I would tend to think that a single operative could not do the Loot & Salvage action twice in one activation same as they cannot perform any other action twice in one activation without a special rule saying otherwise.

Anton_Willbender

That's what I realized after my last game aaand so I've cheated unintentionally :(

pizzanui

If it's not intentional, it's not cheating, it's a mistake.

carefulllypoast

found the rule! > Unless otherwise specified, an operative cannot perform the same action more than once during its activation. pg. 12

ryusai72

That also means that you can't Operate Hatch twice during the same activation when you play ITD, even if one of those actions is free.

Anton_Willbender

Yep, indeed. This I knew but was wondering if it was different for mission action since it seemed a bit different and ''outside the operative'' but realized it's not at all. I have unintentionally cheated in my last game then :(

Leap_Year_Creepier

Next game you can *intentionally* cheat!

GeoMagnus

Although you couldn't do the same action twice, I do believe you could do two mission actions if they were different, e.g. open a door and loot, or siphon fuel and pick up

Anton_Willbender

That seems logical. We don't play into the dark yet, we are still learning and we play open, classic boards

GeoMagnus

Try the Fuel Run mission - it's pretty fun! And made for open board with Octarius terrain if you have that, otherwise I'm sure whatever you have could suffice

Anton_Willbender

I'll try it next game, thanks for the recommandation Is there specific terrain set up per mission? Sometimes I feel there is but we just place a bunch of stuff on the board, breaking LoS and some covers and vantage points and go with it

jacedaniels

You are correct. The same way that you can perform 1 of each universal actions (move, dash, shoot, etc...) but not twice usually

OblongMong

Action limit applies within activation, you can only make one named action per activation, unless other rules allow you e.g. Bolter Discipline. You can however, and i throw it here as many people don't know it. Loot when you are in melee range, as in you can charge the enemy and as long as you have control over the objective (more APL) you can loot it. A good example are Rievers with Terror active, being able to loot in the presence of most enemy operatives.

Anton_Willbender

Okay so control is just you have more APL and secured (or something) is there's no enemy on it, right?

OblongMong

Secured is part of mission Secure, it becomes secured if you perform Secure action while you control the objective. Bit convoluted but once you play it once or twice it becomes clear.

Anton_Willbender

Oh. Okay. I must have got that mixed up. Thanks for the clarifications

Feuerfritas

Just a note that the Crit Ops pack (which is how the game is played competitively) has changed the missions and the loot one can be done 2" away from the objective and not 1". Just a minor note and also a recommendation to play those missions instead.

Anton_Willbender

Okay, thanks !

Massiahjones

Until the start of the next turning point that objective marker is looted. You can only do this once per turning point. It's also been updated so that you can loot in the fourth turning point as well.

Anton_Willbender

It was on two different objectives but the issue is doing the same action twice. Why weren't you allowed to loot on the 4th turning point ?

Massiahjones

Oh my bad. Good question :) I'm not sure about the turn limit but they changed it a few faqs ago.
