This time of year is so hard. I am so sorry you are in this place with your family. It shouldn't be this way. My sister overdosed last night. She took some fentanyl and crystal meth, got in a tub, passed out and drowned herself... on Thanksgiving day. Just finished my 9 hour drive to be with my family.
Life is real shitty sometimes. But right now I'm just thankful to be around my family. I was in a dark place last night, suicidal even. Being forced to make the drive home, talking to everyone, checking up on the people I got left. I'm just happy to be there for my family and the people I love.

We men who had physically or emotionally absent fathers often drift into very dark places. I have been there. If you want to talk about it, let's do it. If not, I can suggest the book "Absent Fathers Lost Sons". It's a very brutal read though.
