I think he meant as in now or maybe he meant later. I had a friend who absolutely loved lego dimensions and it was extremely hard to get ahold of packs and he was in North America. He'd make a 1 ½ - 2 hour drive to get packs. Although a good chunk of the packs nowadays are actually lower than their original retail values. who knows lol 🤣. I personally put it in my top 3, and do hope more people come around to it.😂

I mean you can't play the game without buying the big plastic gate base and can't 100% it without spending hundreds on all the extra characters and level packs, a lot of the best content was add-on story packs but they were crazy expensive. Similar to HL-Alyx where you have to buy an expensive VR setup, the game just doesn't work without it.
I hated pirates, never even finished it. For me the characters were too indistinct. I never knew who had which ability, and it never felt cool to play as some random pirate. Felt the same about Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park. Never understood why they're so highly rated.
Well Lego City Undercover shouldve at least gotten top 5 I think but the biggest loser of all this is Lego Dimensions. Like That is one of the best ever Lego games with how much it offers and without looking into it to much to rank it I can savely say its a top 10 game at least!

Looks about right, particularly the lower end ones where it's mostly the ones hampered by a failed gimmick, missed trend or unwise licensing choice. I think the one most hard done by in the bottom half is Force Awakens, which did very well for its handicap of stretching a single, controversial movie over a whole game of content. Would swap spots with Hobbit.
Same personally goes for Movie 2, which I defend as trying several interesting new ideas over an extremely short and rushed development, did well for what it had to overcome and doesn't deserve flat last but I see why it is.
Top half glad to see Pirates so high, I consider it the best movie adaptation; surprised City didn't make the top 10 (would swap it with TSS personally); wasn't sure what would be #1 but it figures if the final round is the old Marvel vs DC battle Marvel always wins that.
I really think for how high complete saga rated, lego star wars 1 and 2 fell out of the running pretty quick. If you really loved TCS so much, why are it's component games *waaaaay* lower? TCS punched way above it's weight class on nostalgia, IMO.
That was my reasoning for voting them out. Complete Saga is both games combined and with even more stuff and improvements to Lego Star Wars 1 with the new abilities/ mechanics created for 2. It felt better to knock them out early rather than let them take a spot from a more deserving game when it was a foregone conclusion that complete saga would take them out anyway.
Definitely not just nostalgia. As NichtMenschlich said, it's because those games are pointless when you have a superior version. If it was 1st, then I would suspect nostalgia won, but 8th place is well earned.
From what I can tell, most people haven't played the original 2 games, especially the first one. It's somewhat difficult to play nowadays. You either need to emulate it or still have a 6th gen console. Complete Saga is much more accessible.
The Clone Wars and Marvel Superheroes are my two “nostalgia” LEGO games, with Skywalker Saga being my favorite recent one, so I’m glad all three got top 10
One of my more in between games is Undercover, so it getting 11 is good. I never played 8-2, so out of the ones I’ve played my favorites being the top makes me feel good about my choices.

yeah, if you ignore the whole toys to life thing, Dimensions is the best. It has pretty much everything you could want from TT's style of LEGO games other than the customizer and level builder.
I would agree. I think Marvel Supeheroes really set the precedent for every other game and built on what Batman 2 did with its open world and story. I think it is well deserved

To me, not even close. It’s one of my least favorite Lego games. Note, I too also grew up with this game but I didn’t like it then, and I don’t like it now. The two positives I can give it were that the character roster was great and Stan Lee being a playable character was a fun experience. Everything else I’m not a fan of. The levels were not as interesting, trying to fill the map was obnoxious, too many fetch quests for my liking, too much flipping between characters to compete objectives unless you really like Iron Man, and New York was just not that interesting of a place to explore to me, it’s just New York “whoopee”.
I pretty much disagree with most of these games' placements. TCS is fair, maybe same with LIJ1 and LB1. They're the originals, and there's things that almost no LEGO game since has done quite as well, but they're also not the best overall. And LEGO Movie 2 is fair because while i appreciate some of what they tried to do with it (a story-based LEGO game with more player freedom), it's just not a very fun game overall.
- my top 3 are Dimensions, TSS and POTC. TSS and POTC at least both got to the top 10 here, but Dimensions really should have been higher. It's very inconvenient to actually play, but it has so much great content, some really good level design, a nice variety of open worlds (even if their layouts are weird with them all being floating islands that are smaller versions of the locations).
- Worlds and Incredibles i'd also place much higher. Worlds had a lot of wasted potential, but as a LEGO exploration game it's still fun, it's nice to see all the different LEGO themes in one game, being able to actually build stuff, etc. Incredibles was a smaller scale game, but it had imo the best open world activities in any LEGO game. The crime waves were really fun, side quests that actually affect how the world looks. the fact they made all of them replayable is great, too. The daytime cycle is a nice addition, and there's a bunch of fun gameplay things, the pixar characters were nice, and quite a few levels were actually pretty fun. Nothing special, but idk why it's so hated.
- LEGO Batman 2 is way too high imo. I really like the game, i played it a lot and still go back to it sometimes, but i'd place it in maybe top 10, not top 3. Some levels were fun, i really liked the open world layout, but it might actually have the least fun vehicle missions in LEGO games, and there's not much to do in the open world, you can't even properly glide from buildings as Batman since you can't just switch to the glide suit at will like you could in LB1 free play.
- I'd put LIJ2 higher. It's a good game if you already have LIJ1 so you don't need another game that does the same thing in almost the same way (since the games released a year apart). So, it's good if you treat it as a big DLC rather than a standalone game, but it is very good at being that, i had a fun time with it. It had the level builder, multiple open worlds, and 96 levels, with some pretty good gameplay. And i'd say most of the bonus levels were at least pretty fun, so that's like 30 at least decent levels.
Lego Marvel Superheroes is probably deserving as it is probably the most well rounded holding a great roster, hub, and levels while also having that old style charm, not to mention the nostalgia.
While it's not my personal favourite, I will accept it as the best overall.
