Agree. Even though I'm getting the matrix personally, it's really nice to see that now the base headlights have some personality of their own instead of being a crapper version of the matrix.
I liked the “4 dots” daytime running lights on newer Porsches. I suppose I’ll get used to spotting these instead. Just kind of weird that they are different per model instead of the same across the brand.
I never really liked the old four dot design personally, but I am really digging the == == especially because 4 projector lenses per headlight looks really cool
I like the look of the parentheses better than the stacked pancakes, but I’d still go for the matrix lights - I live in the country (Canada where they are fully functional) and the active pixel management is just awesome at night.
The base option is too friendly for a sportscar. The upgrade is too aggressive and comical looking.I prefer the 992.1 options. However, it would not impact my buying decision.
The pancake stack only looks right with the flatter headlight profile of the Taycan. The round parentheses look correct with the round design of the 911. Putting the pancake stack in a round headlight seems incorrect.

The new matrix lights are similar to the 963 which is awesome and the standard and sport exhaust options are fantastic and flow way better than the .1

Everybody dumps on the 996 "fried eggs" headlights for combining the turn signals in the same assembly as a cost cutting measure. The new 997 was then hailed as a brilliant move to make the 911 look more classic and expensive with its separate turn signals and a more simple headlight shape. Its funny to me that now Porsche has done the 996 thing again and some people will say it looks more "clean" than the 992.

I wish the slats were a bit more back inside, they are pushed pretty forwards imo. It’s probably just one of those changes we get used to.
