wicked game by chris isaak :,) such a beautiful yet heartbreaking song used to listen to it on rp during my breakup with my ex got me through some rough times

decentlyfair

I didn’t like it at the time but now I can appreciate its beauty.

QueenTata1776

Saw him a few weeks ago. He was great. Love that song.

ohno807

I know not everyone’s going to get this, but “Baby One More Time” by Britney. Especially with the iconic accompanying music video. I was a young, closeted gay kid and to see other people wanting to listen to the music I wanted to made me feel less weird and less different (listening to Madonna in the car with my parents may have been a little too risqué…) I’ve been a fan for 25 years and I know she’s weird, but she’s an absolute icon that new pop stars still list as their inspiration.

Fyrsten666

Absolutely! The music video is so captivating and catchy, it's easy to get swept away by it. It really adds to the whole experience of the song!

Texas_Crazy_Curls

Great answer! That video was iconic. I’m so happy her music was a safe for you. 🩷🩷🩷

angnkam

Sometime Around Midnight - Airborne Toxic Event They convey obsession with another so well. The raw emotion is incredibly well delivered.

kristen0402

Same here. I love how the song builds from a whisper to pure agony.

CombinationRight9878

Yo my friends uncle is the drummer. I thought they were some underground band and never even googled them. Thanks to this comment, I know have also fallen in love with this song.

fuqdeep

Listen to the whole "all at once" album if you havent, they have a lot of great stuff

tkingsbu

The very first time I heard that song I quickly became as obsessed with it as the singer was with his ex ;)

theNWguy

This was the first song that popped into my head, but I love it for bummer reasons so I thought against mentioning it. Did not expect it to be the first comment I saw! Lol

bees_defending

Im with you on this one. The song is just captivating

extreme_snothells

Same here. I love how you can visualize everything he sings about. The lyrics are incredibly well written.

Melodic_Force_3107

Black Dog. First Zep song I heard, first hard rock song I listened to, couldn’t stop listening to it for days. Introduced me to the greatest rock and roll band of all time. I proceeded to listen to all Led Zeppelin albums in order.

Fyrsten666

I Love Led Zeppelin 🎵😊

wonderfulworld2024

Fast car by Tracy Chapman . A long time ago.

LeftLengthiness5263

Yes, a million times yes

buckwheat92

Most take a few listens but I was obsessed with Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead from the very first listen.

applesupon10p

I'm not a big Radiohead fan, but I absolutely love that song

MildBasket

She looks like the real thing She tastes like the real thing My fake plastic love Those words alone just hit so hard.

tsrubrats

Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1 First heard it driving home from work when I was 17, it came on right as I was pulling into the driveway. I sat in the car to finish the tune and was a fan ever since. Seen them live 3 times

anthropomorphicdave

This one got me too. The perfection of the rhythmic palm mute guitar followed by a perfect mix of electronic and acoustic. I think I love the vocals and lyrics just as much. Such an amazing song for me.

windowlatch

Their live performance was the coolest concert I’ve ever been to. Not sure if they go all out like that at every show but the visual effects were off the charts

Ively94

I saw them at the Del Mar fair in San Diego, almost 20 years ago and it was an amazing performance!

Beautiful-Baby6245

Nothing compares to you - Sinead O’Connor Heartbreaking song.

SidoniusFabula

The boys of summer - Don Henley. Know this song by heart. Every time I hear or play it (on Spotify or Youtube), it still makes me contemplate the choices I made in life.

NoPen8498

Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac

fazecrayz

Came here to say to make this comment. It’s my all-time favorite song and it always will be.

Fyrsten666

Yes, that one is a classic. 🎵

RunaXandrill

That's a fantastic one! The harmonies, the lush musicianship... I've loved ELO since I was a young girl and I remember them being so huge in the mid to late 1970s. Great choice!

Secret-Asian-Man-76

Thanks! It's my favorite ELO song off my favorite ELO album!

