Yeah pretty sure anyone who didn’t know about this also hasn’t yet figured out the that the fire/ice/lightning dragon horns deal damage corresponding to their element
When it comes to fire/ice/lightning, Gleeok horn are the best
Slightly more damage then dragon horns but more importantly they don't have to recharge at all
I’m at 20 hearts, max stamina, and already beat the game and I still avoid Gleeok’s like the plague. Those mouth lasers will still 2 tap me. I guess I just need to keep upgrading my armor, I was hoping level 2 would do but I still take tons of damage
I swear endgame enemies are WAAAY harder in this game. Before I could reasonably kill the hardest shit with level 2 armor, and at level 4 it became easy. It seems like level 4 armor is basically mandatory to farm endgame now, which is weird since endgame is kinda supposed to be getting level 4 armor.
I experience zero combat challenge really. Farming gleeoks is easy. You just hide behind a pillar to avoid lasers, climb it, jump and use a lynel bow to hit the eyes in slow mo. They go down spam their heads with a strong weapon. Then in their final breath find a way to go up high and again hit the eyes.
Ways to go up: wind, recall ice blocks, recall fallen islands, zonai contraption you set aside from the beginning like an air bike or air glider. Etc.
I use lynel bows with bombs to start, then when at least 1 head is down with the rest injured I swap to keese eyes, they don't usually get high enough to start their airborne phase
You can annihilate Gleeok's by using Keese eyes, makes them home on the head like nobody's business. Use a Lynel bow and they flap down on the ground instantly.
The final phase I haven't quite figured out yet but with a long range bow and keese eyes it's very doable.
In the ones I’ve fought so far (which is… just two, the Frost one in Tabantha, and the Thunder one in the Coliseum Ruins) there has been some gimmick or another that lets you match height in the final phase. For the Tabantha one, you can recall the ice spikes. For the Coliseum one, you can Ascend through the building.
Aha! That for sure would have helped in the >!King Gleeok fight!< haha.
Still don't know what to do for the fire one though other than eating the blast and riding the resulting updraft.
Well, there’s always Aerocuda and Gleeok wings of distance is your issue. That said, I’ve never used either one and I don’t know if they would actually solve the problem lol. The Zonaite Bow has the same effect using your battery too I think??
Shield guard prevents damage from lasers.
I drop a spring and hide behind it during laser attacks, hop on and hit it to go to bullet time. Nuke the eyes with bomb arrows.
I killed my first fire one without having level 2+ armor upgrades. The spring eats the lasers for you so you can just hide behind it.
Any savage Lynel bow (any modifier), some homing arrows and an even moderately high attacking weapon and they really can’t do anything to you.
I don’t know how much you’ve explored the depths, but I killed a particularly spicy one with level 3 soldier armour without much difficulty. Took I think 3 shots of the bow to make the Gleok fall down each time..?
I have the lvl 4 energy set and I take almost no dmg from them. Just be very careful with the lightning one, I highly recommend using the rubber set for it.
King Gleeoks final phase still 4-5 taps you at max health with 88 Armor (which I believe is the highest you can get, topaz earring, champions leathers and soldier greaves) and he can even stun lock you for 2-3 hits depending on how the attacks land.
I’ve read the strat (yet to try) is just take a spring or two so you can easily jump up to him an kill him before the bullshit starts
I read a suggestion somewhere to fight gleeok by just throwing down a zonai fan and spamming slowmo crits, and that works wonderfully. Took on my first gleeok with 12 hearts and 2 stamina wheels and succeeded first time. I've now killed one of each elemental gleeok and king gleeok, although king gleeok was genuinely really tough because of the final phase (the air currents the lightning creates are extremely hard to ride even when you're bobbing and weaving between them because it's also raining a ridiculous amount of ice spikes). King gleeok basically depleted my fairies, gloom cleansing, and healing meals, but I still beat him first try lol.
By being attached to a weapon……..
Description
A horn chipped off the Light Dragon. Its gentle glow has a calming effect, and it has a mysterious healing power when attached to a weapon.
ill be honest i was worried it would heal them for some reason- like a negative effect/punishment for harvesting light dragon parts since the implication
This was my thought as well. I assumed it would heal whomever it hit.
It sounds really dumb at first, but some games *DO* this kind of thing (*use the wrong element and you might heal the enemy - I think FF and Persona have done this before*).
I read them. But i don't lose health often. When I used it it didn't do anything for me. As I thought I would heal the gloom effect instead of regular hearts
