These threads are so annoying. It’s like 4 times a day, can we consolidate them or something? This subreddit isn’t a travel guide for out of staters

warpigusa

No kidding

FlatBrokeEconomist

You are vastly overestimating the popularity of r/montana. 4 times a day? There have only been 10 posts in the last day, and 20 in the last 3 days. Exactly 2 of them are about things to do in the area from tourists. Reddit is a decent place to ask for real opinions from people about things you want to know about (travel, for example). There isn’t an overwhelming amount of tourists asking questions, and it isn’t something to get so upset about. Y’all should be thankful there are even people posting here at all.

rhollis1966

True…and the way we feel when folks ask questions about visiting #florida. But hey…the ability to ignore the post and move is tooo strong :).

Pitiful_Skin_7740

People want to visit your state. They want suggestions. What is annoying about that? If 4 posts a day on a subreddit really ruins your day, you need to change your day.

callmezara

you post the exact same shit lol

Pitiful_Skin_7740

Do I? I’ve posted three times, one of them about an apartment suggestion. I don’t understand getting upset at someone asking for travel suggestions in a state subreddit. Reddit has always been the place people go for actual advice from real people, just like your posts

“Clogs the sub” get fucking real it’s r/montana, there isn’t a whole lot going on to begin with.

Do a side quest to Red Lodge and the Beartooth Highway if you want to avoid the national park-level crowds and see some beautiful alpine scenery.

Ok-Argument-1015

Beartooth highway was a treat when I did that run. Amazingly beautiful!

knucky_7

Guess what it's still hot in Bozo that time of year, there's just less humidity than the armpit you call home. (Native Floridian, yes I know what the weather is like.) Throwing some cliche anecdotal statement in your question isn't going to make the locals want to respond to your queries anymore than basic questions that could be found online. Maybe you should consult the Google and put some effort into your trip planning rather than flooding this feed with annoying help me plan my trip questions. FFS (sorry... ish)

FlatBrokeEconomist

Hey, so I’m also from Florida, and moved to Idaho…not that far from your area. The heat you speak of is completely different. The sun is different. The temperature is different. Yea yea the actual temp may be higher than it is in Florida, but it’s not hotter. My first summer here it was 105 and people were loudly dying on the streets…and i was like “hey this is cool, almost like a spring day.” (I should also note that spring in Florida begins in February.) At 90 in Florida summer, you open the front door and you immediately start sweating and struggling to breath in the thick air. You of all people know damn well how different it is, and escaping Florida summer to go to Montana *is* escaping the heat. Weird how much it bothered you, actually. It’s not a knock on your new state or anything…if anything it’s a compliment. It’s saying you can actually go outside in the summer.

Ok_Director9132

Fellow Floridian here living in montana. This comment is so true. The shade here actually works!

flacidfeline

Montana is closed. Sorry.

bubli87

Lots to do around the area if you rent a car. Yellowstone, Beartooth Highway, Lewis & Clark Caverns, etc. https://www.visitmt.com/places-to-go/cities-and-towns/bozeman

Dee-rok

You’ll find the food here to be overpriced and mediocre at best, so honestly don’t get too excited about that part, it’s unfortunate but the truth. That being said you can find a lot of answers to your questions online that have already been answered. Quick Google search or search here through Reddit

UrBrotherJoe

Go to Kalispell and hang out in Glacier and the Flathead lake! It’ll be cheaper and cooler. For the 4th of July they have a better show on the lake

DoubleMach

Good luck getting into glacier.

warpigusa

We will probably covered in smoke at that point up here in the flathead

Separate_Cucumber681

Kalispell is nice but the locals between Bozeman and there will take pop shots at your car between the two. I’d stay in one or the other.

YourNewDadIsHere

If only that were true

OneLonelyPolka-Dot

It will be gorgeous, lots of fun summer activities, and ample fireworks for the 4th

Dee-rok

Fireworks were literally banned in Bozeman so your information is incorrect. We have the weakest Fourth of July activities of most states

rhollis1966

Thanks for the feedback from the nice responses….didn’t realize the folks in Montana were so unhappy and pissy….if you could just INGORE a post and move on :)….LOL..anyway, this was beneficial.

forever406

I'm hung up on "pickleball".....I'm speculating, but the pickleball here is exactly the same as the pickleball in Florida. Are you bringing bikes? We have every kind of trail you can imagine...even about 10 miles of in-town singletrack. Also tons of hiking - easy to find trailheads. One thing, don't leave valuables in sight in your vehicle...were starting to see break-ins. Food will not disappoint, other than the prices. Safe travels

TransportationFresh

You're coming from Florida. What heat?? You're at sea level, going to 5,000 feet. It's hot to us, yeah, but you'll be fine.

Exciting_Shallot_351

I think OP means they are trying to get away from the heat in FL. It's a lot cooler up here.

TransportationFresh

Oops 😂 🤦 you're right. I'm a dingus.

socks816

Glacier/Whitefish/Kalispell, Red Lodge, Beartooth Hwy, Yellowstone, some ghost towns? (Virginia City and Pony bar)

Honest_Search2537

I’d hit up the flathead lake area over the 4th. Bozeman is fun, but flathead (Big fork/Whitfish) is a party.

pizza105z

Totally worth driving through Ennis and Madison Valley. Truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

Wind2Energy

If you’re a guitar/banjo fan, Music Villa is a fantastic store, large selection, very friendly and knowledgeable staff - and they have air conditioning!
