Kind of an obscure law but if you finance a Dodge Ram at 28% for 84 months you are legally allowed to always go first no matter what

bigskyway

I believe this loophole only applies if the driver has a BAC of .08 or higher.

KirbStompKillah

Intoxication is assumed for a dodge ram driver, required if its a Power Wagon.

Allilujah406

Or if they have some sort of tier 2 stimulant in their blood

Longjumping_Lynx3385

This is the best reddit comment I've seen in a while lol

406goon

For safety I see it as 2 separate 3-way intersections. Rules of a 4 way intersection don’t apply simply because of the street name on the sign.

inkmathematics

I live on Mcdonald and will do everything in my power never to use this intersection.

librarians_wwine

Used to live there and I agree. I would drive blocks for school pick up to not deal with this intersection.

aircooledJenkins

You REALLY need to tell us which direction these cars are traveling in your scenario. Are they turning left, right or going straight?

Atxflyguy83

Both cars 2 and 3 are going south on Russell. There is an opening in traffic, but only for one vehicle. Is car 3 screwing car 2 by turning, even though they weren't at the stop sign first?

But if you’re making a left-hand turn, you’re expected to yield to any vehicle that’s facing you and coming across the intersection – even if you had to wait for traffic to clear and that driver got there *after* you did. (If that doesn’t make sense to you, picture the intersection with traffic lights. No matter who arrived first, when the light turns green, you always wait for cars to proceed before you make a left-hand turn. This is the same, only with signs instead of red lights.)Right-of-way in two-way stopsAt a two-way stop when you’re at a stop sign, you obviously yield to traffic crossing in front of you. It’s not a 4 way intersection when there’s that much of a gap. It’s two separate 3 way intersections and should be viewed as such. If car 1 or 3 is turning left, they should be getting in the far left lane for that direction and car two would be getting in the far right lane for that direction if they are turning right and vise-versa. If all cars are trying to go “straight”, that’s clearly not possible or an option as any of the cars would have to make a right and then left turn to go on the other streets.

Atxflyguy83

I can understand that thought process. I will say GMaps has this a bit exaggerated. It's more of the top of the east McDonald meets up with the bottom of the west McDonald.

aircooledJenkins

IHaveNeverBeenOk

God, looks like a disaster easily fixed with a roundabout.

Axytyl

Still requires a turn to enter either street, correct? It’s not a straight shot? If it requires any sort of actual turning, it’s a 3 way intersection. If it’s a straight shot, then it’s a 4 way and should be treated as such

Axytyl

This being said, if 1 and 3 are going the same direction and that road has two lanes going in each direction, both should be able to go at the same time provided they have an opening and get in their respective, correct, lanes of travel for their turns

KaiserAspen

The cyber truck NEVER has the right of way!

Copropositor

It really depends on which of the 2 cars is a Subaru, and if they're done hitting their vape.

Awilberforce

If I’m not planning on turning right onto Russell from either side of that intersection, I’m going a different way

goinboinkers

Car 2, regardless of how hideous said car is. Car 3 is not at the stop sign until car 1 goes.

Catsinbowties

Side note: watch for pedestrians! I almost get ran over in this very spot ALL THE TIME. I use crosswalks and I'm glad I'm alert or I'd be gone.

adhdamp

Cybertruck always has the right of way

Emergency-Grass8248

1, 2, 3. It does not matter that 3 was there before 2. 2 was stopped at the stop sign before 3. Stop over thinking this it's not that hard. I guess it also depends what way everyone's turning 😂 ffs. Whoever was there first goes first at the stop sign. But if one car is trying to take a left and is blocked by traffic in the different lane then and the person on the opposite side has a gap to go the opposite side should go. If there turning in the closest lane with the flow of traffic. Put a roundabout in there.

aztecraingod

Low man wins

llamachabbly

Russell has the right of way.

ride_Montana

If you're turning right, and the opposing car is turning left, you have right of way of the opposing vehicle, regardless of order or who was there first. This pretty much applies in every situation, except a 4-way stop, then it is sequential.

modernpinaymagick

I feel like Russell has right of way since it’s such a busy road the entire way. Feels dangerous to drive right through it
