Does the fog go away from the main quest? I literally spent like an hour flinging myself into the fog in random directions until I got to the main island
Shit, I was wandering around everywhere randomly for like 2 or so hours trying to figure out a way to wherever because I thought that would get rid of the fog, eventually I just found a sage orb, the random shrine and the door, couldn't even open it yet, hell at the time I discovered it, I didn't even have my first sage quest done, this is my current and **second(!)** sage. Nintendo really did give us too much power with these zonai devices.
You can make stronger bond with specific sage if you collect 4 medallions called "sages's will" and supposedly it makes a sage of your choosing stronger. You can wind them in the sky islands in the chest or fighting against sub bosses
So far I've only used it to explore the underground and break ores, since it is inmune to gloom. A bit too slow in my opinion, but it makes sense since it's a massive robot I guess

I'm surprised OP managed to get past thunderhead isles without story progression. I tried going there early and I couldn't see shit.
