of the best graphics, and being a mostly offline game, you would expect better.

William_ghost1

I think the only major bug I had was an error in world loading where it failed to render the world after appearing from a tera raid battle. Harmless and was fixed by turning it off and back on again.

Insan3Giraff3

I never experienced a single major glitch, and I have like 40ish hours on the game. The graphics were the only problem I had.

Strange_Kiwi__

They run fine

WontedPuppet07

The game runs fine they’re just being whiny babies

HolyElephantMG

They run fine.

MoistCharIie

your switches must be dogshit if they’re not running scarlet and violet fine

Cool_Kid95

Rachel. It just makes the switch’s exhaust port blow hot air, which feels nice on my face

mewtwosucks96

I'm getting a lot more Rachels than I expected. I thought this comment section would be Ross City.

Cold_beans32

People seem to think liking this game is an unpopular opinion

beeteedeeMEME

Rachel

FirstCurseFil

I think I’ve had only like 2 game crashes so far? Aside from that, just the frame drops

KitFlame42

They run fine for me other than a few fps drops

Strawberry_Sweet3

Admitting that they are good games and admitting they run well are two different things. The games are definitely really fun and enjoyable to play, but they do glitch much more than they should and the game looks like it was released alongside the ps2

LochyOtter

Rachel

SuperSonic486

Im with mikey on this one

[deleted]

[удалено]

WeebInTheGutter

Then why does BOTW run well on the switch, despite being older and looking a lot better? Scarlet and Violet run like ass mate, it's not the switch its the fact that the game is very badly optimized

BubbleRocket1

Gonna have to go with Ross. I enjoyed my time with the games, but I literally saw frame drops on the credits on my Switch Lite.

KingOfMasters1000028

Nah man. People need to play a proper JRPG from the Persona, SMT, or Final Fantasy franchises if they think Scarvi has ran good.

DarkSpiderMan21

Ross, all the way. But I’m still gonna play then because i love Pokémon.

Firkraag-The-Demon

I’d say Rachel. The game functions well for what I need it to. Sure some pedestrians have movement problems when viewed from a distance, but that’s not really a dealbreaker for me.

[deleted]

The game is great, just poorly optimized. If it could at least run 30fps consistently like swsh, it would be the best games in the series

ChildhoodDistinct538

They run perfectly fine, but for the time, they could run way better.

Agudaripududu

Rachel. I’ve never really noticed any problems when I played

RavenousToast

I’ve played through them 4 times and I’ve never seen a glitch, but definitely Ross because good lord do I get the opportunity to truly cherish every frame.

MegaLuigi576

Despite their performance issues, I think they run perfectly fine.

Wiher-

I didn't had any problems with the game only sometime I had potato graphics

yaillbro

I've honestly found legends arceus to be worse, I crashed after catching a hisuian zorua once lol

Nebulon-A_Rights

Anywhere with water is a threat, but over recently gotten lag spikes in the rain and even just...random areas in Paldea and Kitikami.

AwefulFanfic

I'm definitely Rachel. I also only play in handheld mode, so take that how you will. I only ever experienced some lag in the big watery areas.

PossibleAssist6092

Rachel I’ve only ever seen the “unplayable framerates” when it rains heavily and even then it only drops about 5 fps.

Jake_Rolfer_Studios

Rachel

Clickclacktheblueguy

I heard that the way you play it affects how it runs. Cartridge in portable mode is optimal, download and console play is worse. I only really ever tried the former.

Shamisen250

On my playthrough surprisingly I found no glitches other than the blj or too much lag so when the game first came out and everyone was saying how glitchy it was I didn’t understand what the problem was. I still haven’t found anymore glitch or much lag but I’m still a part of the Ross camp because of all the things I’ve seen.

Hypercane_

The game is good but it runs like garbage. If you aren't in Area Zero. If there are too many character models on screen they move on 2s, if you are facing the wrong way in a battle it's slowed to a crawl until the camera moves to a different angle. The game is definitely better than sword and shield but at least with those they ran fine.

