For some reason whenever Randon is live, his stream lags like crazy for me. However, it's ONLY his stream. Earlier today when he was live Kiara was as well, and I could watch her stream just fine, but the minute I switched over to Randon it kept spazzing out every 5 seconds and skipping like crazy. This happened the last time I wanted to watch him as well - what gives?
Anyone know why that's happening to me?
It's the reverse for me. Randon works fine, but Kiara's streams often spazz out like crazy if I have the chat open recently. And it's the same with other members.
This started happening to me a couple months back, but only on PC using Firefox, and only for Randon. I just switch browsers now to watch him because nothing else I tried seemed to work.
Have you try viewing on the mobile YT app?
When this issue happened to me on desktop, switching to mobile kinda fix the issue for me. What would happen is that your stream will lag behind the actual stream by a few more seconds, but there will be less stuttering.
I'm thinking it might at least be partially something on youtube's end.
The connection was much more stable when I started watching his Subnautic streams on Twitch.
Could experiment more and hop between each service next time he goes live.
Same with me for Beni. Quite odd that none of the vspo girls or any JP vtubers I watch lags so bad as Beni. I'm guessing its the OBS setting that different?
I suspect it's some kind of low latency streaming setting. If I don't turn that off on twitch the stream becomes very low quality, if only youtube allows me to turn it off.

Unrelated to vtuber but something that's probably in the alley of some people here.
Question for the VN (also dating sim) enthusiasts: is there any VN from big name developer that uses L2D for its CG or bust image? L2D seems to be underutilized in the VN medium, which is strange because it's EVERYWHERE in the gacha market (which is heavily influenced by the VN medium) and, of course, in vtubing. Even TM did not use L2D for both Tsukihime remake and Mahou Tsukai no Yoru port and I'm sure that they have the money for that.
Admittedly, I rarely follow the VN/dating sim industry nowadays so maybe I'm missing something recent from the likes of Nitro+ or Key. Nevertheless, I think L2D could be something that can reignite some interest in this old medium. >!Also don't get me started on its potential for games on the ero side of things.!<
Both [Lose's Maitetsu](https://www.dlsite.com/pro/work/=/product_id/VJ013196.html)(1) and [Alcot's Clover Day's Plus](https://www.alcot.biz/product/cld_p/cdpe.html) use a similar technology called [E-mote](https://emote.mtwo.co.jp), so the technology is there and being utilized. As for the ero potential, Clover Day's H-scenes does use it pretty well imo, can totally recommend it(thanks Elite Miko for introducing the game to me). Though if you're focusing on the erotic aspect of L2D sprites, there's an entire bucketload of R18 gacha games with L2D at Fanza that you can download through the DMM Games Store app. I personally recommend Twinkle Star Knight, which is based off [Lillian's Twinkle☆Crusaders](https://www.lillian.jp/kurukuru/index.html) series, notably implementing an updated version of the [battle system](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWLWC2KoCeE) from the original games that is honestly quite addictive.

