I wonder if it was the Pink Panther movies that started the appeal 🤔
It's not 80s but I liked the [end credits of Black Dynamite](https://youtu.be/aM5Lmc4hLjU?si=L-w2GGAvAXkdY_4K) and especially the character who starts walking at 1:34.
It happened to me. I thought I was gonna watch a cartoon while surfing tv then bam: buncha real life people.
These two examples are movies I liked anyways, but it did disappoint me back then.
I wouldn't say I hated them, and I don't think it was the reason they did them, but your point is very real.

Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
Just watched this one the other night! Mom straight up abandoned the family for months hahaha
I immediately thought of [Better Off Dead](https://youtu.be/KJkytkPBQj0?si=yCMnakOoL364hiFT)
This is the best one because it’s established that Lane Meyer is a cartoonist and that they are his drawings and imagination come to life.
Roger rabbitt
It was a whole cartoon!
Troop Beverly Hills and Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitters dead!
I remember being confused by the animated opening sequence of a movie (I think it was *Freaky Friday*) and worrying that we'd rented the wrong tape.
Haha, oh man
One Crazy Summer.

The animated intro of Mr. Magoo was the only good part of that complete dumpster fire of a movie.
I can hear the sound when Santa knocks out all of the Christmas lights
Didn’t Rat Race do something like this? Or was that just the credits?
Christmas Vacation had a great intro!
City Slickers is still a favorite opening: https://youtu.be/4KAbYc6YrLQ?si=JBMAHVquM_Wthq_u
El Doctor, Helloooo, Don't sew up anything that's supposed to remain open!
This one is great! I hadn’t thought about it in years!
Weekend At Bernie’s 2
Don’t tell mom the babysitters dead
Honeymoon In Vegas.
It was called effort
Mannequin, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Creepshow (?)
It’s a beaut Clark, it’s a beaut!
I love the intro to Christmas Vacation. Still watch it every year
🎵 It's that time.. Christmas time is herrrre 🎵
Hip hip hooray for Christmas Vacation!
Friday series has animated intros
Honestly? Hated them. Felt like it was trying to falsely draw kids into what was an adult movie.
I can see that for national lampoons, but honey I shrunk the kids was a kids movie
Not really. Talking about French kissing and that kids penis.
Okay, now yourejustbeingadick