Fyrsten666

Okay, you made me curious, now I'm listening to Twilight song, and I like it. Especially the use of vocoder. 🎵😊

Secret-Asian-Man-76

Glad you're liking it! 😁

I did like “ Everybody loves to rule the world “ 🌎 Still a bit relevant. Too many beautiful ones

Keta-Mined

When COVID was new, one of the guys from TFF did a stripped down version of Mad World with his daughter. It was gorgeous and haunting and so relevant.

Robert201971

I like Marvin Gaye’s “ What’s Going On” and I still think the lyrics are relevant today📻

stanley604

Yes! and it's very true how a lot of the socially-conscious side of Motown (and other labels) still rings true today. "Ball of Confusion" seems pretty relevant still, (except for "the Beatles new record's a gas" :-) ).

tkingsbu

Shine on you crazy diamond, pink Floyd… I was in high school in the 80s… I’d bought a bunch of their albums and was (and still am) pretty obsessed with the band.. Id just bought the wish you were here album, as well as a brand new stereo system. And thought my new album would be perfect for the ‘first spin’ on the new stereo… Holy living fuck. From the first notes of the opening I was absolutely hooked… that epic song just rocked my world.

Future-Wealth-3112

Great song, great album, great band!

Fyrsten666

Good one, I love Pink Floyd, been a fan for 30 years+.

Loud-Process7413

My mother loved her music and she played LPs and listened to the radio every day The year 1976 sticks in my mind. The long hot summer..I was 8yrs old🤣 Abba..Dancing Queen. Pussycat..Mississippi. Showaddy..Under The Moon Of Love...to name but three. These and many others make the memories flood back...I had three sisters and they'd dance me around the kitchen. Innocent, young and carefree. Only music has this power to transport me back to the sounds, the smells, the place, the clothes and the atmosphere of specific times in my life. 🥰✌️🙏

Electronic_Prize394

I was 6 in 1976 and loved Abba and loved my Abba t- shirt more

natguy2016

"Don't Dream It's Over." I was a 14 Alternative fan who was starting to fall for The Smiths and XTC. The mid 80's were all synth pop all of the time. "Don't Dream It's Over" was pop with comforting melancholy. Neil Finn became, and still is, my favorite songwriter.

decentlyfair

Mine too. He is genius. My fave is Nails in your Feet. He sang it for me twice.

Miles Davis - ~~Whats Up~~ So What - from his 1959 album Kind of Blue. The first time I heard it, it took my breath away at how amazingly beautiful it is. The whole album is incredible, but that song is magical. It can bring tears to your eyes when you hear how beautiful it is.

She Used to Be Mine - Sarah Bareilles I was going through a transitional time. Just broke up with a toxic ex, didn’t really know who I was, had a full time job, going through my first year of college, caregiving for my family members, just generally had a lot of responsibility that most teenagers I went to school with didn’t have to deal with. Driving around a lot, just to get some time alone. Heard this song, just started sobbing and had to pull over. Whenever I listen to the song now, it reminds me to be gentle with myself. If you cringe at your past self, that’s called growth. It also drew to my attention that I was way too hard on myself (and sometimes still am!) and that’s why I burn out so hard and fast.

in the air tonight - the jedimaster phil collins. when i was young, i read a scifi book about a guy in a plane flying with his plane through a spacetunnel created by extraterrestrials to steal earths air. they also kidnapped his girlfriend and another guy who was the enemy of the hero. that song was the perfect soundtrack for that book. it perfectly reflected the desperate loneliness mood

SilentSaint2112

Iron Man by Black Sabbath. First thinking it was about the superhero, then realizing it wasn’t. Then years later, realizing that a few lines in the song reflect what Tony Stark has actually done in the MCU.

