Alright it does look like a caucasus beetle but I couldn't find any evidence that caucasus beetle exist in japan and in the chibi tensura spin-off rimuru goes hunting for stag beetles.
Yeah but by what beetle would a Japanese be more inspired, by one that exists in the same country or by some beetle that does not, and in the end it's Fantasy so like you said fuse will put in whatever he wants.
its almost certainly a caucasus beetle. neither stag nor rhinoceros beetle have 3 "horns".
to be fair tho, i do not remember how it was described in the LN, and "a mix between a stag and rhinoceros beetle" could very well be exactly how it was described, for all that i know. this is just based on the manga illustration.
Zegion is a great Bug starter. I think it evolves into Fight, Steel or Water depending on how you raise it. It even has an ability to cancel the Fire weakness when Bug/Steel. It can learn Water, Psychic and Dark moves, and if you take it to Move Tutors Veldora & Raphael, it can learn Dragon & Ghost type moves.
10/10 would recommend.
there are multiple sites that host them for free. literally google "tensei slime 107 manga read" and click the first link from "tenseislime" dot com but other sites will have it aswell.
just dont go there without an adblocker like ublock, unsure how usable those sites are without it.
That guy was a great fighter. It took me awhile and a few new moves but damn was he a boss to be reckoned with, glad I got to move on in the ******** but I kinda wish I could fight him again.

It's cardinal world, not japan, of course fuse would put anything he want there (including all those beetles)

I've just realized it recently, maybe that's how fuse describes caucasus beetle since it's not a japan-native insect from the very start
that might be the case. or maybe how "rat" and "mouse" traditionally were both just "ねずみ" nezumi in japanese (which largle just means rodent)
