Q: Did I see that the Avett Brothers are in fact going back into the studio this spring to work on a new project?
A: We sure are. It’s really just a matter of the stream of creating and making songs for Seth and I is constant. It’s sooner for us to go than normal into the studio, we’re much less prepared than we normally are when we go in– but we know that it’s time. I don’t know why we know that, but we’re just eager to remain in that stream of songs. I think people should keep their eyes open but no further details than this– we plan to at least have another release this year if all goes well.
True. Or we could have another Magpie situations on our hands. I believe after The Carpenter dropped they went back to the studio to polish up a few more songs (Open Ended Life?). Lord knows they have plenty left over from True Sadness and CTT.
We sat next to Mike Marsh on the plane coming back from the Beach. He told us that they have around two and a half albums worth of songs already recorded that they’re just trying to figure out how to use.

...so pragmatically we’ll see it in 2022. Been an Avett fan long enough to recognize this pattern.