The first time I heard Linger by the Cranberries was with my girlfriend at the end of a warm weekend day spent together at parks, cafés, markets, doing nothing in particular. We were driving home in silence holding hands and listening to the radio when it came on. It was beautiful. We sat there and quietly cried, trying not to let the other person notice. I had heard the song probably a billion times before in TV and movies, but that was the first time I really sat quietly and just listened. We had just come out of a pretty rocky patch of our relationship and it felt like a significant turning point. We’re still together and I love her

Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel In a time when it felt like every little thing was not going my way, it helped me learn to accept changes, use them to find new adventures, and appreciate life.

Yes, really. Mark King is the best bass player ever, in my opinion. 🎵😊

Robert201971

A rare one.

PudaRex

Both times I said, what is this song? Was blown away upon hearing them. Franz Ferdinand- Take Me Out Adele- Rolling in the Deep

No-Anteater5366

Belle and Sebastian. "The boy with the Arab strap". Strange things happen as a quite depressing lyric, but the music is all happy a a flutter.

13vvetz

This album! Such a new sound to me, mellow but uptempo, and so many lyrics so random or poetic

mistakemaker3000

Tame Impala - New Person, Same Old Mistakes Xxyyxx - About you First 2 that came to mind. Instant classics that can always calm down my anxiety

givemegoodtimes

eiretara7

Vincent by Don McLean.  It’s a tribute to Van Gogh and how he was able to express himself through art, despite his struggles with mental illness in a world that did not understand him.  It makes me feel a little sad, but it’s a beautiful song.

Ively94

[Powder Blue, Elbow](https://youtu.be/_u15JygmXM8?si=zO3Anm68AXKwMnC4) because I thought it was a love song, but well, I will let you figure it out now one that is about love and the feeling you have when you cannot tell that one person how you feel, so you write a poem about it and then many years after another artist uses it to write a song about your love poem with the most beautiful voices singing it. Rise by Public Image Limited. Walked into a record store in Jan ‘86 where it was playing and stopped in my tracks. Was on a first date with my high school sweetheart, who turned to me and said, “You’re going to buy this album right now, aren’t you?” Not wanting to carry it around on our date, I bought it the next morning.

Slozman

Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance I was walking into a Coheed and Cambria concert and the local radio station was parked out there playing songs. I stepped into hearing range and thought it was some of the best stuff I had heard in a long time. I had to stop and ask the DJ who it was. This was over twenty years ago, but I still remember hearing the song for the first time.

I love this song

This must be the place - the talking heads i honestly still don’t know if it’s a happy or sad song still but the instruments make it so unique and the lyrics resonate with me deeper than anyone other song has.

U2 - Bad just an incredible song especially live.

Smart_Weekend2420

Always On My Mind - Pet Shop Boys. I heard it for the first time recently while watching All Of Us Strangers, the scene where Adam's mum is singing it to him, it broke but healed me at the same time. So many times I have wished someone said to me the very lyrics in the song.

CodAdministrative765

Backpacking around Australia in 2000-01, scored a job driving a van to and from the airport for a hostel in Melbourne. Coming back one day, a tune came on by a band I'd heard of as they'd had an album out around that time, The Living End, but not one that I knew. Just absolutely blown away, loved it, as soon as I got back immediately asked if anyone knew of a tune called All Torn Down and went and bought their debut album just for that. Years and years later back in the UK, stumbled across the video on MTV, which I'd never seen, and in it they are driving along the exact same bit of motorway I was on when I heard it for the first time. I was literally living the video. I hope I never ever forget that moment.

JimmysDrums-5353

The right left hand by the possum George jones! That was mine and my wife's wedding song! Another possum favorite is I want to grow old with you! I know most of you guys are too young to know who I'm talking about, but he ranked right up there with Johnny Cash Merle Haggard Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. Ah The Highwaymen!

skizzybwoi

Phish - divided sky (Amsterdam 1996) Gives me goosebumps every time. The peaks and valleys are something else, and i heard it first after seeing TENET, which it reminded me of emotionally and thematically.

