The rationale is that if all you have to say is "wow, nice!", that's what the upvote button is for. If all 160 people who upvoted posted a comment, the thread would be massive with no real substance.
This specific instance is worsened since you said "underrated comment" when it's the most upvoted comment here.
Idk, I don't feel all that particular about it either way, but that's why.
"Underrated comment" has probably collectively received more downvoted on Reddit than "a sense of pride and accomplishment".
Reddit has a button for underrated comments. It's an upward facing triangle. If you feel a comment is underrated, click it.
Yes. Problem is, it has 16k+ upvotes, so im sure mods wont'r remove it even if it brakes rules of this sub. Hope this sub won't turn into a karma whoring sub.
I see the problem. The spoon is mounted off center. He need to make the adjustment and try to keep spoon in center. It was the eccentric motion causes the spill
Drills have more torque than dremels, and dremels go faster than drills. They’re also strengthened for different types of forces. With a drill, you go straight. With a dremel, the shaft of the bit is constantly receiving bending forces that must be resisted.
Also, there’s no dremel in this video.
I saw your comment and, at first, felt bad for my flippant response. Then I thought: this sort of tool would make absolutely no sense for folks with motor disabilities; they would still have to move the spoon from one place to another without spilling. What you’re thinking of — and correct me if I’m wrong — is a self-stabilizing utensil.
Reminds me of The Avengers. Tony is standing at Nick Fury’s command station with two monitors and covering one eye says “how does he even see these?”
Maria hill says “He turns.” Tony says “sounds exhausting.”
At first, it looked like the cup exploded to me. I was like, goddamn that was a fragile cup.
But then I saw it just threw the cup to the side. So yea, totally could have worked if not at an angle and pushing on the bottom. The spinny spoon even looked like it had different speeds

You've clearly never shared espresso with those from Latin American countries, which are traditionally served in a variety of ways in which they are sweetened - either through steeping the grounds with sugar, sugar cane, or creating a sugar foam to mix in prior to serving.
Open your world view. There are immeasurable ways to enjoy espresso, and entire cultural aspects evolved around them. Turkish espresso is boiled in sand, and served very sweet! Southeast Asian countries use sweetened condensed milk. In Africa honey and butter are used, as well as other spices, and that's where the beans were discovered.
Just because a few places in Europe decide to forgo adding anything to their espresso doesn't make it the only "right" way to drink it.
I churckled. But in all seriousness, let me pass on a trick I learned on many many cold mornings when I was a soldier in the US Army:
Put your dry ingredients (creamer, sugar, whatever) into your coffee cup first. Then add just a small amount of coffee. No more than a fingertip's depth. Then hold the cop by the rim and swirl it around gently to mix the dry ingredients into a sort of slurry. Then, add the rest of the coffee by pouring it in with the coffee pot about a foot above the cup (this adds a little energy to mix the slurry into the coffee).
Being out in the woods, or desert, or even i the office a little easier. There's no stirrer to throw away and no spoon to wash.
I still think a spoon on a drill would be more fun, though.
While this is probably a comedic bit, they have created similar tools for people with Parkinson's or other nerve disorders to be able to regain independence.
I was scrolling through my feed and thought this was posted in r/mildlyinteresting so I wanted to see the technique they used to make this work. I needed this laugh 😆
Did you know if you put the cream and or sugar in first and then lightly twirl the cup while you fill it with coffee, it mixes itself? Not sure who else needs to read this but definitely the guy who takes 20 minutes making his coffee at the gas station

Now they need to clean it up with a spinny towel attachment
*10 minutes later* "Sir, the suspect claims he was only trying to make some coffee and did not intentionally want to burn the city down"
“He said he wanted to deploy his spinny hose but was vehemently refused!”
You never go full helicopter.
Wouldn't be surprised if this was a Simone Giertz vid
Go go gadget spinny towel!

Not really, it's the top voted one so far
How odd I would be downvoted. For complimenting someone.

