I hope he sues them for a huge amount of money. They took his life away in the most cruel way possible.

Unusual_Elevator_253

He was actually in for 29 years, she was just advocating for him for the past 20 (I’m guessing because she was a child)

RicefromtheJ

Man if something like this happens to me the only thing that would make me feel better is if someone’s lost their life seriously

LordOafsAlot

Just one, I'd eat the whole pack and go back for seconds hell if I make it through that sitting I'd probably go back for thirds too.

PythonPoop

I was in the Navy in a very dark command. I was where the Navy sent the fuck ups. People from other departments would get sent to live and work with us as punishment. The kicker was - I didn't do anything wrong. I just got placed there. It was four years of feeling hopeless. People don't understand what constant hopelessness and physical and mental abuse can do to you. People aren't able to comprehend mt four years of it - so I know they can't even fathom 20. People don't get what it is like to be trapped 24/7 in a Hell. Where you have no recourse at all.

Femboylover7600

Fired? This man was most likely raped multiple times in prison. I want to see the people responsible put in his situation

-Mr_Rogers_II

They need to be locked up for 20 years.

kekistani_citizen-69

*29 years

anasparekh

Agreed the let off is too easy for falls accusations

LordOafsAlot

Justice isn't perfect, but he was convicted by a jury and he had a trial. I know that doesn't sound fair, but no one actually promised anyone it would be, just fractionally better than an eye for an eye and a life for a life...

-Mr_Rogers_II

The fuck are you even talking about?

asdf333aza

No amount of money would make up for the literal decades of his life that they unjustly took.

Harsimaja

Yeah but it’s just a *man’s* life. That’s not worth as much, as we all culturally instinctively ‘know’

Fuzzy_Department2799

The fact that he was convicted by hearsay from two other family members is disturbing. There was no physical evidence and the little girl at the time never said it was him. After he sues the state he needs to sue those two people for defamation.

antifeminist3

Actually, Feminists have decided that they are entitled to control men's behavior. And men must do what the feminists have decided. after all, feminists themselves say it 'about power'.

aknabi

Yup to feminists he’s just collateral damage… and a useful example to keep the simps in line

Nevek_Green

This is why in any sexual charge your lawyer will tell you to plea out. As a man you'd better have god tier evidence of your innocence or you are screwed.

HamletsRazor

The system lets violent criminals out on house arrest. But a guy falsely accused of rape where even the victim is defending him gets 29 years in prison. Wonderful...

Ugaruga

You would think if the victim insists he wasn’t the perpetrator he would walk free.

FreeSpeechFFSOK

Obviously, you thought wrong. And this example is the tip of the iceberg.

conradfart

Not sure what happened to #believewomen there.

Aspiengineer

\#not this woman

OctanesLeg

#believewomen only matters to them when it antagonizes a man.

SodaBoBomb

Internalized misogyny

FreeSpeechFFSOK

Oh, I think they did believe women, just not the girl. The women in charge of her though, I am pretty sure this was steered by them. Someone raped that girl, and they probably know who. But they pinned it on the guy they didn't like.

asdf333aza

You underestimate how bias the system is against men.

CutiePie0023

Right!! Absolutely crazy

hendrixski

We learned nothing about judicial standards from the Salem Witch trials.

asdf333aza

Still going on to this day. Any woman could come out the woodwork and say you did something to her, and you may very well end up just like this guy. Jonathan Majors comes to mind. The blk guy from creed 3 and the new antman movie. He is being accused of beating his ex gf. Even though they have witness evidence and video of her minutes after the would be "beating, hanging out with friends and at multiple different clubs. Not a scratch on her btw. She then drunkenly BROKE INTO HIS HOUSE, called his phone 37 times and then passed out drunk in his house..... he arrives the next morning and calls the cops on her. And somehow, they accused him of assaulting her and made her out to be the victim. mind you she broke into this man's house. They even got a written statement from her saying he didn't hit her. Still going to trial. They got the cab driver as an eye witness saying he didn't hit her. Still going to trial. They got footage of her at clubs after the non-existent fight. Still going to trial. They got footage of her breaking into his house. Still going to trial. They got proof that he called the cops on her. Still going to trial. I don't if it's cause he's black or causes he has a penis, but it sounds like he did everything right and she did everything wrong and he is still losing endorsements and millions of dollars because of her lies. And no one gives a fuck cause if a female said he did it, he did it. Even if she admits she lied about it later on. He still did it.

