[[Wojnarowski] DeMar DeRozan will sign a three-year, $70 million-plus deal to join the Kings, sources tell ESPN.](https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1809774483256889466)

jeric13xd

Thanks for the memories. Kept us relevant and was a great vet to our youngins šŸ«” KING OF THE FOURTH

imp_st3r

His back to back New Years Eve game winning 3 pointers are some of my favorite Bulls memories šŸ˜„

jeric13xd

All time Bulls moment. I remember I was at the hospital getting tested for Covid streameasting the NYE GAME šŸ˜

The_Realist01

Streameast has saved me thousaaaaands.

Good-Rooster-9736

My girls balled their eyes out when I told them Demar is gone. He had a big impact during his short stint. Will always love Demar

wtf0208

KING OF THE FOURTH!

Forward_Machine_740

Thank you demar

PawelW007

This. Thank you for bringing your best you everyday.

OhiOstas

There is a lot of words to type about frustration & praise, but overall it should just be saying ā€œThank you DeMarā€. He brought his best to the court, for his teammates, and for saying weird quotes to describe situations šŸ˜‚ Thank you DeMar

IcePicks_WSG

When I think back to this era of the Bulls, my second thought after "Curse the Lonzo injury forever" will be "Damn, DeRozan made some *clutch* buckets for us"

ILLmurphy

Cash considerations makes his glorious return.

DongleThaDon

Those second round picks are going to be juicy trade assets for more cash considerations.

persons777

I'll never forget when the Bulls sold Jordon Bell for $3.5M.

DongleThaDon

Best trade Reinsdorf ever made according to himself probably

philphan25

I totally forgot about that. And then he came back on a 10 day a few years later. I know it didnā€™t really work in the NBA for him, but he couldā€™ve at least been a big body for a bit.

Alfonso_kabob

That was so overblown at the time, Bell never turned into anything

persons777

He was a useful role player on a championship team. The bigger problem is that the Bulls would rather get cash than try to find a useful player.

Beginning_Pudding_69

How do we not get any firsts for AC or Demar? Anybody?

dpucane

Keeping the White Sox vending machines filled the rest of the year

Erice84

I imagine one full vending machine is at least a year's supply for them.

porkbellies37

People not going to Sox games also keeping those vending machines filled.Ā

Ioptk

Glad to see him finish his career in Chicago

RiamoEquah

Finish? He's just getting started!

OutOfFawks

MVP MVP MVP!

jmaca90

Cash rules everything around AKME

GreedyLoad1898

yeah and that 2nd pick is going to be cash. fk jerry.

windydruid

Got my $3.5 mil shirt ready to go!

Dylan245

Duarte and two 2nd rounders for an unrestricted free agent is a great haul

DongleThaDon

Donā€™t forget cash. Reinsdorf isnā€™t doing a deal unless thereā€™s cash coming back

RoonSwanson86

![gif](giphy|8RuJ23GPbruW4)

dawnofthedunk_

Duarte is not good. I doubt he will crack the rotation. Letā€™s see what the seconds are.

MrHersh

Duarte is on the last year of his contract. At worst he continues to suck while we rebuild and is gone after the season. At best he miraculously turns into something and is a restricted free agent. If we hold on to Zach and Lonzo actually plays he might even get waived. He'd likely be behind Zach, Lonzo, Coby, Giddey, Ayo, Jevon, and probably at least one of Terry/Craig (if not both) on the depth chart. Not a whole lot of minutes left after everyone else eats their fill. Would have been nice to get our first back from San Antonio but they're not that stupid.

BaseHitToLeft

At this point we pretty much have to keep Zach. He has no trade value. Run the offense thru him, build his trade value up, & let the young'uns grow. He'll look a lot better when he's getting way more reps and someone will be interested at the trade deadline.