I think I felt it when I first heard Green Day - Time of your life. Also when I first heard Fork in the Road by Goody Grace. Goody' songs mostly make me feel that way. He just released "Sweet Dreams" and, again, I felt connected when I first heard it.

PatienceandFortitude

Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks. It was often playing on the radio on my way to elementary school and I LOVED it. I had no idea what it was about of course

I have many...but one that came to mind is "Time is running out" by MUSE. Heard it in 2003ish on the radio and immediately went and bought the cd.

Texas_Crazy_Curls

Skydiving - Peewee Longway & Cassius Jay. I have no fucking clue why I love that song so much. I must’ve been high the first time I heard it because I remember being obsessed immediately. It’s still one of my favorite songs that I listen to daily. Thick and Thin - Stick Figure. It was the middle of Covid pandemic and my husband and I stopped by a little corn dog hut while on a mini vacation. This song came on the speakers and I whipped out my Shazam. I had never heard a sound like that before and was instantly obsessed. We listened to their music the entire trip. Once covid restrictions were lifted that was the first concert we went to. They are AMAZING live. Highly recommend.

[Gorecki - Lamb](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSRYvYN1ayw&ab_channel=LambVEVO) I heard on the radio and was so certain it was the most beautiful lyric I'd ever heard and tried SO hard to remember who it was, but failed and it took years for me to find it again. It is still.

For me a big one is Welcome Home (Sanitarium) by Metallica. The first time I heard this song was actually from a documentary I watched. It really speaks to me at like 1:46 into the song where it says “can’t they see why my brain says rage”. I’ve had a rough home life and the people that are the reason for it don’t understand why I’m the person I am and so those lyrics make me feel understood. Other than the lyrics the instrumentals themselves are beautiful. I play bass and the bass for this song is just amazing. When I saw Metallica in concert last September and they played Sanitarium it almost felt euphoric. To this day this song remains one of my favorites of all time.

JonnyZhivago

Damien Rice - "The Blower's Daughter" Playing at a backyard BBQ, that Summer was so hot...see a girl... lovely blonde hair, skin nice and tanned...oh shit she's looking at me. She's...looking at me? I couldn't take my eyes off of her...too bad we were both committed to someone else...but that song. That moment. That heat. Like yesterday man

Creep by Radiohead. I'm not even a fan of Radiohead. It's not the style of music I'd typically listen to. But I swear I could have written every word of that song. My wife won't let me listen to it because she said it sends me to a "dark place" and she's right. It touches me on a deep level.

[Lazy Nina by Greg Phillinganes](https://youtu.be/TJMelsJukC0?si=cyAQzXpN8B6xEquN) Not my usual style at *all* but the groove and vibe just hit hard and I think anyone who’s had a nice lazy day away from the world with their significant other can super relate to the song. “Back in the maze with lazy Nina; walking the dog and watching Soul Train.”

D’s car jam/anxious mofo - minutemen Double nickles on the dime cd, lent to me from my best friend and next door neighbor when I was 16 years old. It meant I had 43 more songs in a row to listen to. Unforgettable experience. The whole world opened up in my head. Still talk to that friend weekly 26 years later. And still love the hell out of the minutemen, crank that shit all the time still!

We Are All Insane by AWOLNATION. It’s about when you get into a routine in life and the days of the week all blend together and everything feels monotonous. Extremely relatable.

It’s For The Best - Straylight Run Random song from a random no-name band from my college emo days. It instantly popped into my head when I read your question so that’s gotta be the one for me. Listening to it 20 years later and it doesn’t hit the same as it did back then but I still loved those guys.

HurricaneCory

Time of your song - Matisyahu (live at stubbs 2) I heard the song live and then revisited the live version which is incredible. I was lucky enough to run into matisyahu while walking down the street in Detroit before his show. We had a brief conversation and as I was walking away I turned back and yelled that this one of the best songs I knew. He thanked me and was on his way. That night as he played the song he pointed at me. Nerdgasm is the closest description of my emotions.

