Masla yahi, switched from ptcl to stormfiber for a more reliable internet but now Ptcl is more reliable...

NameSoon

True

[deleted]

Just get PTCL FlashFiber if it's available in your area. it's best in Pakistan right now. Their cables are underground so no bent or cut cables. I've been using it for over a year now and have faced no problem at all.

hotmugglehealer

All fiberoptic cables are underground afaik. The problem is the part where it comes from the pole to your house. That part is above ground and prone to breakages.

Fair_Product1740

Stop the cap ma dude 😂

Particular_Key_3644

no it's true, I got 35mbps ptcl copper cable and it runs smoothly and gives full speed. 4.0mb in downloads all the time. I never understood the hate against ptcl you guys do u mere to mazay.

AzlanAjmedyt2012

Im chilling with nayatell 300 mbps i get around 280 mbps

throaway_1992

god forbid you ever get an issue with ptcl. They'll make you die a slow death

IhtiramKhan

How much fees do you pay? And for what speeds?

Serious-Cover5486

ptcl ka connection mat lena sab say bakawas connectio aur service inki h

KeanuIsSouthIndian

PTCL FlashFiber is not the old PTCL. Been using it for close to 2 years now, have had like 2 complaints that were resolved in hours (and one of them was router change). Paying Rs. 5600/- for 100Mbps

_Emperor__

Live in AJK with total monoply of SCO(army own) they charge like 50ishk almost for 100mbps I have 10mbps( 1.7mb down) internet for 2700

iamAliAsghar

wow, nice

Pro-fess-SirZeero

5600 for 100Mbps? Naa kar.....

KeanuIsSouthIndian

They had a promotion, it was something like, "100 Mbps for 3800 (without tax) avail offer and enjoy the same prices for the rest of your life", needless to say I didn't think much about it. I've seen this promotion multiple times after I availed it, once around 14 August, during Ramadan this year and last, so I expect it to come back this August.

Pro-fess-SirZeero

I just checked. There's no coverage in my area in Lahore. Sad 😔

KeanuIsSouthIndian

That is indeed sad. But keep an eye out for when they do start coverage.

Pro-fess-SirZeero

That I will. I'm paying around 21k to this headache of a company but service is very poor now as compared to starting years.

KeanuIsSouthIndian

Let me guess, Stormfiber?

Mrleibniz

Any data limit?

KeanuIsSouthIndian

The standard, 3000 GB, I think. Never actually capped it, despite being an avid downloader. Edit: This is the "Fair usage policy (FUP)", I don't think there exists a truly unlimited internet connection in Pakistan.

Serious-Cover5486

thora wait karo sab samjh aajay ga,

KeanuIsSouthIndian

2 years bro, or kitna wait kero? Bill started at Rs. 4850/- and went up after like a year and a half (when literally every ISP around me upped their prices).

IhtiramKhan

Mai nahi le raha bhai. Me bas pooch raha tha wese kyunke mere paas StormFiber hai.

Any_Elderberry_7682

But for me ptcl best I download crew moterfest demo efootball 2024 cs 2 apex and many more all these download done in 4 days have 70 Mbps connection

WatercressMiserable2

Always has been.

midnightrider2492

Ok in their defense...no at the start it was one of the best internet one could ask for. But now....it's crap and by that I mean very very bad

fatty_16_is_dead

Stormfiber literally dies in the rain

AbdulAhaDox

Fr FR. thats how i know it is raining because the wifi is not working anymore.

Apprehensive_Rub9291

In model town rain was never an issue

theAarma

So far I'm in Karachi and the internet is working breeze with few hiccups but that are rare.

kaliph05

Where ever people rush, the company cant keep up with the growth and crumble.

apocalypse234234

You make make a complaint yourself on thier website and write whatever you want in it. Also say that the deliberately marked your unresolved issue as resolved. Also you should log into your router and check the minimum optical signal strength ( like -35 dB) and the current optical power (if there is any). It often happens that they have too many joints or splitters, each splitter must drop 3dB for each 1->2 so a 1->8 splitter will drop 9dB, so they need to increase repeaters which are costly. The other thing is each joint can drop 0.5 to 2dB depending upon how good and free from dust etc and well aligned it is. Now, the the data rate you can get is given by bandwidthxlog2(1+SignalToNoiseRatio) so if your Signal to noise ratio is 8 then it is almost 3dB so 10MHz bandwidth would give you 30Mbps speed max. The bandwidth is fixed by the design of your router and the infrastructure, that leaves behind the signal to noise ratio which depends upon the signal strength and the noise strength. I often saw that they marked as resolved while signal strength was -28dB while it should be above -27dB and router cannot detect below -32dB. So basically at -28dB, assuming noise is at -32dB the Signal to noise ratio is 4dB (-28 - -32= 4) so with 10 MHz I cannot get more than 40Mbps, no matter what package I am paying for. The hidden problem is that in summer the equipment heats up and that increases the thermal noise, so your internet becomes slower during the day and becomes better at night, but this only happens when signal strength is already very low.