[deleted]

Unbelievable.

asdf333aza

Yet, it's fucking true. This guy was a rising star and had his entire future essentially snatched from him by false accusations despite all this. The court case hasn't happened yet, but thats what we know about the situation thus far. They've requested to have the case dismissed, but the prosecutor is looking to make an example, it seems. It's like they don't care about evidence or proof. You get accused, you're guilty. End of story. Don't care about your proof or evidence that you didn't do it. Don't care if she was perfectly fine on multiple cameras after you last saw her. Don't care that she broke into your house. Don't care she called you 37 times. Don't care that the police threatened to punch you in the face even though you called the cops on her. They just don't care.

woodelf623

This happened to a man I know, except NO ONE was saying he did it. He was arrested because his toddler daughter said it hurt when he bathed her. What she meant, but wasn't able to explain until she was a little older, was that she had already been molested by a stranger - the bath irritated her injuries. His wife and family and friends all insisted he wasn't capable of such a horrible thing. He was released after 20 years.

hellraisinhardass

That is insane. It's stuff like this scares the hell out of me. Not only was that man in prison for 20 years, his daughter, who was rapes, doesn't even have her father to help safe guard her or comfort her...and the rapist is still free. I have daughters, I think I would actually go insane if I was caged up and unable to protect them. (Not to mention being labeled as a child molester, but that wouldn't even be my primary concern.)

woodelf623

I just looked up the case and I got the details wrong and it's actually worse than I remember. All they had was the testimony of a 5 year old, and she never conclusively named her father as the perpetrator. The evidence gathering was bungled and the DNA wasn't tested. He was imprisoned for 15 years, he was exonerated and released and got to see his daughter and newborn granddaughter, and then his conviction was *reinstated* and he was jailed again. The last piece of news I can find was 2018, when he was released on parole, and he wasn't allowed contact with the victim (his daughter). At that time, the Innocence Project was collecting evidence, and the DNA excluded him as the one who committed the crime, but they hadn't submitted it and started the legal battle yet. Just heartbreaking. ETA: The state took the kids from their mother too and they were raised by the man's sister.

Ok-Kaleidoscope1778

*The Fathers sister. Her aunt.

woodelf623

Yeah I just wanted to specify that it wasn't her mother's sister.

stopwalkinonmycookie

> and the DNA wasn't tested WTF!

-Mr_Rogers_II

They need to spend the same amount of time in jail as he did.

SuspiciousFoot9439

These stats are terrifying

-Blueberry-1

He better get millions for the many years he lost unjustifiably. Shit like this just pisses me the fuck off, The world isn’t safe for men anymore.

FreeSpeechFFSOK

Very strange and very chilling. So she was raped by someone else and it seems, no one cares who that person is. That it takes 100 letters from the victim to free the person not even accused by her is evidence of just what a complete farking insane world this is, with completely farking insane governments, completely farking insane so-called justice system and completely farking insane people running them and walking the streets. Just a nother fine example of why I have given up on the human race. Just to get one simple obvious point across en masse takes a superhuman herculean effort....and frankly, though I may not agree with authoritarian regimes on their policies, I certainly understand why they resort to brutality and murder.....this crap right here. Does not matter what it is....people don't think and they don't listen. Evil runs amok and people shrug. And if I seem hateful and resentful sometimes, this is why and I have endless other examples.

-Mr_Rogers_II

They need to lock up the 2 that accused him for as long as he was locked up. Maybe when women who falsely accuse men face actual consequences they will stop doing it.

disayle32

What was your breaking point?