Underrated compliment contemplation
Saying something is underrated is saying that everyone else is disregarding it. That is not the case here.

yah that’s pretty much

The design is very human.
Ah, yes, because the traditional method is so burdensome.
I see the problem. The spoon is mounted off center. He need to make the adjustment and try to keep spoon in center. It was the eccentric motion causes the spill
I love shitty robot because they always make mistake and big spill everywhere I'm like omg why 🤣

So let’s give them a drill with a spoon on the end!
I mean this is that, that looks like a dremel tool, and I'm almost wondering if those have more torque than a common drill
Drills have more torque than dremels, and dremels go faster than drills. They’re also strengthened for different types of forces. With a drill, you go straight. With a dremel, the shaft of the bit is constantly receiving bending forces that must be resisted. Also, there’s no dremel in this video.
Yeah I was fucking up torque and speed unfortunately. Someone else pointed out the other hand I didn't see too.
I think it's just a drill. You can see his right hand holding the handle a bit towards the end.
You right, didn't notice that
If they have a motor disability then granting motor ability is actually the solution
Well, yes. But just not this one.
I feel like if you can't work a spoon, you probably can't drink from a tiny espresso cup either though.
you put the espresso cup on a second drill
And then put that drill on another drill
I saw your comment and, at first, felt bad for my flippant response. Reminds me of The Avengers. Tony is standing at Nick Fury’s command station with two monitors and covering one eye says “how does he even see these?” Maria hill says “He turns.” Tony says “sounds exhausting.”
That said, I'll take 10.
This is like a bad infomercial. *Is stirring your coffee costing you valuable time in the morning?! ...Head on! Apply directly to forehead*
Would've totally worked if they had a steady trigger finger and didn't press the drill/spoon into the bottom of the cup..
Yea this was done on purpose 100%
Plus the cup looks too small
It can, but it's a decently-sized espresso cup with an unruly barista at the helm, heh
At first, it looked like the cup exploded to me. I was like, goddamn that was a fragile cup. But then I saw it just threw the cup to the side. So yea, totally could have worked if not at an angle and pushing on the bottom. The spinny spoon even looked like it had different speeds
This looks like something the dad from Gremlins invented.
Tim ‘The Toolman’ Taylor actually is responsible for this, just needs more power...
Pretty sure this was intentional
[удалено]
maybe it was an accident
Dumb
Maybe he did it on purpose just to show us how to stir a cup of coffee improperly.
I just dump a little cream in before pouring in the coffee. No stirring required
I mean I feel like this is exactly the out come they wanted so not really regret.
Wow this is so funny, best post of the year i watched this at least 1500 times

This one goes for coffee gourmets, no coffee shall be added sugar.

I'm wondering how someone can be so stupid!
It’s called idiocy for Internet attention
Its called american
Good. Just stir your damn coffee like a normal person
Well the sugar is certainly dispersed
I keep watching this and I laugh harder every time
What a stupid fucking post
It's probably for the best, that's way too much sugar for such a tiny cup.

Yo

New title "how to make your parents give you a flat ass and a minecraft shaped head"
I mean. It technically worked right? It's job was to mix the coffee. It was mixed alright, just not in the cup.
You realize some great inventors in history thought of something like this as well?
The axis of rotation is imbalanced, it will cause severe vibration. Was a good idea if there was 2 spoon balanced.
Physics

i thought tim allen was retired
They really didn't need to spin the spoon to scoop the sugar
You have to be a total moron if you put sugar/cream into an espresso AND stir it. So I expected nothing less from this person.

Just buy a frother

The real travesty is the amount of sugar they put in

Not trying to be an insensitive jerk but if you have Parkinson’s, stirring shit up isn’t really an issue, it’s kinda “feature” of the condition.
Or you could just stir it with your hand like any other normal person would 🤣🤣🤣
That was waaaaaay too much sugar anyway
You fool, the Stirmaster won't be invented for another few million years
Should have gone with a dremel tool and ran it around 15k rpm
L-logics
Just use a knife. Much easier.

Drill and fork, drill and fork but mostly fork… spoon version.
Next time epoxy the cup to the counter. You will have to drink with a straw but that’s the price you pay for looking cool.
