To be completely fair I had a hiatus, and keeping in mind afaik 1200 is the highest starting role, it's no wonder my lack of expertise brought me down and entirely possible I got overrated players who were easy for me when I started
Had that too but for early 600, then grew to 850 in a single week. Keep practicing, if you can play against players stronger than you. That helped me grow immensely.
Wouldn't worry. I went from 1086 to 963 after an enormous tilt. Sometimes you just have to stop playing and accept that you're not playing well and that mentally you're not right. Whilst it's intoxicating to just "play one more game"... when you're tilting you drop Elo like crazy.
Play 1 or 2 games after doing some training. If you're still shit after that just give up and do something else. Your ratings will thank you for it
Well, I kept playing against someone roughly 400 higher rated than me for fun at one point, and I lost about 20 times in a row. Thankfully, I set them all to be unrated games.
Does anyone here top a 12 lose streak? I'll wait.

I play with a mate irl and online who's 800 - 900 elo and plays chess at a club, got trophies for chess etc and I've lost 75 times and won once... am 300 elo. Game link here: Check out this #chess game: ThisUsernameIsFalse vs Quicksilver131 - https://www.chess.com/live/game/77889770719
Yeah, I get that those are irl tournaments, but l (at least in Spain) I have never seen seen a trophy for such a low-level competition. Probably it's just a difference between countries
Complete losses ( not counting draws): 7.
Losses and draws in total : 10
( I tend not to count draws as a loss though, but I guess thats something that changes with perspective).
Lol donāt do this, I used to, but tilt absolutely exists and the more you tilt the more you lose. Iāll usually not play more than 3 games in a row, but if I play more itās only because Iām winning, if I start losing Iāll stop and pick it back up another day. Except blitz cuz fuck my blitz rating lol
well, on lichess it shows me a losing streak of 8 and a winning streak of 17. On [chess.com](https://chess.com) i had a winning streak at the start, as i probably clicked the wrong option for the initial rating.

Same
When I dropped from about 1300 to 900 when I got into chess
Damn, from your rating role, it seems like you didn't recover.
To be completely fair I had a hiatus, and keeping in mind afaik 1200 is the highest starting role, it's no wonder my lack of expertise brought me down and entirely possible I got overrated players who were easy for me when I started
You can get a starting elo of 1600 if you select advanced.
How can i set that rating role?
Nvm found itš
I just stop playing if I keep losing or making blunders. I have like 2 - 3 good chess days in a week :D
Same. I climb to about 750 in 1-2 days, think that Iām getting better, then fall back to ~640 for a week.
stuck at 500 for months I make zero progress
Had that too but for early 600, then grew to 850 in a single week. Keep practicing, if you can play against players stronger than you. That helped me grow immensely.

Feel you š«”
I have learnt to take short breaks, if I am on a losing streak and am getting tilted.
I didnt win a game in 10 games(lose/draw)
Once went 14 without a win. Loss, draw, then 12 losses in a row.
When I played the bongcloud because my friends told me to. My elo still hasn't recovered
Try kings gambit tumbleweed variation
Fondled by uncleā¦ woah š³
What happened to Fondled by Uncle 1?
He's now the fondler of the second one
I think 13 has been my longest so far
12 but also I kept resigning on my own
Well, I kept playing against someone roughly 400 higher rated than me for fun at one point, and I lost about 20 times in a row. Thankfully, I set them all to be unrated games.
It feels like you're losing your mind. Usually, if I lose 4 times in a row I step away from chess for a bit.

I like playing on my Laptop and use reddit on my phone, cake boy.
Where do you get those stats? I know chessdotcom shows your winning streak in the full statistics, but haven't seen anything about losses.
Lichess, the best site
Ngl, those are amateur numbers, i am pretty sure mine 15+ but i am not able to find where the losing streak is shown
I started playing a few months ago, having no experiece... I went fom 600, to 350 in a day. :( I just crossed 1050 today though, so i'm improving.
This applies to any ranked online gameā¦ after 2 or 3 straight losses, sometimes it is better to just take a break and play another day.
Something like that. 1 min bullets mainly
Probably 8-10 as well
Infinite
9 w/o resigning, 30 or so with resigning

