Paid ones USUALLY give a push notification and IIRC a little money symbol on the pulse. Usually get them during the day time, on a work day, most commonly Wednesday.
The paid ones have a money symbol in the top right hand corner, you can go into your settings and choose to get notifications for just paid ones, or for both if you want to build up your points & get paid more per pulse, I'm at 21c now & only do the paid ones & I reach the $20 cashout threshold each month