[Anemone by Brian Jonestown Massacre](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StV9lElcvAY) came on one day while I was laying in bed in some state or another and it just pulled me into its chill psychedelic riffs and its beat and its half-asleep sexed out lyrics. And I've loved it ever since.

pinecone347

Luna by Oneus This song captures the essence of beauty and love. When I listen, I can hear it and feel it all around me. I swear a part of my soul lives in that song and I connect to it like none other. I often think in music before processing words or emotion, and this song is the closest thing I can describe to what I hear when I experience love or see someone who’s the most beautiful person in the world to me. It’s such a lovely and wonderful song, every day I’m so happy I’ve discovered it. Surprisingly, I haven’t even read the lyric translation, but I still feel so connected to it.

ghislain-tuca

Truisms 4 Dummies - Headache It resonated with me in a level tough to describe, but the instrumentation and spoken word lyrics formed a beautiful experience as I walked through my city.

HammeredKlavier

"Ancora Qui" (Ennio Morricone/Elisa Toffoli) from Tarantino's "Django Unchained". I'm in love with it and yet it's... complicated. I had a jam session with a friend and convinced her to let us have a go at it. Incidentally, she's on my shortlist for "the one that got away", so the song is a bit cursed for me and I don't listen to it as often these days. I really bond over music and, needless to say, her voice still haunts me... "Still here", as the song says. But damn good song.

Background_Onion4002

Life After by Broods & Like a Woman by Broods. I was mourning the loss of some friends.

that_one_wierd_guy

for me it's a song called city of heroes. it's a collab by micheal kiske, and amanda sommervill. I was hooked from the first line. "they call me a hero but I'm not made of stone, and there's a monster in us all"

MileenasFeet

KidGrundle

For me it was Pleura by King Gizzard. I’d never heard music like that before and the lyrics hit me as both poetic and specific to things I like. I immediately fell in love and went down a huge psychedelic rock rabbit hole that changed what I look for in music today. As for Pleura, it became my most listened to song last year on my Spotify rewind.

yousyveshughs

Rosemary by the Deftones. I was a huge fan of them for a bout 15 or so years when I first heard this song of theirs. It was at a live gig in Detroit opening for System if a Down. The song would be a highlight of the album ‘Koi no Yokan’ released in November 2012 but this show was early august and I knew nothing of its existence. They started playing it in the middle of their set of very familiar tunes and I was blown away by such a cool new song. It stuck in my head for a few weeks after the show and I recall humming parts of it at work. It slipped my mind until I got the album and when the song reappeared in my life - studio quality this time - it quickly became one of my favourite songs of life. I still rank it a too three tune for myself, so unbelievably cool that they wrote it. Just pure beauty in song form.

RunaXandrill

Bear with me, I might tear up typing this one out. Tim Minchin, "White Wine in the Sun" Like Tim, I do like traditional Christmas carols. Have since I was a young girl. But.. at the same time, as a non Christian, it's hard to parse the "peace, love, and joy" message when so many tragedies happen in the world. What starts out as a funny barb turns into a very heartfelt message to his daughter that she's safe at home if she's otherwise unsafe in the world away from Mum and Dad. It's something that I hoped to hear from my parents and never did. Also, this song hit so much harder in 2020 because I missed my father (and didn't realize that our once good relationship had already soured beyond repair). From the first time I heard it and weeped profusely, it became not only my favorite song of the season but also a personal favorite in general. Now. I must address the ninja cutting onions in the kitchen. EDIT - [Forgot to link this.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCNvZqpa-7Q)

OP I love that song and when I hear it which isn’t often I still love it. To answer your question there are three pop songs I loved first time I heard them one is Set Fire to the Rain By Adele (not an Adele fan at all), Monsters by James Blunt and catapult by Jack Savoretti. I am a rock lover but these three hit me.