AddieCam

These are the types of guys you take a flyer on in a rebuilding year. Rather have this than some 35 year old journeyman.

chitownbulls92

It's better than having Derozan leave on a free so ill take it

jeric13xd

Heā€™s atleast an average 3pt shooter. Thatā€™s already better than everyone except Coby and Ayo lol

Fit_Test_01

Pat shoots 40 percent from 3.Ā

king_of_the_bongos

If he plays

91-92-93--96-97-98

And if heā€™s confident enough to shoot. Weā€™ve become so enamored by 3FG% but 3PA is so damn important in that eval.

poopy_mc_pantsy

His career 3-point % is 3% under league average lol, bulls had 6 better guys than that last year

The_Unbeatable_Sterb

Yeah. Thatā€™s why we got him.

jump-blues-5678

Who cares, we don't have a second till 2046

noneym86

Wasn't he like good his rookie year? I swear I remember him at least being serviceable.

ItIsYourPersonality

2nd round picks are basically whatā€™s currently sitting in my garbage can waiting to be placed at the curb.

The-Wizard-of_Odd

Agree, and a 17mil TPE (if we use it) I'm pretty pleased overall

91-92-93--96-97-98

Narrator: They didnā€™t use it.

Indianakid2334

Imagine dealing him at the deadline so we could of gotten the most out of dealing him

redditsuckbadly

Iā€™ll just pay attention to the two draft picks because Duarte sucks

chitownbulls92

Yeah an actual rare win by this FO

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jdaqcruz

Tell me which lottery bound team goes to the tax lol

RiamoEquah

Spurs did nothing but take the second best player in the trade and were rewarded with a first round pick..must be nice to have an org thinking about building a winner

buttholez69

Wait we get Duarte? I read it as Duarte and Barnes to SA, and we get two second round picks and cash Lol gotta love getting downvoted for asking a question šŸ˜‚

jojosoccer

No we get Duarte

bootssaffron

I read it the same at first. Woj skipped an Oxford comma

TheRyanFlaherty

Yeah, I just saw the news and was trying to work it out in my headā€¦.my initial thought was thatā€™s barely anything, but then remembered he was a FA, so a couple lotto tickets is better than literally nothing.

CHllP

Is cash going to start or come off the bench?

ItsAPizza19

Traded for Goods, shit role player

Joliet_Jake_Blues

Traded for many peanuts

IMKudaimi123

Good to get two seconds cuz we barley have any Duarte is not good but wing depth I guess. I canā€™t even say he has potential though. Heā€™s already 27.

GreedyLoad1898

spurs made out bandits they stole a top 10 pick then swap from kings from demar deal.

csh_04

They still have to renounce one for the Lonzo tampering right?

Accomplished_Bid7987

Nah they already docked our 2022 one for that

csh_04

Ah ok.

brineonmars

CASH!

infiniteimperium

We were high in him in the draft. Now we got our guy!

Christophilos

Glad we were able to at least recoup 2 seconds for him. Gonna miss the King of the Fourth. šŸ«”

inevitablescape

A backup guard and two 2nd rounders is an okay return

calculung

For a free agent who could've just walked away, I'd say it's great. Probably could've gotten a better deal at last year's trade deadline, though.

eco-evo

But then we never would have made the play-in. (/s in case it wasnā€™t obv)

A1Horizon

I know youā€™re joking, but the funny thing is we still wouldā€™ve regardless. Atlanta collapsed hard when Trae went down, Toronto blew it up and Brooklyn was ass to the point where we had the 9 seed locked up regardless of what trades we made. (As long as we didnā€™t make ourselves Pistons level bad)

BillionsofRedditors

Idk. There wasn't a big market for DDR. Like it seemed like a protected back end 1st for DDR was unlikely. I think they got close, if not more, than they could have gotten at the deadline.

AddieCam

Demar is a true pro. 2 of his former teams helping him get more money.

SmartestNPC

Haven't thought about that, wow. He helped the Spurs with a pick and got the Bulls some cash. They made the deal happen, that's love on both sides.

Suhrenitys

kendrick told us lmao

[deleted]

LOVE YOU DEMAR!

Fixner_Blount

Iā€™ll miss DeMar :( He was one of my favorites in the league before he got here, and it was awesome seeing him in a Bulls uniform. Total pro while he was here too. I wish him the best.

