However, Jasper is stated in the cartoon while Jinx is unnamed in the cartoon and simply used by the writing team, so it could still be done. Even if they are technically different characters, I would love to see this as a reference.

A correction: seems I am an idiot because they do have Wiley, but it is still weird to put them as separate characters. I get they are, but it makes less sense since they have multiple costume versions normally. It is kind of like when they put Samus in her armor and zero suit in separate slots.

I was under the impression that his name was actually Gerald Jinx Mouse, but this was from the 2021 Tom & Jerry movie. I just learned today that his name is Jerome A. Mouse 🤔

His name was originally jinx in his first appearance according to Hanna but Barbara (the creators) maintained he didn't have a name. Wikipedia gives his name as Gerald. So I think that's the official name and Jerome was a one off.
Tom was also name Jasper in his first appearance. His official name is Thomas Jasper Cat Sr.
