On the one hand: They are never where you need them, when you need them.
On the other: They move outta your view when you aim something (a throw, your bow or even the camera) so as not to block your shot. Which is *amazing* when I think about every game ever that has companions that walk right in front of you most of the time.

One time I tried to get the loot of a gleok and tulin wouldn’t stop going in front of me which made me accidentally activate his ability and blew away all the stuff to nothing.
Love my little bird companion. He’s so cute but deadly. I just wish I didn’t have to be right next to companions to use their abilities lol feel like im chasing them around (other than Tulin ♡ hes my flying bud and turret)
Things like these makes me wish we had multiplayer in Zelda, would be so cool to fight some bosses together and stuff

Tulin doesn't fuck around.
Tulin feels like the only fully fleshed out companion in the whole game. They only half programmed everyone else

Tulin and The Construct are the only 2 AI’s I feel that work. Mainly because Tulin uses range over all the other’s AI melee attacks.