Tiny Moves by Bleachers Falling in love with the girl of your dreams...

alyymarie

Happens a lot, but the one I remember best was "Global Concepts" by Robert Delong. I love the creative music and the introspective lyrics, especially "no two people move the same". It was back when MTV used to play music videos late at night. The video came on, and I had to stop what I was doing and see who it was because I'd never heard anything like it. He's still one of my favorite artists, and I always travel to see him when he tours because he puts on such a great show.

Dumblond11

"Learn to Fly",Foos.Someting I ndd to do at the time.Perfect!

sporesatemygoldfish

Live with me - Massive Attack. The Video.

StudsTurkleton

Silly, but my friend in HS and I went to this dance a few towns over to meet a group of friends. We all had a blast then came home about midnight (he was staying over). We turned on MTV which played music then. The song/video “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by TfF came on. First time we heard it. We watched, and as soon as it was over we were both like “that’s going to be huge.” Of course, it was. Always liked it. That friend died of ALS this year, but I’ll always carry that experience and association of him and that fun night to the song. Miss you, H.

SugarIncubus

Kiss You to Death by Alkaline Trio It perfectly captures a sense of longing for someone who is not in my life anymore but how they will always have a piece of me.

shewshine

froot by marina. the rest of the album just isn’t as good as froot to me lol. have yet to find any songs that are similar besides, like, abba lol

My Sweet Lord, by George Harrison. Blew me away the first time I heard it in the mid-80s. Particularly the part when the chorus switches from 'Alleluia' to 'Hare Krishna' and then into the Vedic prayers. It's been on of my favorite songs for 40 years, and learning more about the song and what it meant to George has made me like it even more.

Bunsunner

Killing Me Softly - Lauren Hill & Fugees Saw this performed on a mid morning talk show in 1996 Fade into You - Mazzy Star. Immediately fell in love with Hope Sandoval & the moody beautiful song Fast Car - Tracy Chapman. Tears flowed the first dozen or so times I heard this

RickToy

I love when this happens! Most recently it was with the song Good Luck Babe by Chappell Roan. Idk why, but as soon as the first few notes hit I was hooked, and the chorus is awesome. Sometimes a song was just meant to penetrate the heart.

KrustyTunafish

Golden Dawn by Goat I was just getting into garage psych stuff and it came on shuffle while I was stoned. The balalaika "breakdown" solidified it for me. Awesome groovy world music and I strive to live by the quote at the intro.

jprakes

"In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3" Coheed and Cambria. I was asleep in a friend's car, never heard coheed before. It got to the big swell epic part at the end and I woke up and said "who the fuck is this?" Been in love with them ever sense. I mean, that song just hits my music loving soul in some way that I can't really put into words.

hedonistuck

Colorblind- counting crows… it made me feel what love should feel like i dont know why

Cleverdaze

God Only Knows by The Beach Boys. I haven't always thought life has been worth living, but listening to this song and looking to others makes me realize there are ways to make it all worthwhile. For the longest time, I thought living was just finding things to do in the time were given and nothing more. I'm starting to see that, for myself, to truly live is to have something or someone worth dying for. I think that's why it feels like I haven't lived yet, but I'm not sure.

Shhhh_cats

Beach Life-In-Death by Car Seat Headrest - immediately had to listen to it like 5 times in a row

tickleyoupink

Strawberry swing by frank ocean is so underrated

JutyFishFingers

My Lover’s Prayer - Otis Redding Old soul music really helps me convey the message I want to show someone that I maybe can’t put into words, just waiting for my other half to show and appreciate with.

someoneyouknow420

Danse Russe - hurt . Likely most have not heard of Hurt. They broke up years ago but man they had some good songs kind of a perfect circle/ tool vibe. The violin gives me the shivers.

DonnaLakeWi

One Day - Matisyahu.

Abbiethedog

Dog Days Are Over - Florence & TM That’s Not My Name - Ting-Tings Come With Me Now - Kongo Love a driving beat.