Can't help with your question but I recently started a sci-fi yuri ADV VN called [Hayasaki no Kuroyuri](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1931940) and it uses Live2D. It seems to be the debut work of an indie dev and Fukahire-sensei does the art.
Nikke uses Spine, not Live2D. Most of the [Nikke Asset visualizers](https://nikke-db.pages.dev/visualiser) call the models "Live2D," but they're actually utilizing Spine for the animations, as [the game files they use](https://github.com/Nikke-db/Nikke-db.github.io/tree/main/l2d) are in the .skel format, from Spine, rather than the [Live2D file formats](https://docs.live2d.com/en/cubism-editor-manual/file-type-and-extension/), which makes me think they're using Live2D as a misnomer for character models. From scanning forums it seems like Spine is more popular because skeletal animation is more common in general and is better for posing characters, as opposed to Live2D's mesh animation which is great for real-time face tracking but not very useful for video game animations.
Yup. I also consider gacha as the main successor of VNs but with its monetization on steroid. Heck, most modern gacha games such as Arknights and FGO are basically VN with gameplay slapped on it.
I also haven't been touching VNs for so long. I was really big on Key before but I haven't touched their Summer Pockets or Stella of the End.
But I remember a nukige that has very animated sprites and CGs that the quality really impressed me despite it being, well, a nukige. Not sure if it comes from a big VN dev, but anyway the title is >!Rondo Duo!<.
But anyway, I'd imagine if the sprites move too much, it'd probably be a bit distracting readers from the story. But if the goal is to become a proper side dish like nukige, I think it'd serve its purpose.
Holy Matsuri! I just checked Rondo Duo and turns out that the dev is Tinkelbell, an old player in the nukige industry. Technically they can be considered as the early adapter of proto-L2D technology since the 2000s. It's funny to think that the vtubing industry might have one of its roots connected to nukige lol.
Not much in the mainstream VN games, but you are seeing more erogames on dlsite using L2D. The circles there have a more ‘can-do’ attitude and learn to animate + rig their own models for their games, which justifies adding on another ¥500 for making the extra effort. I feel mainstream VN publishers are stuck having too low sales and higher overhead costs to make that effort.
Yeah, I also suspected that money would be the main issue. The industry is past its heyday and now is difficult to make profit. That's why most of the big names moved or diversified to other media such as conventional game development (Leaf), anime production (Nitro+) or franchise licensing (TM).
as a professional sex pervert i really really really doubt most of these companies have enough money to do l2d. zero fuckin chance, this shit does not sell to a wide enough audience and you're not exactly getting much reuse out of a custom rigged animation that doesn't even have an actual human behind it. h-l2d is mostly done by smaller artists as far as i can see and from what implementations I've actually seen of it it kind of gets repetitive? sex scenes are usually longer than like...4 minutes or whatever. sex movements are repetitive, why bother animating something so repetitive? not a good use of one time resources imo, also games are long as fuck

I don't know if any other JP Holomem has talked about the new 3D Live system before, but Kanata did in her Bunny Garden stream yesterday, and she mentioned that the Live she just had might be her last Live with guests, in particular now that Cover only promises Holomem one Live a year.
To be sure, her last Live with guests was like 2 years ago, and Kanata has always been really focuses on solo Live, since she has serious musical aspirations. But still, it was at least possible in theory and now the chance of a Live with guests is apparently vanishingly small, which I think is unfortunate.
But I suppose Kanata has to do what is best for her, and her duet with Risu (or Ayunda, rather) and her performance with AZKi, Ayame, and Lamy are probably the best sending off possible.

I would imagine it gets more due to the quality of the studio. I doubt cover will stop picking up more talents and the only real way to get more throughput from the studio would be to have more studios.
But, if it's worth it from someone to pay for their live provided they have guaranteed studio time and fly there from the US to do so then they're apparently very much worth it.
Oh, I was just referring to how JP Holomem were not quite guaranteed 2 3D live one for their BD and one for their anniversary, so even someone who's really serious about her music like Kanata could have a Live with guests once in a while. But now that the policy is explicitly 1 Live a year, Kanata would (presumably) want to focus on herself first.

Anycolor right now has a collaboration with ASAP Club, an energy drink, with Kanae and Kuzuha doing a stream promoting it. i dont know the exact details, but i think part of the promotion was their recommendations with the energy drink. for some reason, anycolor staff recommended that you can mix the energy drink with soju, [as seen on this tweet ASAP Club did](https://twitter.com/asapclub_/status/1787865623214850092). i couldnt find any tweets or reports, but supposedly, there were reports of japanese fans actually attempting to mix the energy drink with soju and then ended up going to the hospital due to palpitations and other bad symptoms. whether those reports are true or not, regardless, it was bad enough that the actual Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries [tweeted out a PSA to not mix caffeine with alcohol](https://twitter.com/MAFF_JAPAN/status/1788118637293051965). ASAP Club then [tweeted this out which was basically damage control](https://twitter.com/asapclub_/status/1788147522927829221), saying that they proved that mixing soju with their energy drink is safe to consume, but also ends the tweet saying that you should be drinking alcohol in moderation

