What's wild to me, is the people that leave their house without their ID.

HWTechGuy

I always have carried some form of ID, ever since I got my first student ID as a kid. Boggles the mind, these people...

The homeless people and these crazies are why Wawa gets negativity, all depends on the store and store’s community. Earlier this year I made 10 phone calls alone about a homeless dude stalking teen girls.

OTFfanaticRunRepRow

I have no idea why customers get worked up about having to pull out an ID. Literally, who cares?!

HWTechGuy

I walked up to pay for my stuff and there was a guy berating the cashier (teenage girl) for asking him to provide ID (which he didn't have). I watched for a few seconds and when I felt he crossed a line I spoke up and so did another guy who walked up behind me. He sheepishly walked out the door, got into a car, and drove away (but supposedly didn't have his ID).

People get too mad about getting carded. In my experience, it’s mostly the 20 somethings that fuss over this. I had a guy in his early 20s curse me out and tell me to kill myself because I wouldn’t sell him cigarettes without an ID. All over a lousy pack of cigarettes.

bendaboy291

Yeah it’s fun. My store is a test store in NJ and some of the sweetest customers unfortunately turn into monsters. Like I’m on camera. I’m not getting fired so you can get cigarettes. It’s just not worth it.

You can use a birth date.. most my customers have passports because they are foreigners.. they can’t be scanned.. so I understand why people don’t want you to do it. There’s more information on that than people realize. So I can’t wait until it’s over.

In my store, we have to ID everyone no matter what their age is. We care for ages 21 to 100 years old. Some people get a kick out of it when you ask for their ID. Some people will cut you out said I don’t have my Id on them so I say no ID no cigarettes blunts or tobacco. I said so many times I’m just doing my job and my manager tell me I have card people if want tobacco stuff. My manager told someone you are welcome to call Corporate and let them know that e does not give your cigarettes etc

It's awesome that you apologized for how long this post was going to be but at the end you perfected the craft of being able to, in very short, completely summarize the entire story 👍👌🤣 AND ONLY WITH 3 SENTENCES MAY I ADD 👌👌🤣🤣 very nicely done mate

violetttxox

I heard some stores are testing the card everyone rule. Doesn’t matter if the pass over 30 or not. I card most people, I don’t wanna risk it

Asking a 70 year old guy for ID, how small is the cashier’s existence? I’ve been buying cigarettes at Wawa for years and have never been asked for ID, I’m 47. Sounds like a excessive display of “authority” by a cashier. Ps. I leave my house all the time, if my wife is driving, I’m not grabbing my wallet for the 4 minute ride down the road.