LloydTCK_YT

I’m kind of in the middle. The game has ran fine for me other than the lag in watery areas and me accidentally clipping out of the map in Area Zero once

CompletelyCrazy55

Mine has crashed on me like.. twice, other than that I’ve had no problems

South_Adagio3198

Rachel. In my first play through I didn’t run into bugs but occasionally had like one to two time to time but besides the bugs I enjoyed the games

Kanjorax

I’ve never seen any of the big glitches people have mentioned. The worst I seen is lag and ground textures shifting. But, unless you are a stickler for graphics then that doesn’t ruin the gameplay too much. I didn’t even notice the shifting textures during my playthrough. I only noticed it after I finished the base game post game

JosukeisMySon

Other than one time when I was fighting Ghastly underneath the ground, I didn't have any major glitches.

SuperCat76

Rachel. They ran fine, not great, but fine. no major bugs happened to me, just one visual glitch during an early cutscene. one crash after an extended play session pre patches. It can definitely be better, but it was not what I would consider as bad.

WiglyPig

I think people have the wrong idea on how glitches and performance issues work. Which and how frequently they happen is determined by alot of different things, age of hardware, current game state, general luck I think and some other stuff. I think this makes it so no 2 copies run the same. So this means that it could run fine for one person, and horribly unplayable for the other. And heres the kicker, if 10 percent of the players had fine copies and 90 percent had very faulty copies, then those 10% dont get to say that the games performance is fine/good/good enough, as they are the exception in this case. Which is what I think is going on with S/V

BirbMaster1998

I think I only ever experienced noticeable lag when I was in Cascarafa during a sandstorm

Emeraldninjalink

S&V’s story and map and some Pokémon was good. Its performance sucked, the raids are unfun, and all the shiny pokemon are awful. It wants you to stop playing, at least that’s how I feel.

blumaroona

From personal experience - they don’t run great, but they run fine. I’ve had minimal issues, mostly lagging, bar one big crash where I lost a lot of progress annoyingly - but a lot of games sadly crash now and then these days. But I’ve also seen videos and images online of glitches I haven’t had myself that are awful and shouldn’t be in a “finished” game. It runs fine on average. But it should run better than fine.

According-Cobbler-83

It runs amd looks fine. Hell, I would even go as far as to say it has better graphics than most games on the ps1.

TicklesTimes

all i remember is being very disappointed in the rendering and general movements/ sprite look in s/v compared to arceus which was the last game i played. and now that i've played i still have a lot of issue with lag and i hate the way the sprites get hexagonal when entering battle most of the time

Talohighflyer24

My opinion is that, mine is less glitchy, but still I think that they need to put out a performance patch at least.

AnxietiesCopilot2

It runs okay, does it run good haha no its like running genshin on a phone does it function yes, will your phone explode, maybe

Endermen123911

Rachel

Gianth_Argos

More a Rachel. I’ve had a rare few issues, but I didn’t encounter any of them in my initial play-through.

Paintrain1722

If you don’t care about moderate lag and low textures, the game is great. If you do care, it’s not great

ANBpokeball

I'm kind of in the middle on this issue. I think that Scarlet and Violet run fine as is, but they could also run much better. I haven't really had any personal problems with glitches, but the frame rate and the models can be a bit slow and chunky at times.

Revolutionary-Alps-6

I cant turn my camera without the entire game chugging down to around 15 frames... God forbid there is water anywhere on screen.

Lumathran

Ross, but I’m not an ultimate hater of the game because of it. S/V has been the most fun I’ve had with a video game in the last 5 years

TheBonus1996

At this moment they run fine but in the release oh boy

RossiSvendo

I think that while they have problems, they don’t typically hamper the gameplay that much. If at all it’s a very brief slowdown when moving very fast. To me. It does little to hamper my enjoyment of the game.

novelaissb

They’re good games that run like shit

JCSwagoo

I haven't experienced a single glitch. I still don't like it.

novelaissb

They’re good games that run like shit

kdiyargebmay

i have really only run into like, 3 glitches. the wall pokemon, the pokeball not being polished when rolling under the water (the smooth sphere stays still while the ball’s model moves) and miraidon simply disappeared while i was still able to ride it, but i may have just positioned the camera to clip it out. everything else works fine. ive not found any frame rate issues, or graphical bugs, or anything game breaking

bigman_121

Who?

Username169420

The story is exceptional though

actuallyjustloki

I think it looks and performs awful even if it didn't have so many glitches. It lags, the models clip into themselves, and during every cutscene right before the camera changes the screen shifts to the side for a split second (need I even mention the specific cutscene where at the very last darkened frame every model T-poses?)

AbLincoln1863

Most of the time it runs fine but then it will start chugging and I gotta look at what caused it. Trees? Lake? Pokémon spawning inside walls?

