Absolutely. It's the first race of the season. It's a superspeedway, so the name of the game is to get in front or survive being stuck in traffic on the way to the front.... finishing 1rst is pretty much fair game to any driver who doesn't write off their car.
glad the first experience any new fans get to have is with fox's absolutely horrible direction where they somehow manage to miss shit on a track that's a quarter mile long. it's astonishing just how bad they are.
Mike Joy talking about battles on the track and the cameras continuing to just follow the leader is exactly what I've come to expect from Fox production.
After seeing replays I don’t think Ty did anything wrong. He didn’t slam him into the wall or anything, just used him up after Joey and him had been racing like assholes against each other. Also, Bubba tried driving through Larson and dumped Ty. 23 deserved to get turned at the end there
I didn’t know the race was moved until an hour before and I already had other plans. I don’t blame NASCAR for this, but it’s yet another missed opportunity to grow the sport
Yes. I’m in SoCal. But also most people realized that long before NASCAR did the last minute rescheduling.
They coulda rescheduled earlier in the week.
I went there today just expecting to see some practice laps and see some NASCAR for free since Auto Club Speedway is gone, but this was totally unexpected, so that was really cool. My clothes still smell of the exhaust fumes. I had a great time.
that was a blast to watch at the track! probably the best short track racing the nextgen has put on. low bar, but was fun to see so much passing through the field.
not sure if its been mentioned, but having been to all three Colosseum Clash's, this year there were more families with a lot of young children, likely bc it was free and many large families cant otherwise afford to do stuff like this. i just thought that was really cool and the little kids just loved everything about the night.
and the icing on the cake was not having to sit through an MGK set! haha
that was very hit and miss lol
the cars have mufflers but in that small of a space they are still \*very\* loud (especially in the lower frequencies which build on eachother like a subwoofer feeding back). i know it was a free event but having free ear plugs for parents going to their first race to grab for their kids would be cheap and ear-saving.
It’s ridiculous to me that after every single FOX race, we have to come to Reddit and/or social media to see footage of various incidents because they somehow missed it or didn’t care enough to show it.
Each year I hope Fox has realized that maybe random camera cuts (especially random cuts to onboard cameras) isn't the best way to broadcast a race and each year I get disappointed
Missed practice and heat races due to a long nap but watched the Mexico Series race. First time checking out Mexico Series. It was an exciting race and I rooted for Suarez due to being a familiar name, and experience on short tracks. Overall had fun, looking forward to tomorrow.
Oh it's not a joke, I wasn't able to keep up on the scheduling, I passed out right after work and woke up in time to pick up my daughter and catch the Mexico series race which I found interesting. I like the cars they use.
The racing was good. I think it proves that it’s not necessarily the track that is the problem, it’s the cars. If NASCAR does return to the LA Coliseum, they should invite the Mexico Series again.
1) There were about 50 fans in the seats for the clash, pathetic
2) I love Harvick but he was terrible. He just does not have the smoothness or quickness to do it in the booth. When aw shucks Bowyer shows you up, it’s a bad sign.
3) I hope this Denny win doesn’t curse the rest of the season
4) watching the Mexico series my mind was changed. I don’t dislike short tracks, I dislike Cup on short tracks!
5) so many broadcast issues. Phantom red lights, slow to change the lap number, flaky time deltas, come on.
I was there and I was actually happy to see as many people there as there were with such short notice. I got there at 230 and by 4:30 it looked like whoever could come today tried their best to be there.
1. Last minute decision by NASCAR to have the Clash tonight with the LA government actively telling its citizens to not travel during the storm, it is what it is
2. I thought he was pretty informative, any awkwardness or whatever will be smoothed out as he keeps doing it
3. This year is Totally His Year^(TM)
4. Same lol
5. FOX gonna FOX
Let's be honest, the people complaining about the lack of fans were always going to complain about it. Even before NASCAR rescheduled their race to be four hours from the time of announcing it. And if it was a full stadium they would complain about it being a free event that allows too many people in. 🤣
I loved Harvick tbh. . . . He came off as very real and even as a driver who has way more insight was saying the same shit I was saying on my couch. Super relatable. I was cracking up.
If you didn't like it, it was his first race. He'll become a broadcasting pro in no time!
Ah I didn’t know LA was telling people not to get out. I didn’t expect a full house, but was still surprised more folks weren’t planning to come for the heat races and just got lucky.
Yeah, I think the advisory warning to not travel was for tomorrow since that's when the storm should hit, but given that the rain was on its way during the Clash and there were droplets on some of the camera lenses during the Mexico race, I guess people figured it would start tonight and it wouldn't be worth going out.
Sexy ass trophy Daniel's taking home

