Sometimes you have to think about where you stand as a student. Like you carefully consider the disciplines you're going for. I gave 3 NET'S IN 2019. failed in all. Got accepted in FAST, in engineering. Spent a semester there. Dropped out. Again gave NETS in 2020 Summer. Failed again. Then again went back to FAST. (Didn't have a choice). Eik aur semester and again dropped out (Couldn't survive in fast specially in engineering). This time decided tk give NET for business. I had figured out that i am not made for engineering. This time i cleared. Now i am in the last year. And all that time just fades away. I'm happy rn. Made some wonderful friends along the way. Learnt a lot. The point is no matter how late you start your university. It will be special. Lage raho
I'm ngl this is probably the hardest phase in life, like itni tension hoti hai and like you give it your best lekin phir bhi score sahi nahi aata lekin trust me end mein sab sahi hou jaata hai you just have to keep going. Literally I remember last year I used to cry so much over NET and now it seems so insignificant. Honestly, if you're looking for admission in engineering tou it's tough lekin it's not impossible even with a sub par score, I mean I had a 128 and I ended up in several engineering disciplines. In the end it's not just your NET score that matters but also your matrix/olevels marks tou overall hou kar kuch acha aggregate hi banta hai. And also agar main campus mein nahi hota tou khair hai, the other NUST campuses are just as good, matlab party scene off hai eme mein lekin the faculty is way way way better than H12. I mean idk if you're an engineering student lekin if you are then eme ki computer engineering is really good tou wahan hou jaata hai tou that's amazing, also saari engineerings ka first year same hota hai tou you can migrate campuses after your first year agar gpa acha hou. zyaada tension na lou and just keep going and give it your best, end mein sab sahi hou jaata hai and you'll end up somewhere really nice. As a 3.23 cgpa graduate, best advice is to keep your gpa just above 3, that'll be all you'll ever need (unless you want to go for masters and become a teacher or something, or you want to apply for scholarships outside of country)
For job purposes, 3 is enough i swear. Learn communication skills which matter the most and have a career walkthrough session (either with a consultant or your own brainstorming against facts)
Invest your time in skills that matter, which are used in the industry. Though, the university gives you a good base to build any related concept of knowledge for a given job role, but shouldn't be taken so hardly. Explore the industry needs and have certifications for specific courses if you ask me. They will help you alot
For my experience, i graduated in 2021, and i can make around 113000 to 160000 pkr AlhamduliLLAH (depending on overtime and other incentives) i had no reference or sources, nor did i pay under the table for a job. Just skills on the right track. So yeah, figure your track and learn your skills.