Unusual_Elevator_253

So you’re upset the marriage age of florida was raised because one 13 year old girl married her cousin and didn’t end up divorcing? I don’t see how any of that has anything to do with mens rights

FreeSpeechFFSOK

Of course you don't understand. I made it perfectly clear I am upset about murdered children and you take it right back to teen sex cause that is all you can fixate on. You are exactly the type of person I am referring to. What does this have to do with men's rights? Nothing I was making a point of. I was asked a question and I am answering it. You can't even follow the conversation, yet you speak. Why can't people like you just figure out once and for all you don't what the hell is going on and then just continue to zip your lips accordingly?

Unusual_Elevator_253

Because that part was fucking insane so of course I pointed out the insane bit People like you are the reason people don’t take mens rights seriously

FreeSpeechFFSOK

>Because that part was fucking insane so of course I pointed out the insane bit Insane is murdering the little children of someone merely suspected of being a terrorist...if that bit is even true. Mostly I just see guys opposing American meddling and murder in their own countries. Then the United Snakes blows up their house when they aren't even home, and him coming back to find his baby's arms and legs in different corners of whatever is left. Also insane is for something to be perfectly normal for thousands of years and proven normal by science but the idiot masses need to have some group to crap on. And what makes it extra insanse is that all hetero men are attracted to at least some teen girls but are so cowed by feminazi crap they can't even just admit the attraction. >People like you are the reason people don’t take mens rights seriously No. People like YOU are. You cannot even make the connection between what I just said about men being cowed for what is naturally in their heads and their inability to assert their rights. You don't even have the mental capacity to keep focused on the point of murdered children because you have this stupid animal need to call other people's normal sexual attractions and normal behaviors insane...but its your own jealousy talking and you don't even have the ability to recognize it. You are exactly the type of person, majority though you may be, ruining the whole fricken world, socially, and the physical destruction as well, cause you can't even figure out what is driving your stupid destructive behavior...even when told precisely what it is. Edit: And I will take this back to school shootings too. Why the hell wouldn't a young man shoot up his school with people like you basically telling him he is insane for being attracted to his classmates, or a girl a few years younger than him? Cock blocking and confusing him with your stupid ideas about age and sex. You have no idea what you are doing to young men, yet here you are, talking about men's rights like you even care.

Sunretea

Dude.. you are big mad you can't legally fuck kids.

FreeSpeechFFSOK

>Dude.. you are big mad you can't legally fuck kids. I am mad that kids are getting murdered while imbeciles are too busy making stupid sexual accusations to even notice.

Sunretea

So because kids are getting murdered you should be allowed to fuck them? You might need some psychological help. Don't fuck kids just because other people are killing them. That doesn't make you the good guy. Edit: wait, what is your "solution" to the gun problem?

EmirikolWoker

> I made it perfectly clear I am upset about murdered children You spent a lot of time talking about how unreasonable it is to disapprove of the idea of having sex with children. Most of your comment was about that.

FreeSpeechFFSOK

I am generally talking about teenagers. Its people like you so obsessed with children you always have to make it about children.

EmirikolWoker

What age would you consider too young? How does it look compared to the law where you are? [Edit: that's a pretty damning radio-silence...]

FreeSpeechFFSOK

The more things change the more things stay the same. When I was young, in my area, Black and gay people were the Devil, and marijuana was the Devil's poison. Now gay and Black people and weed are okay, but "pedos" and Christians are the Devil, and cigarettes are the Devil's poison. Early 1900s, White people married to Asians and adulterers were the Devil, and alcohol was the Devil's poison. Most people out there are just nuckin futz. They don't learn, and part of the reason is they don't want to, because they enjoy being utter asshats to some group of people too much. Every type of bigot should get punishment until they either change or learn to shut up.

Sbarjai

It sadly isn’t that “strange” if by strange you mean rare.

FreeSpeechFFSOK

Indeed. I mean't "strange" as in logically unsound and unsettling. Downright disturbing in fact.

jokerfriend6

My BIL is in prison for false accusations. Their was evidence to prove she lied during court. The judge would not allow such evidence in the court. The court systems are set up not to let the falsely convicted out. Neighbor across the street had the same thing happen. This problem is rampant across the world.