Man, the Toyota driver make it SO easy to hate them. Gibbs is obviously just a tool. Denny is, well, Denny. Bubba just running into the 5 every chance he gets.
I was thinking this during the Cup race, it just looks so nice to see cars beat up on a short track and the Cup cars never do with this new car. I wish they could figure out a way to make it so the cars are just as safe but they can look like they went through hell on short tracks and road courses.
Biggest thing would be to protect the radiator because otherwise with the way they crash in cup those things would be done, and also find a way to protect the tires.
I’m not sure what the Xfinity cars do differently but the bodies normally get a bit more torn up, however still less than the old cup cars.
This right here is the reason I wish NASCAR would give a bit more attention to the series that aren't the Big Three and sometimes ARCA. This shit slaps, and now all I want to know is how fun the Modified Division would be here.
Would be cool to move the clash around and have local supporting series dependent on the area. LA gets nascar Mexico, Northeast gets modifieds, PNW gets Pintys, etc.
It’s been lightly raining here for the past 15 minutes.
Not enough to halt, but just individual drops.
If there’s a caution, the vortex theory might be tested…
I mean, it’s not even close. Thankfully it looks like they sent 3 or 4 camera operators home, plus we’re not subject to half the coverage from in-car zoomed in on one other car. This is far better.
Unfortunately it looks like the rain has arrived on the radar.
There's something very satisfying about seeing bending and dented body parts with so much suspension travel. This visually looks like when I think short track racing.

Man I miss when cup cars would pick the nose up coming off the corner and slam it back to the ground when they got on the brakes. Something about it just makes the cars look way faster.
Clash Post race inspection is complete, no issues, race winner is confirmed.

Absolutely. Knowing people through iRacing running on it and racing as a fan I’ve heard more about kids of different demographics getting into racing now than ever by a long shot.
They are supposed to issue refunds for the race, has anybody gotten a refund?
What happened to the stands???? NOBODY was at the race! It’s really bad!! Is NASCAR just holding races to satisfy their TV contracts?
A lot of people didn't turn up to the "The Clas" this Saturday.
KFB was going to pass Hamlin before that caution came out.
Fan attendance was atrocious. Maybe nascar will finally give up on LA.
They moved it up with just a few hours notice
Race was moved up two days on short notice. Event was sold out for sunday
Did this race count towards the standings?
No, it's more an exhibition with bragging rights.
Thanks for the clarification. Daytona 500, I’m guessing is when the races start to count?
Absolutely. It's the first race of the season. It's a superspeedway, so the name of the game is to get in front or survive being stuck in traffic on the way to the front.... finishing 1rst is pretty much fair game to any driver who doesn't write off their car.
Yep!
They did a horrible job advertising the date change because I had no idea the race was last night.
It was a last minute thing
I literally found out via email that it was changed
glad the first experience any new fans get to have is with fox's absolutely horrible direction where they somehow manage to miss shit on a track that's a quarter mile long. it's astonishing just how bad they are.

I’ve gone silent on here lately lol, been fully invested in hockey and just checked in here once a week but I missed these race threads!
I didn’t know the race was moved until an hour before and I already had other plans. I don’t blame NASCAR for this, but it’s yet another missed opportunity to grow the sport
When were they supposed to run it?
Today
In the rain idk.
Do you realize how much it’s supposed to rain? Lol
Yes. I’m in SoCal. But also most people realized that long before NASCAR did the last minute rescheduling. They coulda rescheduled earlier in the week.

