Dublin City is free parking on Sundays and free after 7pm on Saturday, so just find on street parking somewhere and pay until 7pm on Saturday and get your car back on Sunday.

Would it be easy to get parking and safe? Also if anyone could recommend a particular street or something it would be handy. I've never driven in Dublin before so I just know if I'm lost I'll definitely end up causing some poor soul a world of road rage. If I knew where in going on Google maps it would be great😅

Yes theres parking everywhere in and around town.

[deleted]

It says max stay is 3 hours?

DTAD18

Well yeah you have to pay for street parking until 7.then free all day sunday

[deleted]

But like can I park the car Saturday and pay until 7 then come back Sunday without ever moving the car in between? By max stay 3 hours do you not have to move it Every 3 hours or do they mean free for 3 hours?

DTAD18

If you pay til 7 I wouldn't worry about the 3 hours thing. I've never heard of anyone getting grief cos their car was parked for longer than 3 hours. Not all parking bays have that rule.

Thanks

Another option is to get the Go Car app and you can rent a little car in city, they come with free on street parking anywhere in Dublin City and they are not too expensive, cheaper than renting a car from a hire company. They charge you per kilometre, first 50km are free and the car comes with fuel already in it and insurance is included. If you need fuel there is a fuel card in the glove box and the cost is covered, I'm sure there some t&c's. The keys are already in the car and the app sends you the cars location and a code to unlock the door. If you are planning on using the app you need to register a few days before with a driver's licence so they can certify it's you.

Use parkopedia - it’s a really handy website to check parking options. I often park in the [National College of Ireland](https://www.ncirl.ie) at weekends as it’s very cheap but safe. It closes around 11pm (double check times!) but you could leave a car there overnight as far as I know. It may be too central for your needs, it’s good for three arena and Bord Gais theatre.

Red cow and get the tram in ?

[deleted]

Good option tbf. I've never been to Dublin though so I think it would be easier for us to walk on foot besides try to get our head around the luas

LurkerByNatureGT

If you've never been to Dublin before, getting the luas in from Red Cow will be much simpler and less stressful than trying to drive in the city centre.
