Second this! Def go to tramway instead - even black is pretty hot and buggy rn, we just went last weekend and it was still only good in the morning and evening
You're aware that the entire Western US is in the middle of a terrific heat wave, right? Daytime highs in the park will be in the 90-100°F range:

It'll be possible to climb, but probably best done in the VERY early morning, or after dark. Or in the middle of the night.
In the past, I've usually gotten a motel room, to sleep the day from ~9am til 8pm in an air conditioned room.
This is a legit bad idea. JTree bouldering season is February for a reason. It will be far too hot, the rock will feel like shit and if you’re not properly prepared for that heat you could die.
That said, you can climb overnight just bring lights!
Haha, thanks all! I had a couple of hours, I bouldered in the heat. It was a relatively cool day, around 75 to 85. I just climbed around Trashcan Rock. It was a fun and relatively easy set of boulders.
I'm also from the desert, so heat isn't really an issue for me for all concerned. I had plenty of water, hats, and shade. And a got a great tan!
Thanks for the responses. Happy climbing :)
Will be way too hot. Check out tramway https://www.mountainproject.com/area/105991060/the-tramway

That's badass.

hmm good luck, it'll be about 100 degrees tomorrow...for pads there's the vending machine in the nomad venture's parking lot
Go to Palm Springs Aerial Tramway during the day then go to J Tree at night. That's a full day and night of climbing. Have fun!
One word….Tramway
