So I got screen protectors, not being sure that I would get one installed from the factory or not. I did, and I didn't want to risk it, so I just put a screen protector on the screen protector. Works great and is barely noticeable. I would take off the factory one if I could but I'm afraid to and bird in hand and all that

Which one? Do you still like it? What pen do you use with it? :) thanks!!

I use the regular pen that came with it, but I would like to get some new nubs because mine is squishing out. I love my Boox, but with some huge-oh caveats. I do not in any way use it like my iPad, and this is actually pretty great because I don't waste time on games or frivolous screen candy. I only pick it up when I want to work or read. The only really work I use it for is making notes. But it's awesome for that. I can't really explain why, because I had a very nice matte protector on my iPad Pro and it had color and more pen choices, but the feel of the Boox and the fact that the eInk is 'permanent' just gives it a different feel. Technically it's no better but it just feels better. And the AI that translates your handwriting into text \[if you ask it to\] is psychic. I find it easier to handwrite letters and notes sometimes and I don't have to chose, I write and let it do the work. Entering text in webpages is easier \[for me\] than using a popup keyboard in an iPad, but it has one if you want it. A-Number-One is being able to see it in daytime. The screen is at it's most beautiful in broad daylight. The flip side is the eInk is slow and sometimes the contrast on things that were made for color screens is poor. If you want to do iPad things on it you'll be disappointed and aggravated. If you want a page-sized kindle that can also be a Nook and a PDF reader and check email that you can use in the daylight, this is def your jam.

Boox have said it isn’t removable, so I wouldn’t risk it. Get an additional warranty if you’re worried about long term damage.

Lukedriftwood

Yes it's removable. But since it's laminated, it's not going to be a simple task. You may need solvent to clean up any glue residue.

hasdga23

Did you already try or where are your informations from? Since it is glued, it will be extremely complicated and also a bit dangerous for the device.

There was a post on this sub, if I'm not mistaken, where a guy decided to take his off. He was successful. But I didn't see evidence.

I don’t believe so. I think it would damage the screen if removed.