Tonkathedog

Not a bad return considering he couldā€™ve left for nothing. Duarte has continuously lost minutes since his rookie year but wonder if he can do more if given a larger role here and 2 2nds is more than I expected Best of luck to Deebo for the rest of his career, dude balled out here and unfortunately the Lonzo injury derailed any chance of remotely competing

AlienCrashSite

Funny how up until this week the rumors have been heavily about Zach and Vuc getting shipped.

Tonkathedog

Those rumors will definitely continue but nobody wants them. Kings were one of the last teams in on Lavine but this takes that away and most teams donā€™t want a big like Vuc in the modern NBA especially for 20 a year. Just sad that players with real value recently have been held on to the point where thatā€™s their value across the league(even Demar considering what we couldā€™ve gotten before) but at least now they realize the direction they are going

mxdj

Rooting for DeMar that dude deserves it.

_chuckiefinster

Favorite bull since Derrick

bigbear7898

Massive W

tomseymour12

Fuck it for Flagg

bulls369

Thank you demar šŸ«” Low key love the Duarte flyer, why not

inL1MB0

Yeah, Duarte had a great rookie year. He'll get more minutes here and maybe it'll pay off. Personally, not a fan of DeMar's fit in Sacramento. Sabonis plays inside like Vuc and Fox needs the ball in his hand like Zach. They have more shooting around them I guess

Neat_On_The_Rocks

Cause he sucks. Guess itā€™s a body though. Really think theyā€™re dumping Zach lol. These 2nd wonā€™t be here long boys

Obi_Wan_Gebroni

Absolutely loved DeMar. Yeah he had his flaws but he gave his max effort every single time he took the floor and played basically every single game when available. Thatā€™s saying something when some players around the league like to take their nights off.

Huger_and_shinier

To get anything for a UFA is a good deal.

phillipacarroll

so what did the spurs give up? do they just get a free player lol

BlitzinJz

Took on salary the bulls didn't want

kemnett

These breaking trade stories definitely need to come with more information, lol

gucciplat0

not one but TWO SECOND ROUND PICKS!!

JustCreated1ForThis

Hey NBA used to go to 7 rounds in 1985.

Mikaeladraws

THERES 5 CASH CONSIDERATIONS OUT THERE!

weareallmoist

Happy for DeMar but I have a gut feeling the Kings could suffer from early onset LaVine/Vuc/Demar syndrome, hope Iā€™m wrong. Fox and Sabonis are certainly better than Zach/Vuc but itā€™s not a dissimilar structure. Either way, happy he got paid, one of my favorite Bulls. Edit: should also say Keegan is better than P Will will ever be so maybe itā€™ll work!

Parking-Tree9012

Better than he will ever be is insane glazing lol

skullcandy541

Yea idk about the fit either. Fox is like Zach but needs the ball even more and is a worse shooter and then Sabonis and Vuc are basically the same player on offense expect Sabonis has the ball in his hands more running the offense, and doesnā€™t shoot the 3. Theyā€™re better players overall but it almost seems like a worse fit in theory lol weā€™ll see

Fafoah

Both are better and more willing passers which i think k should help

ThrobbinRicke

Duarte seems like Denzel valentine 2.0

MisterAutomatic

Thank you, DeMar! Good luck in Sacramento! I will always root for you!

Slugginator_3385

Demar has jumped into my top 10 favorite players from his time with the Bulls. Best of luck in Sac-town my sweet Prince.

Few-Practice-498

no huerter tho

BlitzinJz

The bulls already said they don't want salary

sukari

We didn't have to lose a pick and we get money? Wow. AKME putting in the work this year. Thank you for all the memories and mentorship for the young Bulls, DeMar šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™

cubs1978

Let the tanking begin

A1Horizon

To me the tank doesnā€™t start until two of the mid 3 are gone. For now itā€™s still ā€œlight rebuildā€ mode for me

kingjuicepouch

Unless Zach and Vuc both return to prime form we'll be bad enough to tank even with both of them sticking around, I think. Moving demar was the most necessary step since he's a significantly more impactful floor raiser

rcjr66

We tank?