Heās got trophies at 800-900 elo?
Just what I was thinking. Where the hell are there tournaments with trophies which can be won with just 900 elo?
Irl tournaments, he's been playing since he was young and he hasn't been on chess.com for long
Yeah, I get that those are irl tournaments, but l (at least in Spain) I have never seen seen a trophy for such a low-level competition. Probably it's just a difference between countries
Ten in a row
I got from 1100 to 500 elo without winning once
nice
9 or 10, streaks are correlated with my mood. My all time graph looks like a yoyo!
I have yet to win a game against a human or stockfish level 3. Iāve played at least, say 50 games or so lol
Damn came back 2 months later and nothing changed. Iāve been there too many times
6 in bullet :(
At the very beginning, when I started playing again after almost 30 years, it was around 50. Now streaks are max 5-6 games
Painful
Bro these are rookie numbers
Nice of you to think I have ever won
Not very sure, one time i went from 1200 to 950 :(
5 lose streak. I thought mine was pretty bad but it's one of the lowest compared to the others here š
I want to play a game
Probably like 4-6
9
About 50... of course I was playing against stockfish at the time.
Life
Probably when i started, longest was 5
14 lol
6, but a mixture of 4 rapid games a daily and a bullet
7 but 6 of them were draws so not lossesā¦still some felt that way, I donāt play online.
8
Not a losing streak but I once dropped from 2170 to under 1900 in bullet in several days
Your problem is you only reviewed 1 of your games. I hope you put the rest into lichess
Idk, but it is definitely from one of my 3 am 1 min bullet sessions.
I remember losing 10 or so games in a row to go from 350 to 250 back in 2021.
From 2003 to 2023
Im currently in its, and its at 9. One more I think magnus carleson shows up at my door to beat me with a golf club
21 years 9months
Bro I haven't won a game š
I'll tell you when I win my first game
Right now, as soon as you join chess.com, you wonāt win for easily 10 + games
I have played 758 games so far, so letās seeā¦..758
I went from 1000 elo to 712
Idk the exact amount of losses, or how many consecutive but a week or two ago I went from 1730 to I think as low as like 1490 in the span of 2 days
76
12 or so it was a really bad day
23. But brand new to chess, so I dropped from 800 to 300 real quick and then I finally started to learn more
5. And then 5 wins in a row came after.
Complete losses ( not counting draws): 7. Losses and draws in total : 10 ( I tend not to count draws as a loss though, but I guess thats something that changes with perspective).

32 games. dropped from 870 to ~500
Like 5
holy fuck that guy played with a %90 accuracy
48, playing blitz games against my cousin who is much better than me.
15maybe
iāve dropped from about 1000 to around 880 before. Iām back up to 1100 tho
The top one hits hard.....seems like time doesn't solve all your problems.
In a row, worse streak was 12 losses. However, during a 2 week period I went from high 2000+ in blitz to 1700 and that stung
Idk like 7 or smth
I hope you review each one of those games slowly.
What its like being filipino
It seems like a list of people Fondled by Uncle.. š
I think about 20 games but i was always pretty hammered when i logged in to play š
21 years, but in chess probably a few games.
happens and it feels like there's nothing left in life, but you know what nevergiveup.gif
Bro hasnāt won a game in 3 months

30 years... Oh, you meant chess?
Is there a way to check without manually going back through my archives?
7 in 290 correspondence games since December 2020.
I'll tell you when it ends!
2. _.

I got super high and my brain decided it would have been a great idea to play chess. I went from 760 to 615ish.

48 in lichess bullet
Last week I dropped from 930 to 850. 10 games lost in a row I think
32
11
Iāve lost 4 out of the last 6 and lost 6 in a row before that
I'll let you know when it flips.
7. I have a fairly balanced W/L ratio of 56/58 (not that many games, but still)
People win games?
5 i think
I lost my way from 900 to 300
5-6 I think. But I've had 8-11 winless streak.
6 games No idea how you guys keep playing when on such massive losing streaks.
1600 to 1300 in a single day
Was on a business trip for a couple of weeks and went down from 600-500
3 years of daily match
I think 14
I think one time I lost around 200 elo in a single sitting. Deleted chess from phone and didn't play for a week or so
From 800 to 500 elo in one day.