Even after knowing the dangers of mixing alcohol and caffeine stuff like Jaegerbombs and Irish Coffee still persist, but I read that people were mixing the energy drink with soju 1:1? WTF??? Putting aside the health risks for a moment, why would you mix liquor with anything other than another type of liquor or a flavoring bitter/liquer 1:1? Highballs like gin&tonic or rum&coke are at the bare minimum 2:1 mixer to liquor; if the ratio's smaller than that you're just destroying the flavour of both the mixer and the liquor. Am I just being a snob? Then again, back when I drank I'd drink whisky and gin neat; the only cocktails I regularly ordered were Caesars because I really like Clamato. So I'm probably the weird one here.
Tbf you normally should drink soju in a soju/shot glass (60ml), so 1:1 from a soju glass (30ml of soju, 30ml energy drink) sounds tame and safe to me, but personally I would only be able to drink 2-3 shots since I have a low alcohol tolerance

The problem with energy drinks + alcohol is that people who drink alcohol often don't know what "moderation" means and both energy drinks and alcohol on their own can fuck someone up when consumed in excess.
Like, what could ever go wrong after popping 3 cans of red bull and two bottles of soju in one go, right?
Mixing with soju is yikes - it has a reputation of a very easy to drink alcohol but because its alcohol content is somewhere around 16-25%, that shit can hit in really bad. Mixing it with caffeine seems like a recipe for disaster.
Problem is that soju is extremely easy to drink, like I have more trouble drinking a can of coke than soju. Mix it 1:1 with an energy drink is a one way ticket to Crunkville if you’re not careful or can’t moderate.
As a person who would regularly go twelve loco deep before the formula changed, this is kind of a head scratcher. Like yeah, don't mix your uppers and downers in large quantities, but also that's ultimately the responsibility of the person doing the mixing and drinking to moderate themselves.
Seems like a bad idea for an energy drink company to advertise something like this directly even with it being very common. I know Redbull has put it doesn't recommend mixing with alcohol on cans in the past probably to avoid liability for people screwing it up/not understanding moderation.
Considering their viewerbase is largely composed of teens and young adults, the type of people who are famously bad at moderating themselves, this was understandable.
Don't forget that in the West, there's already been a lot of trouble over energy drink promotions by influencers, which Vtubers can be seen as.

Niji is very large in Japan, with 100+ talents in that country alone. And their audience is correspondingly diverse, with different vtubers catering to different age groups and genders.
If anything, median Niji fan in Japan should be on the older side, when compared to a more general vtuber audience, simply because the company has been active and popular there for so many years.
The fact that some people here are claiming that Niji audience mostly belongs to one specific age group just shows how little they know about the topic at hand.
All that being said, I agree that suggesting an alcohol + energy drink combo was really irresponsible on their part. Alcohol alone is a touchy subject, but a public figure should not suggest a cocktail like that to a general audience, regardless of age groups.

That data looks way too weird. I can't believe Touhou (東方Project) fans would be that young (23-24 on that chart) on average. I would expect them to be above 30 at least, considering that Touhou franchise has been going since 1996 and has passed its peak of popularity a decade and a half ago.
Edit: And it's not just that Touhou fans are way younger than they realistically should be, that graph also shows them as one of the youngest demographics period. A video game series originating in the 90s, which was known for its very high difficulty and fairly poor graphics, which has been past its peak of popularity for more than a decade now (or even a decade and a half), to have one of the youngest demographics? it doesnt matter if vodka + red bull is a commonly mixed drink, what matters is the content of said drink. there should be some moderation in mixing said drinks due to the level of caffeine mixed with alcohol. having unmoderated amounts of caffeine mixed with alcohol is highly dangerous and shouldnt really be casually said in a promotional stream like this
No, it’s worse because the coffee will basically dull the buzz that you get from alcohol, leading you to drink more of the coffee and alcohol mix. Even someone who can drink in moderation might end up over drinking just because they don’t “feel” drunk.