Chuckles795

King of the fourth šŸ˜

implosionsinapie

This is the best case scenario going in to the offseason. Something to celebrate!!

zerodius

Good luck, DeMar.

RzaAndGza

Unrelated to Bulls talk, I really like Harrison Barnes and CP3 as veterans in the room with Wemby. He's gonna learn a lot this year.

InsideHangar18

Now we just gotta get rid of Zach and Vooch. Then we can finally tank

VanillaGorilla4

Now Paw can finally get some reps in at the SF slot consistently hopefully

dajadf

Goodbye to the best player we'll see for awhile

dentedpat

Two second rounders and an expiring? Smart move by the FO.

_JayCee24

Despite everyone bitching about this dude in the game threads I will always love Demarā€™s Bulls tenure

oathkeeperkh

Go get em Deebo šŸ«”

Lupdalup

I'll always root for him and wear his jersey. Good luck Demar

SgtPeppersReprise

Hey not bad

arealPointyBoy

what happened to duarte since his rookie season?

illyxpink

Time here wasnā€™t very long but it was impactful. Thank you for everything DeMar. Iā€™ll continue supporting you in Sacramento and wherever else you end up. Hope the kings get your farther than we could

tremble01

If there are not protections on the 2nd round, that's actually nice.

problemat1que

Good.

thatguyad

DeMar was too good for the Bulls era that he played in. Hope he has success.

InnerBeauty1

Great trade. Now time to boot Levine šŸ‘

Dannyzavage

We should reboot lavine you mean.

BlammoSweetums

Deal seems fine? I can understand not being happy because the FO should've blown it up earlier for maximum asset management, but they didn't, so it is what it is. DeMar was great on the Bulls, I enjoyed watching him.

RobinChilliams

Looks like I have to pick a new favorite Bull. Is Dalen Terry still on the team?

Deepstatedingleberry

Back to irrelevancy šŸ˜¢šŸ˜¢

ggthrowaway1081

Damn we're gonna be so ass this year. Poverty franchise

Chicagoj1563

One of the best closers in the game. Havenā€™t seen a bull pull off what demar was able to since mj. I also think he adjusted his game to help the team. Main reason his heroics werenā€™t the same as when he first joined the bulls. Hate to see him go, but know itā€™s necessary.

TrillMurray47

Cash considerations! Jerry always gets his man.

Drclaw411

I wonder if itā€™s awkward during negotiations when our front office gets asked what they want for a player, and they have to respond that the main focus is cash for the owner.

FadedToBeige

you act like that money goes directly into Jerry's bank account lol

SmokimNoah

Was one of my favorite players in the league before he was a Bull, but didnā€™t like the signing for what we were becoming. But he blew my and everyoneā€™s expectations out the water.. we got prime Deebo. Great player and great guy. His run here was special šŸ«”ā¤ļø With that said, Iā€™m really exited that heā€™s gone and we can finally play a different brand of basketball. Itā€™s time to get modern baby!!!!!!

VintageMoonDream

To say Iā€™m grateful as a fan is an understatement. Thank you for kicking ass when it was necessary. Thank you for always supplying the professional and mature response to the wins and losses. Thank you for never getting injured and sticking to the secure starting 5 of the team. Iā€™ll always respect him for going out each and every night and trying his best. He helped other players become better and had the mindset of ā€œfuck youā€ which goes a long way in sports. Iā€™ll be watching Sacramento when I canā€™t watch the Bulls. What a great player.

RedGreenPepper2599

Ah, Jerryā€™s favorite part of the deal: Cash

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Consistent_Cash_6666

Agreed.

Fit_Test_01

No one wants Zach. Kings were one of the few with legit interest.

alba7or

Jerry and Cash considerations, name a better duo.

VitalDread

Now time to flip Vooch and Zach at the deadline Let's get this rebuild in full swing

PinchMaNips

Congratulations DeMar!

mrose1491

Thank you Deebo

21-hydroxylase

šŸ«”

DeepBug1120

Does Duarte fill our open roster spot?

WITHERDRAGONYT

Im gonna miss DeMar man :(

barcelona725

How does this impact Zach LaVine?