Ghostspunge

Kind of a dark song. Something in the way-nirvana. Heroin was in the way. I fell in love with it because in a weird morbid way it helped me through some of the darkest times of my life.

Mexican_Boogieman

Dont Let it Bring You Down - Neil Young

Unfair-Community-321

I remember listening to Mariah’s new CD in 2006 at the music store. At the time, many thought her career was in decline. The first time I heard We Belong Together, I got chills and thought, wow, she’s back with a global, unforgettable hit. 2006 was Mariah’s year all over the world, and I was so happy for her.

SwearToSaintBatman

[Crooked Tree by Molly Tuttle.](https://youtu.be/W6yjVNXiykA?si=XHA1WDzIDLSOotRX) The song is about me, about everyone else who stand out. It makes me cry every time I listen to it, because it tells me that it's okay not to be perfect. The twist in the chorus slways chokes me up.

kfjbndjikf

m83 - midnight city

The First Time Ever Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack

Borracho_Bandit

Basket case by Green Day. I was in the 5th grade and I wasn’t into any sort of “rock” music until I heard that song. It completely changed my life and it made me want to play drums.

MildBasket

You're everything - chick Correa and return to forever Idk, it's just magical. Sounds like a warm smile.

Disastrous_Hawk_9763

Rolling in the Deep by Adele is one of those songs

Shagrath427

Downeaster Alexa by Billy Joel. First time I heard it was in Hangover 2. It’s still intoxicating to this day. I can’t say it means anything personal but it’s a beautiful, well crafted song.

Present_Ad230

“Purp” by Kodak black😭😭 this song was playing when my bf took me to a beach for the first time. I love it, it holds such a beautiful memory lol

paleotectonics

Keasbey Nights, Streetlight Manifesto (anarchy and skapunk); I’ll Be Mellow When I’m Dead, Weird Al (I’ve now seen him a dozen times)

JoeTestaverde

All Mixed Up by 311 The lyrics didn’t mean much to me, but my brother and I both heard it on the radio for the first time in late 2022. We both thought it was Sublime, and really liked it - I pulled out Shazam it and found out it was 311. We still really liked it, cause it BANGS. TL;DR it reminds me of my brother

missybeputtinitdown

Vivaldi - Presto. It speaks to my heart. Fills me with passion. I wish I could will it on command for overwhelming emotions. The song almost feels like everything stops and nothing matters. The little things will be lost in the waves of music leaving me clearer and brighter. I. Love. This. Song.

nanana_catdad

Losing my religion - REM Wish you were here - Pink Floyd How to disappear completely - radio head You’re somebody else - flora cash Obstacle 1 - interpol Chop suey! - SOAD Would? - Alice In Chains Pneuma - tool

Caro1275

Fix You by Coldplay and Saturn by Sleeping At Last. I was going through an awful time when I first heard these songs. They were so relatable to what I was going through. They make me cry, but I still listen to them sometimes. They’re oddly comforting to listen to now.

lordzeromega

Bullet With Butterfly Wings by The Smashing Pumpkins. The first time I heard it I was blown away be the baseline and drums. It has been my favorite song ever since.

ItsTheBaristaMulder

My immortal by Evanescence I remember my mother had that album on disc and she had it replaying all the time in her Red 1990 Chevy Blazer. She used to take me to school every morning and over time I learned every one of those songs but I always loved singing this one with my mom. I ended up singing it in highschool and butchered one of the notes in front of everyone lol. But I got the loudest applause, it really made me feel good. But mainly I was really singing it to her, as she sat with the rest of my family in the audience. My parents got divorced shortly after in 2020 and she's since moved away but everytime I hear it, it reminds me that she still loves me, even though she might not remember those times.

cutechrissicat

Japanese Denim -Daniel Caesar

max15711

I dont know if it counts and it might be basic but the abbey road medley will always be my favorite piece of music