Contranovae

The second most common profession that contains the most sociopaths is Lawyer. This combined with high conviction rates being desirable is why we have innocents in prison.

Generalmemeobi283

Oh bless you

01OlI1O0I

20 years... I don't think I'd have the strength to not unalive myself.

Jacob-B-Goode

Apparently he spent 29 in prison

PrimeWolf88

It's hard to fathom how someone can be convicted of a crime with zero evidence and then pleas for someone to look over the case from both the victim and the "perpetrator" can be ignored for over 20 years. That's criminal (no pun intended).

Soldier4Christ82

Welcome to America.

Kcufasu

Surely if the victim is considered sound mind and says someone didn't do something then that should be that. Not to mention it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty

UnconventionalXY

If you are guilty in a womans mind, apparently that's enough.

shonmao

I think in this case it was more of a case of simp cops and simp prosecutors.

Normal-Yogurtcloset5

This is beyond fucked up!

ThrowRAcq4444

I would file a federal lawsuit against the state for $29 million.

Sbarjai

And even assuming he presses charges against the people that wrongly accused him, all they get is a fucking fine. This man’s life is ruined, and they will, at best, need to down a fucking payment. There’s no real consequence to lying, and worse of all, being caught doing it.

Glum-Worldliness-919

Makes me wonder just how many false accusations are out there. Johnny depp's trails shade light on the deceptive ways of women.

asdf333aza

Jonathan Majors comes to mind. The blk guy from creed 3 and the new antman movie. He is being accused of beating his ex gf. She thought he was texting another woman, so she tried to take his phone and he wouldn't let her and he got out the car and left her. This all happened in a cab or uber. Even though they have the driver as witness evidence and video of her minutes after the would be "beating", hanging out with friends and at multiple different clubs. Not a scratch on from the multiple videos. She said Jonathan broke her hand? They have video her using two cell phones at once less than an hour after the fight. They have use at the club dancing with drinks in said broken hand. They have her opening doors with said broken hand. After a night out on the town she drunkenly BROKE INTO HIS HOUSE, called his phone 37 times and then passed out drunk in his house. He arrives the next morning and calls the cops on her. The cops convinced her that he assaulted her. Mind you he called the cops on her for breaking into his house. And somehow, they accused him of assaulting her and made her out to be the victim. Mind you she broke into this man's FUCKING HOUSE. They even got a written statement from her shortly after saying he didn't hit her. Sounds like he did everything right and she did everything wrong and he is still losing endorsements and millions of dollars because of her lies. And no one gives a fuck cause if a female said he did it, he did it. Even if she admits she lied about it later on. He still did it.

griii2

\> A 2022 study from the National Registry of Exonorations found that Black people are seven times more likely than white people to be falsely convicted of major crimes in the United States. This is quite probably correct, but I would like to know how much more likely are men to be falsely convicted compared to women.

TinyTwinz3D

The sentencing disparity between men and women is nine times the sentencing disparity between black and white.

RaiJolt2

And that an entire civil rights division had to be created in order for his case to be heard is just insane. But the division was created in 2020 so it still took years for this innocent man to get his freedom

anasparekh

20 years he will never get back, pay him as much compensation as you want but nothing is worth the time he lost

NobbyMk2

He is broken inside and nothing will change that.

icefire54

Feminists be like: "this isn't as bad as rape" Non feminists be like: "this and rape are equally bad"

NobbyMk2

rape is really bad and no one should have to go through that but i think 20 years in prison is worse. you lose everything, your friends your home your family. you sit every day knowing you're innocent and there's nothing you can do about it. 20 years of freedom turned into 20 years of hell. twenty years of mental torment, at least that would be torturous for me. this man is smiling at his regained freedom but i bet he's broken inside. I have read similar articles where the man committed suicide after his release.

bluepilledbetasimp

Unbelievable!!!

matrixislife

Read the article. It emphasises how badly she has been treated >“Having your voice being silenced is the worst feeling in the world,” the victim told the courtroom. I'd say being locked away for life without parole for rape of your stepdaughter when you're innocent has to be the worst feeling in the world. It hardly mentions his trauma, as a convicted paedo and rapist, that was far from the easiest 20 years.

