It’s well documented that women receive lighter sentences. However just because male judges included in this particular sampling study gave men longer sentences, doesn’t mean the overall sentencing gap is caused by male judges. A correlation in a single sampling does not prove cause effect. I read one sampling study asserting employers prefer resumes with male names. Another identical study showed the exact opposite correlation, but you can guess which one feminists quote. One study showed female surgeons have a higher success rate. Delving deeper showed this is because it’s mostly male surgeons who take on riskier surgeries. If I flip a coin 100 times and get 60 heads, does it prove a bias towards heads? Maybe the next time I get 65 tails. It’s the same thing with this “study”: a one time sampling difference is not proof of cause-effect. Many, many studies of course document the sentencing bias. In England, judges were specifically told to be more lenient in women criminals.

Yep. Not criticizing you for posting. I’ve seen this “study” before and I think it’s at least as important to recognize faulty studies or propaganda as it is to discuss valid studies. Unfortunately when it comes to gender issues, there’s a lot of disinformation out there. It kind of reminds me of the one in four college women are raped disinformation. I’ll also add, that arguing about whether female or male judges are more biased is a distraction that misses the main point. There clearly is a bias which needs to be addressed through law school, continuing education for judges, performance reviews, etc. If further studies, do indeed prove male judges are more biased, it doesn’t really change the issue: We need to address the bias, the same being true of racial sentencing biases.

Women get much lighter sentences for almost all sexual crimes they commit. The most glaring example are female teachers who rarely end up in jail, unlike their male counterparts.

It is not just the age gap, it is an abuse of power. Also, double standards, a 30-year-old man having sex with a 17-year-old girl is the same as a 30-year-old woman having sex with a 17 years boy.

What has age got to do with someone being there for you? Someone is either there for you or not. Do you think men do not have experiences? I have been stalked by a 10 years younger girl, she has also attacked me a few times, she has even offered me money for sex. When I refused, she actually said she can offer more and how much is enough. If you think violence and inappropriate offers are problem only for women, you are simply wrong. As some men think women do not have issues getting attention and sex, some obviously do.

It literally says the opposite: > Our results indicate that women receive more lenient sentences even after controlling for circumstances such as the severity of the offense and past criminal history. This part is also interesting: > The findings regarding gender in the case of serious offenses are quite striking: the greater the proportion of female judges in a district, the lower the gender disparity for that district. I interpret this as evidence of a paternalistic bias among male judges that favors women.

>The findings regarding gender in the case of serious offenses are quite striking: the greater the proportion of female judges in a district, the lower the gender disparity for that district. I interpret this as evidence of a paternalistic bias among male judges that favors women. Even so, female judges still do have a positive bias towards female criminals, just less so compared to men. According to the u.s. government, gender is the biggest bias when it comes to criminal sentencing. The average white women receives a 27% reduced sentence for the same crime as a white man. For Asian women, it's 37% shorter. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.ussc.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/research-and-publications/research-projects-and-surveys/miscellaneous/15-year-study/chap4.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwj4wJLzuZ7_AhW7ElkFHXunCncQFnoECCAQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1Hls79yFDhUz5FJLZdFWRU