Dannyzavage

He boutta drop 35ppg

Intelligent_Bag_9383

Please take care of HB!

YannyYobias

Wouldā€™ve rather have gotten Chris Duhon

Rakatok

This offseason is going about as well as I could have hoped. Main downside so far is the one team who seemed to have interest in Lavine is out of the running, probably stuck with him this season at least.

woodie1717

Get in here letā€™s gooooo

-Darkslayer

What happened to the Kevin Huerter rumor? Heā€™s exactly the type of player we should want

Kwanza_Bot93

I'm sad šŸ˜” but it was expected

BillionsofRedditors

Wondering when these Kings picks are. Bulls don't have any 2nd round picks until 2028 so it would be nice to have sooner assets. That said, like most of the 2nd round picks this draft got traded so I guess maybe as assets you could still trade them if they are like 2028 and 2029, for instance.

traveller76

Good tenure and good trade.

photo_matt

Maybe they'll waive Duarte

Donnie_the_Greek

Damn, total wins 21.5

PostingForFree

At least the Bears will be entertaining this year. I hope Chicago can send a message to the Bulls org this season by tanking attendance numbers at the UC.

MasterWinston

Demar a legit Bulls legend. I'll miss him. I don't understand why anyone is defending the Bulls return. We could've and should've gotten a 1st.

snowthekid98

Of they don't retire his number for what he did within his 3 years imma be so mad. Also Rodman should've has his number retired by now.

snowthekid98

If*

blacklite911

Good luck to Damar, so glad theyā€™re finally blowing it up though. Better late than never I suppose

tremble01

It is very Bulls to reject the unprotected pick swap if it means paying the tax. This team has not been in contention for almost a decade and it will be for another. Jerry is a cheapskate.

buttholez69

Meh, this better mean weā€™re tanking hard next year

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

We5ties

Giddy isnā€™t nothingā€¦

kemnett

Lol, what do you think you're witnessing these last couple of weeks.

SaveADay89

Cash? How can we continue to be fans of this joke franchise?

The-Wizard-of_Odd

You are under no obligation

Ripperrino69

Thank you Comptonā€™s finest

Cinco_5

What a Meh ass trade from a Meh ass franchise.

stolos26

Cash considerations WE BACK BABY!

caxlmao

wow. we actually got a decent haul, didnā€™t think you had it in ya AK

Impossible-Car-9873

Cooper flag here we gooo now trade Vuch

yohxmv

I appreciate his time in Chicago. Another all star talent wasted by horrible management. As for the return getting 2 2nds back is nice, Duarte is whatever. Letā€™s hope Vooch is next

zedrix_

Thank you Deebo. Im surprised we got that good of a hual in a imminent DeMar departure. I hope DeMar would be in a good place. He passed on a $80M two year extension. Ended up with $70M guaranteed. I read $59M for two years then likely $11M partially guaranteed on third season.

cargoman89

Imagine trading demar a year ago lol. Oh well better than nothing. Hope the kings can make a run

OneLoveFree

Just hope we can tank this year

IWouldLikeAName

Buying his jersey if i can next check loved him while he was here wishing him the best

ArchangelZero27

Got his jersey 2 days ago when I found out he is going. Good thing was discounted and paid extra 20bicks to add his sig to the jersey number. Can't wait for summer to wear it here

TotalFNEclipse

Cash considerations always relative this time of year. Mind-numbing

JB_JB_JB63

I bet Jerry asked if he could get more cash if we didnā€™t take the picks. Thanks and good luck Demar. One of my favourite Bulls ever. Nothing but class.

Lysol20

JR should be forced by the FBI to sell the Bulls and White Sox. Both of these franchises are hopeless.

isw2424

The ā€œcashā€ pisses me off to no end. Doesnā€™t go towards the cap, doesnā€™t go towards facilities, just more cash in our loser ownerā€™s pocket. 38-42 and a play-in game loss incoming. Groundhog Day all over again

JZobel

Itā€™s a routine throw in, it has nothing to do with the return. You were never gonna get a 1st round pick in a sign and trade for a 35 year old unrestricted free agent

illini81

Nah, we're a 25 win team next year.
