That’s actually insanely priced for an app wtf?? I’m in the north and the UK one is £4.99

elfy4eva

It's a racket, they still were plugging their regularly out of date book CD rom combo when I did it several years ago. And all you were buying was access to the actual exam questions.

DeepDickDave

This happened to me too. Failed it and then had to buy the proper disk.

ArmorOfMar

It seems that you can request a free promo code by emailing the developers of the app, if you have purchased a previous version I’ll keep the post up for visibility

occono

How do you do that?

ArmorOfMar

One of the reviews has a developer response, they cite an email address, I suppose you contact them through there

Pr1ncE1

You can request a refund or a free code for the new app, I emailed [email protected] They gave me a code to get the app for free, I just let them know the situation, what the transaction code was and I sent them a screen grab of the message saying the app will be discontinued

chocolatenotes

I said on here before the price of the app was ridiculous and was told it was “the cheapest part of learning to drive” etc ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)

oxuiq

Hey you have to get a refund it’s very clearly written on the app. Took me two weeks to prep and pass my test from 0. It’s worth the money. Good luck OP

ArmorOfMar

Yeah I’ve contacted them about upgrading me. Cheers

New-Plenty-2470

It fucking sucks man

ArmorOfMar

They offer free upgrades to people who bought the previous versions, at least

dropthecoin

How would you need to spend €20 on a new one, as you said in the post, if you're getting a free upgrade?

New-Plenty-2470

Got mine done already, just waiting for psc

goombagoomba2

There's free versions and the test is only 40 euro and you only need 35/40 so you don't need to be 100% confident

RebelGrin

16.99

ArmorOfMar

Are you suggesting that 17 isn’t almost 20?

Massive-Foot-5962

I think he's more suggesting that 16.99 is a lot closer to 17 than it is to 20.

RebelGrin

16.99 is closer to 15 than it is to 20, could have said a little over 15 euro, or 17 euro, but you wanted more shock value. Still expensive for an app mind.

beanghost

your knickers are in a twist

RebelGrin

You're a twist in my knickers

demonspawns_ghost

The whole theory test is a scam. I took it years ago and failed because they put in a few questions with more than one valid answer, but you need to memorize their book to get the "correct" one. And apparently the test centers are operated by an American company. Or at least they were back then.

dropthecoin

None of that is evidence that it's a scam. You just answered too many questions incorrectly.

demonspawns_ghost

Can you tell me the average national pass rate for the DTT?

dropthecoin

A quick Google shows the most recent average pass to be around 75%. Why?

bathtubsplashes

I always find it hilarious in these chains when the other guy goes totally radio silent

demonspawns_ghost

The information I found shows a 53% pass rate.

dropthecoin

That's the driving *theory* test or the driving test? Figures from the CSO have the number at 74%. https://www.cso.ie/en/releasesandpublications/ep/p-tranom/transportomnibus2021/driverandvehicletesting 53% corresponds with the full driving test. https://www.newstalk.com/news/driving-test-results-heres-the-pass-rate-for-every-centre-in-the-country-1430347

Spirited_Cable_7508

>you need to memorize their book to get the "correct" one. Are you saying that you need to learn the rules of the road in order to pass a test on those rules? That’s fucking disgraceful 🙄

Tough-Juggernaut-822

No learning the rules of the road is easy it's answering a few of the questions that aren't in the rules of road that you need the question bank for. Going to see if I can get the update, my version was only bought a few months ago for the bike questions, will need to review them again before the full test.
