My theory is that Japanese vtubers have a strong relation to idol culture. Those who are deemed unattractive would not be encouraged (or even discouraged) to pursue becoming an idol. This results in a larger than average number of attractive people honing idol adjacent skills which are necessary for becoming a popular vtuber.
Well, also most VTubers were regular streamers to begin with, some were even idols litteraly, or had solid experience in show business... or even erotic works ;)
While they didn't show their faces, or only partially, they had to be at least attractive to gather some views.
The Asian genetic timeline 10 looks like 10, 15 looks like 11, 20 looks like 15, 30 looks like 25, 40 looks like 28, 50 looks like 30, 60 looks like 40, then 65 looks like Asmongold. Tale as old as time.