DiscoShaman

Stormfiber - more like "Shit Storm Fibre".

muizz_4

Which city are you in? I've heard about people in Lahore getting bad service too. I have been fortunate not to have any issues yet. Still I'm waiting for nayatel to come to lahore so i can switch.

cyna3

Aoa wrwb If possible shift to fariya network or connect network.

brutaltomato_seed23

Fariya ftw

strrieve

facial same issue. cable was cut 3 days ago and they haven't fixed it yet. why this had to occur right before Eid!!!!

ScannerYT

Try PTCL flash fibre its also good I’m not gonna say that its outstanding because of course its PTCL they have to do stuff from which they are known for but still its good I’m currently using PTCL flash fibre with a package of 20 MB with 3000 + tax per month so……..you should try it

Serious-Cover5486

mere net bhi slow chal raha h bohot storm fiber nahi h

ImplementCute6394

thanks for telling me this i was lokey going to use storm fiber but i guess i will stick with nayatel as i have recieved little to no lag and there internet is down rarely

Unsyr

Looks like a bot in the chat

DesignerMastermind

BUT iF YU ARE CHANGING YOUR INTERNET DON'T GO FOR PTCL

kkdija

Which one then?

Hyat16

2007 ass speed right there

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hyat16

100mbps+ minimum honestly. But if u dont download large files or watch 4k120 etc... ig a 50mbps connection could suffice. dont know why u would opt for a 2.5mpbs connection in 2024

Dull-Ad8329

The connection is 72 mbps

Hyat16

u wrote 2.5mbps dont backpedal out of that😭

Dull-Ad8329

That's what it's showing on my pc when I'm downloading shi but I just checked the thingy my provider gave me and it says 72 mbps I'm not joking

Sexiboi21

PTCL FlashFiber for the win, best in pak imo rn

n3ov

Tell me about it... Applied for a new connection on 23 May and after frequent requests, they finally showed up on 11th June only for the internet to breakdown within 12 hours. Now my billing cycle has started from the 11th, eid is just around the corner so I don't think the issue would be resolved anytime soon. I'm just paying for zero services right now.

thegreatpopo

My God, I'm getting flashbacks. Used to have the same problem like 4 5 months ago. Service has been much better for the past 2 months or so. Pray that it gets better for you too!

51ballers

Stormfiber is working good for me in Islamabad. Had a couple of issues in 4-5 months but they were resolved. PTCL flash fiber pr switch krna tha likhen ab bas aagaya houn iss pr tou sai chal rhaa ye bhi.

FaizanBilla

Not my experience with them. I've had disconnect problems like every 3 months and when I complain they usually get resolved the next day staying true to their 24 hour claim. But I am getting tired of their internet dying when it rains or something like that. I was planning on switching to nayatel but at this point I would have to go through Hassle of getting stormfiber disconnected then contacting nayatel and paying 24k for first month then 3200 starting 2nd month. I pay 2970 monthly so it's gonna be a very costly switch for me so I just stay where I am now.

alihamzaa

At least they didn't pull the " scheduled maintenance" bullshit that all pakistani companies seem to be pulling these days.

Apprehensive_Rub9291

Been using stormfiber for 5 years never has there been a problem that wasn't resolved in a single day and they have upgraded our net for free many times. It's the same problem for location i think

nexusprime2015

I’m running Storm in wapda town Lahore since 8 months with no issues at all

AbdulAhaDox

It took them 6 visits to fix the issue. It took 3 visits to identify the issue (the router is broken) and then they did not come with the fucking router 3 times. They also marked my issue as resolved each time so a new team arrived everytime which did not know the previous progress. Like That is straightup a company cultural issue of marking unresolved issues as Resolved. Even then it often stops working a few times a week for 5-10 minutes (5 of my friends who also have storm fiber and they also live at basically opposite ends of the city have the same issue)

Shamsherr

Might be that there aren't enough clients for them to bother servicing your area. Ask your neighbours what internet they are using and switch to that, you'll get much better service when all of their internet goes down together.

WhythoO8

They only fixed our complaint after my dad made a post on Facebook calling them pathetic

mahiiin97

i also use stormfiber and in the recent months, yes, it has been god awful. we've contemplated changing but don't know what else to go for. a few weeks ago our internet went down too and i had to call CS four times and even then it took them too long. i live in lahore, would not recommend stormfiber to anyone anymore.

killourTeemo

They don't have a customer support. If you ask them to come and look into the router ( their router vanishes signal on a daily basis) they'll say its fine and won't register a complaint.

mahiiin97

Oh, no at the very least I'm able to talk to someone and get my complaint registered. But it doesn't excuse the quality of their service.

TheHexenPillar

stormfiber is ass dawg just ask around if you have some private wifi providers in the area, I get 90mbps from mine

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheHexenPillar

been 2 years almost and i pay 5k which is insane if you compare the prices to stormfiber

KeyCommunication1219

Had the same issue a few weeks ago, just call them and curse the shit outta them and boom, team's gonna be at your place in no time

CarOk7375

Why dont you get Nayatel if its available in your area. I have been using Nayatel for two years. Never experienced any difficulty and dont remember i have posted any complaint to them regarding problems of internet connectivity.

Fast_Win_3383

In Peshawar, everything is alright?