So it's a total amount of 500ml of caffein cocktail. Which means they has just recommended you to drink something equal to 10 shots of Jägerbomb. And because this mixture will mask the drunken effect of alcohol, you will be more likely to finish the whole thing. That will fry your throat, your brain, your liver and your kidneys.

It was credit card. Debit card fraud is very hard to address and takes months to fix. They have to confirm it since it's money that is already out.
Very likely, she does many transactions with her card that the suspicious transactions get lost in the list and the extra expenses go unnoticed.

For some reason whenever Randon is live, his stream lags like crazy for me. However, it's ONLY his stream. Earlier today when he was live Kiara was as well, and I could watch her stream just fine, but the minute I switched over to Randon it kept spazzing out every 5 seconds and skipping like crazy. This happened the last time I wanted to watch him as well - what gives? Anyone know why that's happening to me?
It's the reverse for me. Randon works fine, but Kiara's streams often spazz out like crazy if I have the chat open recently. And it's the same with other members.
This started happening to me a couple months back, but only on PC using Firefox, and only for Randon. I just switch browsers now to watch him because nothing else I tried seemed to work.

Have you try viewing on the mobile YT app? When this issue happened to me on desktop, switching to mobile kinda fix the issue for me. What would happen is that your stream will lag behind the actual stream by a few more seconds, but there will be less stuttering.

Question for the VN (also dating sim) enthusiasts: is there any VN from big name developer that uses L2D for its CG or bust image? L2D seems to be underutilized in the VN medium, which is strange because it's EVERYWHERE in the gacha market (which is heavily influenced by the VN medium) and, of course, in vtubing. Even TM did not use L2D for both Tsukihime remake and Mahou Tsukai no Yoru port and I'm sure that they have the money for that. Admittedly, I rarely follow the VN/dating sim industry nowadays so maybe I'm missing something recent from the likes of Nitro+ or Key. Nevertheless, I think L2D could be something that can reignite some interest in this old medium. >!Also don't get me started on its potential for games on the ero side of things.!<

Can't help with your question but I recently started a sci-fi yuri ADV VN called [Hayasaki no Kuroyuri](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1931940) and it uses Live2D. It seems to be the debut work of an indie dev and Fukahire-sensei does the art.
Nikke is one of the few gacha that actually utilizes full size (instead of chibis) L2D in both VN cutscenes/lobby and gameplay that did get big.
Nikke uses Spine, not Live2D. Most of the [Nikke Asset visualizers](https://nikke-db.pages.dev/visualiser) call the models "Live2D," but they're actually utilizing Spine for the animations, as [the game files they use](https://github.com/Nikke-db/Nikke-db.github.io/tree/main/l2d) are in the .skel format, from Spine, rather than the [Live2D file formats](https://docs.live2d.com/en/cubism-editor-manual/file-type-and-extension/), which makes me think they're using Live2D as a misnomer for character models. From scanning forums it seems like Spine is more popular because skeletal animation is more common in general and is better for posing characters, as opposed to Live2D's mesh animation which is great for real-time face tracking but not very useful for video game animations.

Yup. I also consider gacha as the main successor of VNs but with its monetization on steroid. Heck, most modern gacha games such as Arknights and FGO are basically VN with gameplay slapped on it.
I also haven't been touching VNs for so long. I was really big on Key before but I haven't touched their Summer Pockets or Stella of the End. But I remember a nukige that has very animated sprites and CGs that the quality really impressed me despite it being, well, a nukige. Not sure if it comes from a big VN dev, but anyway the title is >!Rondo Duo!<. But anyway, I'd imagine if the sprites move too much, it'd probably be a bit distracting readers from the story. But if the goal is to become a proper side dish like nukige, I think it'd serve its purpose.
Holy Matsuri! I just checked Rondo Duo and turns out that the dev is Tinkelbell, an old player in the nukige industry. Technically they can be considered as the early adapter of proto-L2D technology since the 2000s. It's funny to think that the vtubing industry might have one of its roots connected to nukige lol.

