I’m in Florida, all of mine are in full sun. The label is right

Crotons love sun. You’ll need to acclimate them first. They get their pretty colors from being in full sun. Without lots and lots of sun, leaves turn green! What I’d do in Texas sun is keep it in a very sunny spot inside and then I’d slowly acclimate it outside in a shady spot. You’re right that Texas sun is crazy…so I may keep in a shady spot outdoors first and then try the full sun in Texas for 2 hours, then 4, then 6. Each time about a week apart. Mine handle full sun in the South (not as hot as Texas) but I do have to slowly acclimate them.

Thank you!! I decided to put it in mostly-shade today, so next week I'll move it out 👌 its been cloudy lately here but the brutal summer is imminent

Not familiar with the brand, but if the number on the top right is indicative of the zone this croton is meant to grow in, zone 3 is the northernmost US and parts of Canada — completely different climate (and sun intensity) than Texas, which is zone 8/9. Go with internet consensus, especially for your zone.

Oh thank you so much, I hadn't even considered that. You're saving me a lot of struggle 😂