NightStar367891

I haven’t really run into any major glitches, just some lag and sometimes when I move too suddenly my character will glide across the floor for two seconds before going back to normal. It’s pretty funny to watch when that happens.

LineOfInquiry

They run poorly. The glitches are overblown but the performance is not. Still good games tho.

CyberLink20XX

I’m a Rachel. I just have fun with the game and the issues I encounter don’t really bother me too much

JakobDa1

Mixed bag. For me, the game runs fine in the water on my Switch Lite, and the only glitches are with models. On my regular switch, everything involving terrain and pokemon spawns makes the game almost crash pretty much every 10 minutes.

TwinJacks

I got it day 1. Was extremely disappointed, the story was the best its ever been. The game was so broken, my game crashed a couple of times during my single player playthrough, there were so many bugs, the game felt empty, the combat (after all these years, has finally grown stale for me). My disappointment was so immense, I kinda "quit" Pokemon. A decade of EV-trained Pokemon, and events and shinies, I kinda just abandoned them and unsubscribed to Pokemon Bank. 😅 I just been consistently been disappointed by Pokemon Games since SWSH. Now, I just lurk here & there.

Bigscarygangster

My game has only crashed once but it slows down every time I go to a new area or see the trade animation

_9965

Borh

FiftyShadesOfPikmin

I mean no disrespect to anyone with this comment, but I feel like some people are just ignorant to what bugs really are, either willingly or not. Some people may not be able to tell things like framerates and whatever, or don't see anything wrong because their game isn't doing the obvious giant stretchy human glitch. Other people might notice them but adamantly argue that they don't exist because their favorite franchise can't possibly make a poorly optimized game. Either way, I strongly suspect that everyone's game runs with some amount of issues, but not everyone knows it. Me personally? I can see it's a very buggy game. I haven't had any major or detrimental glitches in my experience, but I've noticed all the smaller things that aren't good. Does this make it a bad game? No, not at all. I loved it and enjoyed every minute. Enjoyment is subjective, performance is not.

AZDfox

I haven't had any issues. The worst that's happened is a bit of choppy frames of the lake.

Phoenix1500

I only got a few frame drops, and graphic glitches every now and then. But I had a Grafaiai in my team, so I just played along as if it was messing with the rest of my team and painting on them

space_is-great

Joey: it has some glitches

MissingnoMaster110

They run fine for the most part. I won't pretend they're perfect- Casseroya Lake and Tagtree Thicket come to mind. And if I had a nickel for every wild Pokémon I ended up catching in order to rescue them from the void, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. But they're a far cry from the unplayable disastrophe I so frequently see people call them, and I'm still able to play them and enjoy them immensely. Plus, I still have those two Pokémon I rescued from the void- a Garchomp and a Deerling. If I get four more I'll EV train them and make a team out of them.

MarkuZ_sama

Rachel !

blazeoverhere

i feel like the games run fine now, after they patched and tried to optimize the game, but a lot of people go by the first impressions of the game that they got

not_WD35

SV has performance issues and bugs. This is not an opinion, this is a fact.

SuperLuigiOnTheXBOX1

If SV didn’t pull a FNAF Security Breach and make every copy’s glitches, frame drops, freezes, and other stuff personalized, we wouldn’t be in this situation. Multiple people with a day 1 model Switch have performance ranging from absolute crap to “it’s playable.” They aren’t complete trash but they aren’t good for the largest media franchise in the world. If this was some tiny studio with like five dudes who just made games to learn and improve for fun then it’d be fine but this is a franchise everyone and their dead ancestors know and recognize. From a difficulty standpoint, it’s pretty easy and don’t give me that quote for the reasoning behind no battle frontier in ORAS because Ultra Necrozma exists and disproves the “we didn’t put (part of game) in because it’s be too hard” thing. It has good ideas and the Terastalize gimmick is great and adds another layer to competitive, but the rest of the game is plagued by the fact that it’s held together by prayers, tape, and gum. It’s been almost 28 years since gen 1 released and we don’t need a game that has code that was as poorly held together as gen 1 was.

VegetaFan9001

While it is laggy sometimes. I still would say as it runs badly. Specially since he never found any special glitch or game braking stuff.