BorgClanZulu

Women just have to tell their story. Men need to prove theirs.

Wasteofoxyg3n

This article should be shown to anyone still denying that false rape accusations are a common problem. I always hear something like "They have DNA analysis now, so any man who is convicted is bound to be guilty!" I am sick of everyone downplaying this kind of shit.

AshKetchep

I'm glad that he's out now, but the fact that it took 20 years for the truth to finally be heard is just sickening.

rapidfast

Sad for the girl who got raped as well because of his conviction the case was closed and thus she couldn’t get her justice form whoever really assaulted her

ButterSock123

I sure hope he gets a fat paycheck from the lawsuit

Fuzzy_Department2799

She was 7 at the time. She never identified him. Two other adult family members said he did it.

Seraph_Unleashed

That’s sick that some people will go to great lengths to ruin other people with false accusations.

belterith

It's worse they did it to protect the actual perpetrator.

Seraph_Unleashed

That’s even worse.

Noonbright

That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. 20 years, when the supposed victim herself is screaming that nothing happened

artichoke2me

Alot of victims go back and lie to exonerate their abuser specially if it was a parent or relative. Part of it could be they have forgiven them, family pressure, guilt.

jokerfriend6

All children are to be believed. Regardless of evidence.

ITSigno

> All children are to be believed. Regardless of evidence. This is a pretty dumb take, sarcastic or not. The child didn't accuse him. The adults did. And they didn't even have the girl testify. This was a case of two adults _claiming_ he did something with no physical evidence whatsoever. Meanwhile the person that actually raped the little girl walked free. But we should also not fall into the trap of believing everything a child says. Were they coached? Did the investigators lead the child to a conclusion? Are they mentally unwell? Sexual assault of a child is truly heinous, but this does not mean we should be in a rush to convict someone without adequate evidence.

jokerfriend6

It is somewhat a truthful take for many results. If I child says something to a school counselor that something happened, the counselors are coached to take the child word and automatically report to authorities. CPS WILL be involved and told to investigate with the notion the child is telling the truth, also chances are a DA will be involved to support the child. The adults surrounding the child gets PAID by the state to defend the child, and has the power to make their claims a reality, and yes fabricate evidence and coach the child. I don't like that this happens throughout my country.

ITSigno

Oh, if a child says something, then sure take it _seriously_, report to the necessary authorities, etc. That doesn't mean you should automatically believe the child but, yeah, you definitely shouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

jokerfriend6

And authorities will do the same.

UnconventionalXY

How much is it costing the State and therefore taxpayers to not only incarcerate innocent people but deprive the State of their contribution? Even at an economic level, people should be asking questions about this practice, let alone the ethical, moral, judicial and Constitutional implications.

jokerfriend6

They don't. The judicial system is all about rubbing each other's backs. In Texas we have privatized prisons so there is likely kickbacks. DAs are all about prosecution and they have agreements with many of the judges. Ethically it is wrong. I believe in Karma but getting out is close impossible once your in.

UnconventionalXY

However its all the people paying for this from their taxes: aren't they concerned about the sheer waste of their taxpayer dollars that are not being spent on actual services for them?

jokerfriend6

Judicial system is a business that takes taxes as income. They will come after and imprison people that come after them. It will take an act of congress to fix the problem.

asdf333aza

A child would tell their teacher you're abusing them if you don't buy them a pair of pokemon shoes. They are absolutely not to be believed.

jokerfriend6

We are talking about Courts Judges and DAs. They will turn on you, and say you are now grooming the child by buying them pokemon shoes to show what type of monster you are.

illnasty206

Its tough being a Black man, in addition to the racism we receive from Whites and other groups, we get misandry from White women, Black women, etc.
