Okay, I had to google . . in Dutch, "dichterbij" is "near," or "close," so that works, but "vedder" is "feather?"

Dutch word for Further (away) is 'verder'. But a lot of dutch people don't speak Official Dutch as first language, and in a lot of dialects 'verder' is pronounced as 'vedder'.

There we go! That makes sense.

Vedder is kind of dialect to verder (farther away or further), so in Dutch the meme is Eddie Closer, Eddie Further. I love this meme because it is kind of my dialect.