JosuphHelgen

They run fine but aren’t great. They’re legitimately some of the best Pokemon games and they finally delivered on it being open world. Given another year to polish and they would’ve been the perfect Pokemon game. That said I had too much fun to want a year delay.

AvaPower18

I have experienced little to no glitches in Scarvio, aside from NPCs walking through my battles.

RemRealWaifu

A don't know waht games have played this comment section, i'm not referring to S/V, like what they play other than that, i don't own and never did anything Sony other than PS2 , and played almost every Nintendo console, now i own a switch, 3ds and Ds. So if even me saw the gameplay and Say It runs like shit i really have no idea what other people play usually, i don't care about 60 fps, but i have to remember hard to recall moments of 30 fps in this Pokemon game, i'm a huge fan, own at least a copy of every generation, i'm no new comer no a causal Pokemon fan, but i don't forgive S/V, if you had a solid 30 fps your entire playthrough good to you, i never got soft lock neither got glitches , but It lags and in the bioterrarium It got even worse

TheGrindedGamer

I thought the general opinion of that game is that it is good if it wasn't ruined by the graphics, bugginess and terrible optimisation of the game. Both that and the level design could have had some improvement.

Top-Occasion8835

Soo anyone else climb the mountain around area 0 then fall through it

charmasterj

My game never glitched but lag is there so im somewhere in the middle but closer to not that bad

Sb_2k4

Rachel

MasterOfChaos72

Haven’t played it myself but at this point I’m kind of convinced the game is like Skyrim where sometimes it’s completely fine and other times it breaks harder then sugar glass hit by a cannonball.

scaryboi42

It runs, but it's poorly optimized and the pop in is really bad when leaving a town

Forsaken-Argument802

It mostly just comes from the expectation. Pokemon is the largest franchise in existence. They have the means to create whatever they want essentially. I understand there's a lot of data to process every few seconds, but the code is still poorly optimized. And then the servers. Y'all we figured out how to do multi player with connection discrepancy over a decade ago. I love the games, I play violet every day. But God I know for a fact nintendo could have produced something more clean, they just chose not to

Smoky_Cave

Btw, calling the games “excellent if they ran well” is kind of insane. They would be subpar open world experiences IF they ran well. I can think of another POKÉMON open world game that is better than Scarlet and Violet by a country mile. And I can think of at least 20 open world games off the top of my head that are much much better.

Yonko444

Scarlet and Violet would probably be the best games released if it wasn’t for the amount of bugs and glitches they have. The stories alone make them a top tier Pokémon game.

LeatherEmbarrassed54

My game even occasionally freeze probably because the frame rate is so ass my fucking brain wants to hydraulic press itself

TerrorofMechagoji

My game has almost no issues at all, the only thing was that in the DLC my game shut down because I wasn’t connected to the internet

JJlaser1

I’ve only recently started to get lag in water, seemingly after indigo disk. Even lagtree thicket was fine. Any other bugs were stuff present in almost every open world game

Qcommenter

My game has ran fine ever since I got it. Ofc I’ve had small lag spikes here and there but I’ve had the game since a little bit after it came out and I never had issues with it

SilverEskDicordPeep

I'm on badge 13 right now and it's been working perfectly fine for me. But I do see where people who say it runs badly come from

NicolaiIV

I ran into no glitches and my game never crashed once. Now that being said on a technical level I can’t even being to describe the slow down, textures warping, lighting issues, characters move what seemed like 12fps, the game had great music and fun moments I won’t deny that but MAN it was rough to finish

timelessmoron

To the people who they it runs fine. Drop the Copium, please.

Hopeful-Base6292

It can get a tad laggy, but overall it’s fine

RulesOfImgur

I love them, AND I think they run like shit. They are good games but holy heck they could have optimizations and bug fixes

Origami_Gamer

Violet has never ran less than ideally for me. I did notice a couple slowdowns when loading new areas for the first time, but no real glitches or huge lag spikes.

MongolEmpire

They run ok but I still like the game

throwaway1994567890

Wtf is this unreadable font choice

No-Professional-5059

I haven't had any issues

Veteran_Moses

Rachel

Kiyoshi-Trustfund

Notice no one is saying it runs good. I think saying it runs fine is just stating that it's playable and the lackluster performance doesn't necessarily ruin anyone's overall fun.

