Second this! Recently got into yugioh and although i’ve been enjoying advanced format (mostly online on master duel) i just started playing GOAT format with a friend and it’s so much fun. It’s way simpler and less confusing, highly recommend it!
Its kind of difficult unless you want to play some boring old format so i think it would be better to play decks that all functionally have the same card text with a simple game plan like crusadia or something so there are few total effects to memorize since low text is rare in modern yugioh
Yeah, you are right, but I have some different decks, and I use the older ones when I play with someone new who just want to play a bit and kill time, so I'm not really trying to make something usable in modern games

3 Heart of the Underdog, 1 of each piece and the other 32 are normal monsters (probably something with high attack or defense like the world chalice monsters). Boom, simple and stupid 😂

Damn bro, I though it would be nice to have a super easy deck to have fun in a short time with people who never played before, and has no real business in playing in other situations, shouldn't this subreddit be newbie friendly?
Try playing goat formate. It's a very well liked retro formate of yugioh from 2005.

Pure tenyi maybe? Based around non-effects and all the effects are pretty straightforward. Also has a low-ish power level without the swordsoul cards.
there are several pendulum monster that have few text like igknight, metalfoes, and majespecter. And normal pendulum deck is a thing.
There is also the speed duel box. Battle city comes with eight decks from YGO Battle City era so it’s much smoother

Metalfoes or Igknight, maybe?
Crusadia with kaiju... sure those cards have a bunch of text on them but most of the time your not using the effects, mostly the summoning conditions.
Look into draconia normal pendulum monsters. I don't think they get enough love. Super fun way to play normal monsters