Huge turnout LOL. Great job Nascar
This is another prime example of why haters are always sounding ignorant lol at least do some research first before posting something stupid.
? It’s a day early on like 2 hours notice wtf you want people to do?
It’s Los Angeles. Maybe they want them to get extras from Central Casting.
It’s ridiculous to me that after every single FOX race, we have to come to Reddit and/or social media to see footage of various incidents because they somehow missed it or didn’t care enough to show it.
You ever watch a football game on fox? Even worse.
Each year I hope Fox has realized that maybe random camera cuts (especially random cuts to onboard cameras) isn't the best way to broadcast a race and each year I get disappointed

I hope this is a joke. If not, they rescheduled the race to earlier tonight because of the Biblical floods incoming. There will be replays tomorrow.
Oh it's not a joke, I wasn't able to keep up on the scheduling, I passed out right after work and woke up in time to pick up my daughter and catch the Mexico series race which I found interesting. I like the cars they use.

Well, aren't you a ball of sunshine

Much better race than the Cup series, hope NASCAR makes it easier to watch their races here in USA/EEUU.
GW Daniel
I really hope Danny gets it together this year. It's so clear how much he means to a lot of Mexican fans
That was honestly an entertaining race.
Sexy ass trophy Daniel's taking home https://preview.redd.it/h167z0r9whgc1.png?width=1439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7291ed27b0069298f3182d7d22d83c4bee966d3
That’s sick!
Hell yeah
Happy for Suarez. Too bad about the Clash, but he leaves the weekend with a win!
Now I just need Daniel to put the Quaker State cup car in victory lane this year... pls.
That was a much better race. Glad the whole thing finished under green. Buenas Noches, Reddit.
I want giant windshield numbers!
Man, the Toyota driver make it SO easy to hate them. Gibbs is obviously just a tool. Denny is, well, Denny. Bubba just running into the 5 every chance he gets.
That makes it easier to cheer for Bubba
Pretty sure it's the other way around, champ.
Lol, they just referred to Suarez as "the prodigal son" on the Spanish broadcast
That was a nice drive.
This is nice momentum for him, let’s carry this to Daytona!
Great race
Fuck yeah, Suarez. And I’ll be damned, we didn’t suffer a rainout.
Good for Suarez 🤘🏻
These are the last laps at the coliseum ever possibly.
Lmfao, they're playing "Gasolina". Now it's *officially* a Mexican party
“Smiling fans” *zooms in on guy passed out* 😂
He's smiling on the inside
I’m cheering for Suarez and Perez.
How the fuck has Mikey not said, "amigos" a hundred times yet?
In his defense, he's drunk
These guys are stealing the show and setting a high as hell bar for short track races the rest of the year
If Suarez wins.. Is this better or worse than Buschwhacking?
Better because its a one off
Can't blame guys for racing like mad Men here. This is about the irl equivalent of that race I had with Ryan Newman through the streets of New York.
These cars are simply awesome
Starting to think this isn’t a half bad short track we’ve got out here.
Guiterrez was throwing blocks like it was Talladega out there not surprised
Hitting them with the Pruett Fade every corner
Getting really chippy out there. Now that it's getting to the hour mark they're pushing more and more
Saw that coming off of 2 😂
These cars are bent the fuck up and I love it
I was thinking this during the Cup race, it just looks so nice to see cars beat up on a short track and the Cup cars never do with this new car. I wish they could figure out a way to make it so the cars are just as safe but they can look like they went through hell on short tracks and road courses.

This is now a nascar mexico subreddit. Welcome!!
No, there’s no where else to talk about the live race. Mods should have a live thread next time.
Henny Damlin won. We're just using this thread because there's nowhere else to comment on the Mexicar Race.
Because this race is 500 times better than the Clash
Denny won , Lagano and Gibbs got into a heated discussion after race , and chastain dumped Redick after the race finished
No. The mexico race is happening and this is the only properly formatted thread for it. Why would you come to a reddit thread to see results anyway?
Probably would have helped if the mods made a thread for the Mexico race, but oh well. Hamlin won, btw.
Seems like all that rain that was over the ocean earlier is struggling to stay together once it comes ashore. We may yet get a full race in tonight.
Vortex theory 👌🏻
This race is proving there is nothing wrong with the track. Its the cars
Could you imagine these cars at like a Bristol or martinsville…. Man that would be insane
Bent sheet metal and brawling throughout the field. This really is the main event, lmao
>raced called the Clash >the cars actually clash with each other, for once All it took was a little (weather) magic to make it true!
really fun watching these guys slide the cars around and beat on each other
need me some salty donuts and coffee vibes
“Sponsored by laughing clown malt liquor and rico’s bail bonds”
Look like late models. Love them
I really want a crossover where the Cup drivers get in these cars for a race. This racing is fantastic. These guys are getting after it
They’re putting on a good show.
rough for garcia. Love seeing Suarez up front tho!
Can these cars be the short track package plz.
Fantastic race already.
Go Suarez!
This is better than v8 supercars
They are fucking WHEELING these things
\*wakes up\* ...Thanks, NASCAR.
dealdash might be the only sponsor sketchier than rich energy