Protip - Do this with a Zora spear (or any Zora weapon, found in Lanayru Depths from a shadow grave). Use Sidon's water bubble to make Link wet. Attack power DOUBLES for the given weapon. Link will stay wet for a good 30 seconds after the bubble disappears. Rinse and repeat with Sidon.
Healing and 60+ damage.
Def more worth taking the time to pop a chuchu/splashfruit and fusing something strong
zora spear+opal=34dmg(always wet)
zora spear+naydra horn=36(dry), 72dmg(wet)
The numbers get crazy if you pick up a lightscale trident and endgame monster parts
Yeah but the Opal doesn't add a whole lot. I think its 1 damage maybe?
It's a good idea if you could stack fuses, but ultimately it might be better to shove something else on the end of the weapon.
I wouldn't fuse Opal because it can be used to upgrade an armor piece and yeah if I'm gonna get double the damage, might as well fuse a silver Lynel piece in it, Sidon bubble to apply buff and go to town on one of the dragons.
I went down in the depths and found one of those ghost on a rock holding an uncorrupted version of the spear.
I could've gotten up to +10 damage but for what I'm using it for durability was better
Have you been able to use the rock octorock or is this a myth or am I doing it wrong? I dropped my item, it sucked it up, spit it out but nothing changed.
Champion and amiibo weapons cant be repaired normally by the rock octorok.
The way to repair then is attach the champion/amiibo item to a normal game item.
So far an example I equip a normal knight's shield and attach the lightscale trident on top of it, drop it on the octorok and it will be repaired.
To get the fused item back just to go tarrey town.
I don’t use amiibo stuff and am not sure if I was using champion items but I’ll give this a try. Fusing maybe 2 items. How do you know if it is repaired? Does it look different or just stops flashing red in the weapons menu?
If an item is at full durability it will have a spark on the main menu, if you have damaged all of your equipment at least a bit try picking up a new weapon and open the menu to see how it looks.
Also amiibo weapons are in the game without the need to use an actual amiibo, maybe you picked one without even noticing it was special?
For the record, the healing is only per hit not per damage, so I wanted the fastest hitting weapon
The quick charge on the Solider's spear made it ideal for this purpose.
Feel free to use any base, I was trying to maximize the healing by just stabbing
Theoretically you could get a normal corrupted solider's spear, light dragon scale instead of horn, and take off attack boosting armor to drop the damage down from 45 to 16.
More hits technically nets more healing
I like to think of it of it like grooming. Cutting her nails for them, cleaning up their horns. Maybe remove some loose scales or those painful-looking spike-hangnails
Works well with the master sword and okay ish with the gloom swords, its best application by far though is on your mining/chopping weapons, it still heals even on ores and boxes
How did you do the fast charged attack? I did it once by accident when mining ores but was never able to replicate it
Edit: It's Soldier's weapons' passive!
Well yes, that much I know. But if you look at the footage closely you will find that they're charging the spear up to the 2nd stage ridiculously fast, almost twice the speed as normal
Edit: It's Soldier's weapons' passive! Somehow I didn't see it in the OP
So what does a staff with a star fragment do? I got one in a chest. Just seems like a lightning ball type spell but wasn’t sure if it did anything beyond that.
All 4 dragons have 5 parts you can collect. Spikes, scales, claws, fangs, and horns.
Spikes, you just run down the dragon's back and collect them. The other 4 you have to shoot the part you want with any bow. The part will fall to the ground and you can pick it up.
There is a 10 min cooldown before you can get another part from the same dragon (doesn't include spikes)
For the light dragon specifically, I'd recommend doing the korok forest quest which makes the light dragon fly low enough to farm easier
Yeah I’ve gotten a scale before.
But wait, there’s a 10 min cool down for each one? So if I get a scale, I’d have to wait 10 mins to get a horn or a tooth? - Or I can get all 4 of the different parts then wait 10 mins to be able to get more
They only hang out for a few mins before they fly away lol
You would have to wait 10 min. The horns have a faint glow when you can harvest them again. Recommend saving beforehand if you're going for specific parts.
If you're doing a full dragon farm I've found that if I'm collecting parts from all 4 dragons, by the time I finish the 4th one the first is ready to collect again
I’m convinced people don’t read the item descriptions
Yeah pretty sure anyone who didn’t know about this also hasn’t yet figured out the that the fire/ice/lightning dragon horns deal damage corresponding to their element

