To help others gauge what's suitable for you: What kind of project are you going for? Will the strap be load bearing, like on a bag, or will it be for a belt?

I mean I wasnt initially looking for a craft project, I came to the mandolin sub looking for a vegan mandolin strap that goes around my shoulder to hold my instrument. Thought this seemed like an appropriate place.
Look for a paracord strap or have fun and learn how to braid one yourself. Just an idea.

YouTube must have a nice video on how to make one. Like a belt just make to lenth and put loops on ends. Or patch at bottom and ties for neck.

I have a Webb strap that is vinyl. They were out of Bedford VA 25 years ago when I got it.

I have a PILE of mandolin straps. Currently I use a single strand of paracord with loops at each end.