Not much in the mainstream VN games, but you are seeing more erogames on dlsite using L2D. The circles there have a more ‘can-do’ attitude and learn to animate + rig their own models for their games, which justifies adding on another ¥500 for making the extra effort. I feel mainstream VN publishers are stuck having too low sales and higher overhead costs to make that effort.
Yeah, I also suspected that money would be the main issue. The industry is past its heyday and now is difficult to make profit. That's why most of the big names moved or diversified to other media such as conventional game development (Leaf), anime production (Nitro+) or franchise licensing (TM).
as a professional sex pervert i really really really doubt most of these companies have enough money to do l2d. zero fuckin chance, this shit does not sell to a wide enough audience and you're not exactly getting much reuse out of a custom rigged animation that doesn't even have an actual human behind it. h-l2d is mostly done by smaller artists as far as i can see and from what implementations I've actually seen of it it kind of gets repetitive? sex scenes are usually longer than like...4 minutes or whatever. sex movements are repetitive, why bother animating something so repetitive? not a good use of one time resources imo, also games are long as fuck not to mention do you want to open up the annoying gate that is lip syncing a 2d model?

I don't know if any other JP Holomem has talked about the new 3D Live system before, but Kanata did in her Bunny Garden stream yesterday, and she mentioned that the Live she just had might be her last Live with guests, in particular now that Cover only promises Holomem one Live a year. To be sure, her last Live with guests was like 2 years ago, and Kanata has always been really focuses on solo Live, since she has serious musical aspirations. But still, it was at least possible in theory and now the chance of a Live with guests is apparently vanishingly small, which I think is unfortunate. But I suppose Kanata has to do what is best for her, and her duet with Risu (or Ayunda, rather) and her performance with AZKi, Ayame, and Lamy are probably the best sending off possible.
So does this mean Kanata won't miss a 3D anniversary even after hosting today's 3D concert?

I doubt cover will stop picking up more talents and the only real way to get more throughput from the studio would be to have more studios. But, if it's worth it from someone to pay for their live provided they have guaranteed studio time and fly there from the US to do so then they're apparently very much worth it.

Oh, I was just referring to how JP Holomem were not quite guaranteed 2 3D live one for their BD and one for their anniversary, so even someone who's really serious about her music like Kanata could have a Live with guests once in a while. i saw this in r/kurosanji, and wtf Anycolor right now has a collaboration with ASAP Club, an energy drink, with Kanae and Kuzuha doing a stream promoting it. i dont know the exact details, but i think part of the promotion was their recommendations with the energy drink. for some reason, anycolor staff recommended that you can mix the energy drink with soju, [as seen on this tweet ASAP Club did](https://twitter.com/asapclub_/status/1787865623214850092). i couldnt find any tweets or reports, but supposedly, there were reports of japanese fans actually attempting to mix the energy drink with soju and then ended up going to the hospital due to palpitations and other bad symptoms. whether those reports are true or not, regardless, it was bad enough that the actual Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries [tweeted out a PSA to not mix caffeine with alcohol](https://twitter.com/MAFF_JAPAN/status/1788118637293051965). Even after knowing the dangers of mixing alcohol and caffeine stuff like Jaegerbombs and Irish Coffee still persist, but I read that people were mixing the energy drink with soju 1:1? WTF??? Putting aside the health risks for a moment, why would you mix liquor with anything other than another type of liquor or a flavoring bitter/liquer 1:1? Highballs like gin&tonic or rum&coke are at the bare minimum 2:1 mixer to liquor; if the ratio's smaller than that you're just destroying the flavour of both the mixer and the liquor. Tbf you normally should drink soju in a soju/shot glass (60ml), so 1:1 from a soju glass (30ml of soju, 30ml energy drink) sounds tame and safe to me, but personally I would only be able to drink 2-3 shots since I have a low alcohol tolerance