Hate Gleeoks, hence the reason I'm still using dragon spears

Fire one let me fly by making an updraft from burning the grass. Homing arrows made it very easy to kill the whole time.
Yeah I think i used the Zonaite bow with aerocuda eyes, eventually did the job.
Wait until they shoot the blast. Run away. It hits where you were when it leaves their mouth. Run up to the updraft and fly up and shoot their eyes.
I ran out of arrows on the tabantha one and had to recall up into the air and hit it with my sword. Shit took like an hour but I got him.
With a Lynel bow and the correct elemental eyeball, I had taken Gleeoks to collapse with a single shot before
Use a rocket shield to launch into the sky
Shield guard prevents damage from lasers. I drop a spring and hide behind it during laser attacks, hop on and hit it to go to bullet time. Nuke the eyes with bomb arrows. I killed my first fire one without having level 2+ armor upgrades. The spring eats the lasers for you so you can just hide behind it.
but then you also realize that you can uh cheese gleeoks with a funny zonai laser tower too lol
Any savage Lynel bow (any modifier), some homing arrows and an even moderately high attacking weapon and they really can’t do anything to you. I don’t know how much you’ve explored the depths, but I killed a particularly spicy one with level 3 soldier armour without much difficulty. well, in all fairness… i attached a light dragon part to my shield hoping it would heal, and it did not, lol
I think it should but only on a parry Could be wrong
oh… hadn’t even considered that my 200+ hrs in sekiro can help me here
I have never gotten a light dragon part
I read it but didn't understand how it heals me
By being attached to a weapon…….. Description A horn chipped off the Light Dragon. Its gentle glow has a calming effect, and it has a mysterious healing power when attached to a weapon.

I thought it would just heal over time if you had it on a weapon you were holding tbh
I thought it meant over time, it didn’t clarify that it would heal when you hit something
I don't play games to read! 🤣
I didn’t even know you could get a horn from the light dragon
You can get a scale, claw, fang, and horn form all 4 dragons
I read them. But i don't lose health often. When I used it it didn't do anything for me. As I thought I would heal the gloom effect instead of regular hearts
You’re right, I didn’t have any idea after hundreds of hours
Protip - Do this with a Zora spear (or any Zora weapon, found in Lanayru Depths from a shadow grave). Use Sidon's water bubble to make Link wet. Attack power DOUBLES for the given weapon. And fuse an opal to the Zora spear for a permanent weapon buff because the opal keeps the spear wet for that damage buff.
kings scale does the same thing
Who's scale?
No he's on first
This isn’t getting enough upvotes.
It's for one of the phenomena quests
I thought king’s scale is one time use
Def more worth taking the time to pop a chuchu/splashfruit and fusing something strong zora spear+opal=34dmg(always wet) zora spear+naydra horn=36(dry), 72dmg(wet) The numbers get crazy if you pick up a lightscale trident and endgame monster parts

Yeah the opal doesn’t do a whole lot of damage itself but more so for buffing the spear. It is useful for a particular boss fight though.
Which one?
>!Water temple. !
Didn't know opal had any effect at all. Thats interesting, I ll try some things with it for 100%
kings scale does the same thing
Sidon is the only champion I have, how did I never realize the bubble genuinely makes you wet
Use it to help you explore the Gerudo desert or hot areas. Keeps you from taking damage as long as the bubble is active.
That is incredibly useful, thanks! Are there any other less-obvious fusion abilities I wonder?
Did you use a rock octorock on it or just Soldier spear and ld horn?
I went down in the depths and found one of those ghost on a rock holding an uncorrupted version of the spear. I could've gotten up to +10 damage but for what I'm using it for durability was better
Awesome, thank you for the response

Maybe. I’m not familiar with it though. Time to google me an example of an amiibo weapon. Thanks for your time.
Evidently I already have one from a boss fight. It’s biggorons sword. 😎
All new/repaired weapons and shields have a sparkle in the top right corner of the box they're in
Oh thank you so much.

I unironically think that the Soldiers spear is one of the best weapons in the game because of its quick charge effect
Time to go hunt me a light dragon.

Lmao that’s what I did before I did the geogyphs. Stayed on her head for hours beating the crap out of her and farming her body parts. Felt bad later…
I like to think of it of it like grooming. Cutting her nails for them, cleaning up their horns. Maybe remove some loose scales or those painful-looking spike-hangnails
That sounds better. I’ll think of it like that for now on…
Ooh the fang shards could be cleaning off plaque.
>!💀!<
This game has so, so, so much to discover.
DAMN
Works well with the master sword and okay ish with the gloom swords, its best application by far though is on your mining/chopping weapons, it still heals even on ores and boxes

To the troops. All the troops. On both sides.

Press and hold Y

I haven’t used it when not at full health, didn’t have any idea what it did, although this makes sense given the item description
What's up with that "Detected" status?
"Defeated" means they killed this Hynox at least once before.
Sorry, I can't read! Does it refer to that Hinox in particular?
Yes. The game seems to be able to keep track of each large enemy. And there are a lot of large enemies.
HOW?
[удалено]
Just... don't say that part. It's unnecessary.
>!I mean, the knowledge of what you just did is a part of the challenge of getting light dragon parts!<
I feel like adding that spoiler was 100% unneeded and didn’t add anything to the comment
Ok thanks
reading the description i assumed it healed enemies and never tried it

What happens if you use it a full hp do you get yellow hearts?