Tough for Perez had some help
This is cool to watch. Classic short track racing.
So uhhh how do we watch this here in the states? 👀👀👀

Hell yeah
Fs2
No I mean like the other Mexico series races
all streamed live on the nascar mexico youtube page
Most of them are streamed on the NASCAR Mexico YouTube channel I think
Camera work is way better for this Mexican race than the cup race.
I mean, it’s not even close. Thankfully it looks like they sent 3 or 4 camera operators home, plus we’re not subject to half the coverage from in-car zoomed in on one other car. This is far better. Unfortunately it looks like the rain has arrived on the radar.
Really enjoying the Mexico series race
Looks like Calderon used his stuff up too early.
Remind me again, is this a points race for the Mexico Series?
Yes
Note to Fox: See how much better Michael Waltrip is as an analyst when he is actually at the track.
Gutierrez is moving through the field nicely
There's something very satisfying about seeing bending and dented body parts with so much suspension travel. This visually looks like when I think short track racing.
Maybe Mikey just doesn’t need Phil
"The falcon" us such a badass nickname
Mikey is so excited that someone in this field is called the falcon
I love that this has turned into the Mexico series race thread! This is actually super entertaining of a race!
These cars look like it takes a lot to spin them out, but the racing is still fun to watch.
Nice save
Raindrops on some of the cameras?
Wasn't Goeters a Busch/Truck guy in the 00s'?
He was the pole sitter of the first Mexico Busch race.
Yep. Drove for Brewco some in Busch.
What happened between Ty and Logano? And did bubba get into Larson and Larson retaliate or did the 48 get into Larson causing Larson to turn bubba?
We will probably never know because Fox doesn't bother to show exciting stuff like that.
[удалено]
I been looking at him and Gluck but haven’t seen anything, maybe my shits broken rn lol
Canel’s are great but that 22 is smooshed
Couldn’t watch, did the racing seem any better than previous short tracks in the next gen? Obviously not a great sample size, but curious
Honestly I thought this was the best of the 3 Clash races in LA. That’s a low bar lol, but it had more passing potential.
Well, I'll be damned. These guys race on Hoosier tires.
Hoosier got bought by Continental AG in 2016, so nowadays they're in the same group as Continental and General tires.
I had to swap to the English broadcast there’s been a ton of technical issues with the Spanish broadcast
Maybe somebody got powerbombed through the announce desk...
[удалено]
Glad somebody got the reference!
They can't catch a break can they
Just noticed perez is running the trackhouse font. Is he associated with the team?
I’m not sure, I looked up to see if the Arca team that he drives for has any track house relations, but I couldn’t find anything.
I found a typo on the leaderboard. They spelled Rovelo as Rolevo. EDIT: And it's fixed.

He beated your favourite weather condition
It really makes me happy knowing guys like Daniel and Bubba have given young guys coming up someone to look up to.
Absolutely. Knowing people through iRacing running on it and racing as a fan I’ve heard more about kids of different demographics getting into racing now than ever by a long shot.
There’s also a truck series in Mexico, FYI.
Their wheels are so small, its noticeable. Esp relative to the fenders
They have giant stickers on the windshield?!?
"This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient but I do love my race number"
Razo is the Mexican equivalent of Harry Gant. Of course, Mikey says it as I'm typing this.
Some of these names in the Mexico series sound familiar did anyone race in trucks or arca ? I feel like I’ve seen them before
“Perez” is Perez de Lara. And Max Gutierrez.
I can’t believe I missed that he was 2nd in arca points last year 🤣 I need to pay attention to arca more
Did the broadcast just crash into itself?
COMMSCOPE supremacy, I guess