The problem with energy drinks + alcohol is that people who drink alcohol often don't know what "moderation" means and both energy drinks and alcohol on their own can fuck someone up when consumed in excess. Like, what could ever go wrong after popping 3 cans of red bull and two bottles of soju in one go, right?
Mixing with soju is yikes - it has a reputation of a very easy to drink alcohol but because its alcohol content is somewhere around 16-25%, that shit can hit in really bad. Mixing it with caffeine seems like a recipe for disaster.

As a person who would regularly go twelve loco deep before the formula changed, this is kind of a head scratcher. Like yeah, don't mix your uppers and downers in large quantities, but also that's ultimately the responsibility of the person doing the mixing and drinking to moderate themselves.
Seems like a bad idea for an energy drink company to advertise something like this directly even with it being very common. I know Redbull has put it doesn't recommend mixing with alcohol on cans in the past probably to avoid liability for people screwing it up/not understanding moderation.
Considering their viewerbase is largely composed of teens and young adults, the type of people who are famously bad at moderating themselves, this was understandable.

Niji is very large in Japan, with 100+ talents in that country alone. And their audience is correspondingly diverse, with different vtubers catering to different age groups and genders. If anything, median Niji fan in Japan should be on the older side, when compared to a more general vtuber audience, simply because the company has been active and popular there for so many years. The fact that some people here are claiming that Niji audience mostly belongs to one specific age group just shows how little they know about the topic at hand. All that being said, I agree that suggesting an alcohol + energy drink combo was really irresponsible on their part. Alcohol alone is a touchy subject, but a public figure should not suggest a cocktail like that to a general audience, regardless of age groups.

That data looks way too weird. I can't believe Touhou (東方Project) fans would be that young (23-24 on that chart) on average. I would expect them to be above 30 at least, considering that Touhou franchise has been going since 1996 and has passed its peak of popularity a decade and a half ago. i think you kinda missed the point it doesnt matter if vodka + red bull is a commonly mixed drink, what matters is the content of said drink. there should be some moderation in mixing said drinks due to the level of caffeine mixed with alcohol. having unmoderated amounts of caffeine mixed with alcohol is highly dangerous and shouldnt really be casually said in a promotional stream like this

What you drink is a cocktail recipe vetted by professional bartender. 1 or 2 shot every now and then is fine. However, that recommendation was from an amateur with no bartender qualification. Let's do some math. One bottle of soju is about 350 ml. Adjust for alcohol content, it's about 250 ml of Jaeger. And one can of energy drink is about 250 ml. So it's a total amount of 500ml of caffein cocktail. Which means they has just recommended you to drink something equal to 10 shots of Jägerbomb. And because this mixture will mask the drunken effect of alcohol, you will be more likely to finish the whole thing. That will fry your throat, your brain, your liver and your kidneys.

Also, no, 10 shots of Jägerbomb will not fry anything, you will maybe feel like shit the day after, but that's it. 10 shots a day for a prolonged period of time is another story, though.

The fault should be slightly be more on ASAP. Red Bull has had similar controversies. They learned by labeling all of their cans to not mix with alcohol, and sponsors can’t use or condone alcohol with Red Bull. Maybe she's using debit cards that doesn't notify you when transactions are made. Pair that with some websites (such as airbnb) somehow not needing OTP to do transactions, well that'll be hell. Most of the credit cards i know of here provides notification either by SMS or apps
It was credit card. Debit card fraud is very hard to address and takes months to fix. They have to confirm it since it's money that is already out. Very likely, she does many transactions with her card that the suspicious transactions get lost in the list and the extra expenses go unnoticed.
It really depends on her bank whether to give notification by default or not. Mine does not, although I do check my statement before I paid for it (and to ask for annual fee waiver if that appear)