Mymtngames25

Rachel. The only Problems I'm having is related to my Switch not the game itself

cattenchaos

it runs better than my old Dell Latitude CPi, so that’s something

the_fuego

It probably depends on how much you game/the quality of games and hardware you play. If all you play on is the Switch and all you play is S/V then you may think the game runs just fine. However if you play on basically, borderline literally, anything else, especially a higher end console or PC the game objectively runs like garbage and is poorly optimized. But even looking at the Switch alone games like Doom Eternal, Breath of the Wild/TotK, Legends Arceus run pretty well for the hardware provided so there's really no excuse for why it should be a stuttery mess. The game is simultaneously great in content and absolute trash in actual gameplay. There's no reason why anyone should say it's "just fine" because your bar for "just fine" must be pretty low.

Charcoal_01

Rachel. Easily. I have had one texture issue. That's it. It runs great for me. Even in water

HeadHorror4349

I'm not blind to the performance issues but I refuse to listen to anyone who uses that as sole criteria for judgement

JosephYorik

I'm gonna confess that I didn't get any issues when I played. I play on a switch lite if that may change some things.

Raijin3

I've run into maybe 3 noticeable glitches and no lag or studders

MegaKabutops

They 1000% do NOT run fine. Most of the bugs i’ve encountered have been of the amusing variety (the camera clipping through the ground during certain cutscenes, placeholder objects appearing in some cutscenes, like my lead pokemon in the party staring at the camera during raids or arven’s herba mystica sandwich cutscenes, or other players crazy frogging their boxart legendaries during friend circles). But most is not ALL. I still had a terrifying near-crash while playing through the indigo disk, and had encountered the same scenario at least once that i can recall prior to the DLCs dropping. And lag remains a permanent issue, ranging from “i’m dropping a couple frames here and there. I barely even notice” to, on a bad day, “i can get a better framerate from a flipbook”. Every issue i’ve had, mentioned or otherwise, has remained noticeably unchanged by patches. If they weren’t quite possibly the best in the series in almost every other area, i would have never bought the DLC, and would have stopped playing entirely. As it is, they have to settle for being a little above average in terms of overall quality for a pokemon game. It physically hurts me just how much better it COULD be, and i am EXTREMELY jealous of future PC gamers for the simple fact that, years down the line, the emulators for this game will likely include a massive bugfixing mod/patch to make it the best game in the franchise up to that point.

Kamikaze_Pig641

I like the games but I can’t pretend they are good

CJPF_91

You guys play scarlet and violet ?

tntgame8

I feel like the game work best in hand held mode it lag less and glitch appaer less the only point that stay the same is the 5 frame rate of the animation when the thing is 5 feet away

Gulthrazda

They’re more or less the standard for pokemon games. Being from the most profitable IP ever and how far video games have come they’re not great.

Able_Donkey2011

Bought both my switch (oled s/v edition) and s/v in a Pokémon centre/ store in Japan. Never had a single issue in the game but see so much online? Maybe it's an OLED buff? Maybe it's a location buff, but I'm Rachel for sure.

Comprehensive_Dog975

They don't *sometimes*

TheSleepyRobot

I used to be Rachel until I downloaded the DLC. Now I'm Ross. It sucks because I was so happy to be one of the few that rarely had lag (only had it in water, so I just avoided it). Now it's a constant looming threat :(

CommanderOshawott

They run like garbage and look like a PS2 game. They 100% deserve the low scores they got. If they weren’t Pokémon games they would have been eviscerated and quickly forgotten

Lilbacon77

I have yet to have a substantial visible or performance issue with my Scarlet copy. My only big issue has been the raid battles and even then it's only when I play online

SpectralIpaxor

Ross. I have had massive slowdowns and lag weird glitches like jumping and running into the ground with the jump model still going. During the epilogue, the fights at the end we're hella laggy when you pan so you can see your character due to the sheer amount of dancing in the back

OT_Gamer

Initially Ross, but now I’m leaning towards Rachel since they fixed some of the issues.

Mystical4431

Are SV fun games? Yes, I'd say so. Are Pokèmon SV held together by scotch tape twigs and string? Also yes.

Equal_Reality4263

Honestly I just had some lag and that’s it. Never seen any other bug they mentioned

RealPiggyPlayz

It’s fine, I’ve never even had lag

Busy-Ad4537

They are mid the dlc is were the good part is at also locking an epilogue behind a shotty limited time event is stupid and takes a ways alot of good points imo pecha runt should just be based dlc leave events and mystery gifts a thing of the past
