Yeah the dragons themselves are far inferior to Veldora but they can alter their surroundings to their liking wich makes the floors much more difficult.
Ofcourse defeating Veldora isn't on the table anyway.
Imagine defeat a dragon thinking your almost done only to run into one of the strongest beings in the world who doesn't have to worry about killing you
The dragons are a downgrade themselves, they come after Kumara, Apito and ZEGION... Anybody who can defeat Zegion will wipe the floor with those dragons.....and then proceed to become playthings for Veldora.
Not really. That’s normal gameplay. Remember, every 10 floors is a “Boss” floor, meaning that the monster on the floor is much stronger than those on the previous floors.
As 100 is a multiple of 10, Veldora is considered a “Boss” monster. And not only is Veldora a “10 Floor Boss”, he’s the final boss of the entire dungeon. He is expected to be the hardest challenge in the entire dungeon.
It’s a level curve essentially. Weaker Dungeon Explorers will be limited to the lower level floors, while only the strongest competitors will stand a chance, therefore encouraging people to grow stronger.
The Labyrinth is not supposed to be doable. In games there‘s a beatable final boss, but that’s not the case here. Floor 1-99 are a game, designed properly and possible to beat, floor 100 is just a nope to anyone who tries. (No way Rimuru‘s gonna pay someone for clearing it)

Don’t you think going from Zegion to Dragons is a massive downgrade in difficulty? The whole labyrinth is basically unbalanced after floor 59.

Hinata soloed the dungeon until lvl 99 and was played with by Veldora. So yeah, rimuru and the author knew what they were doing lol

Well you will see that the dragon lords are about the same in terms of strength and not close to most others in the labyrinth
