The brightness of the blue in sunlight is just glorious. I love it. When he's standing in the sun the suit looks sky blue, which is what I had hoped for. Somehow the blue looks darker in other lighting, and I love that too. Corenswet has a lot of range of movement and he looks comfortable. It looks like a super suit. The red boots look a little worn in. I like the texture and lines. Diamonds on knees evoke the shield but not literally. Only emblem is the chest and cape, front and back. Perfect.

I think this is the best look that we've had at the costume yet, the fact that there some people that dislike this costume genuinely baffles me, this suit is almost perfect, the colors pop it brought back the trunks and it has the yellow logo on the back
As someone that, well, I don't *hate* it, but I definitely do not *like* it. It is baggy. Way way too baggy. The COLORS are spectacular, but the rest of it literally looks like a motorcycle racing suit without elbow/knee pads. Why did Corenswet bother to get jacked if the suit completely hides his muscularity?
Well comics basically draw them naked and color it so it has clothes, so making it that tight is just insane, it should still look like clothing on screen
Every new pic i see of the suit the more i like it. I will never be able to wrap my mind around studios’ endless obsession with those damn lines on suits and making them look all “modernized” i guess but this is about as perfect as you can get and the material really does at least look less alien than the last one and more cloth/homemade
What just dawned on me is that the cape is actually in the shot! Feel like a lot of capes and even full costumes have been just added in post over the last decade or so.
it looks like Clark’s struggling to get into flight mode. Is it possible Gunn’s adapting the Smashes the Klan sub-plot when Clark discovers 100% Kryptonian powers like flight and heat vision ?
With these in the promo pic I think what is important is that Gotham can still be dark Gotham and Superman won’t look out of place but he also doesn’t look out of place in his own city. This made more sense in my head

The last little piece of mind I need is a good Superman movie. I've gotten my satisfaction from Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk and so many others but I still haven't had the Superman itch hit (I loathed Man of Steel).
So far this looks like it. I'm holding out hope that this will be THE Supes movie (not counting 1978, of course) I'd love to see Corenswet become the defacto Superman until he's too old to do it anymore and DC actually have a stable, successful series finally.
The Kingdom Come logo is my #1 favorite version of the S. And I'm digging the color pallet. But I'm kinda wishing the blue was just a touch darker and the red a little richer... not a lot, not MoS levels of darker.. but a bit. I also wish the red boxers weren't so loose. It literally looks like he's just wearing some red boxer-briefs on over the costume VS it being part of the outfit. Also..not really digging that belt for some reason, it looks clunky and hard to hide under a suit at the Daily Planet.
All in all, I'm still anticipating the movie and hope DC has finally learned it's lesson about trying to do story shortcuts to build up a cinematic universe.
Edit: someone further down posted a gif of Christopher Reeve's superman. The color pallet for his suit was spot on. The yellow is perfect in this, but the other two colors are just slightly /too/ bright imho.
I love this suit, but I definitely agree with some of your points. I do wish it was a deeper blue like Alex Ross uses, and that the red was a little bit more of a slightly deeper yet vibrant shade. That with no collar would probably make this my favorite Superman suit of all time!
This looks like more than just flying. Like a takeoff. He’s pushing down into the ground with his feet to propel him further into the air. Like when you’re in a pool and use your feet to push yourself off the wall so you move through the water faster.
It seems like there's something more going on in the context of this scene, it doesn't seem to be just a flight.

Such a floppy rubber suit it’s so weird. Reminds me of one of those expensive costumes you’re only allowed to rent out for Halloween. But like it doesn’t fit you.
I'm 50/50... I love the look of the suit but I can't understand why they couldn't create something closer to the Cavill suit fit. I'm sure it will look better on screen, after fx.... But I'm worried that the costume quality (not the design or colors) is something you'd expect to see 20 years ago.
It’s interesting. “20 years ago” makes me think of the Raimi Spider-Man costume. It’s the first one I can recall with that dodgeball texture, airbrushed abs and a muscle suit that really gave the wearer comic book-style proportions. Pretty revolutionary at the time. Then I feel like we got a ton of that over the next 20 years.
When we got the first official pic of Corenswet’s costume, and the set leaks, I was relieved we weren’t getting more of that. For me it made Cavill’s suits look dated because those followed all those design elements from the Raimi costumes. New one looks more like clothing than something made from a body cast, and it’s refreshing.
I hear ya .. and not trying to hate on it. Actually my favorite design since Reeve. I just remembered Hollywood making superhero movies 20 yrs ago (X-Men/ Daredevil/ etc) Always some producer saying "comic accurate don't translate to film". Whether you like the movie or not... BvS's Batman costume proved comic accurate costumes can look amazing. I have a lot of faith in Gunn. Corenswet is gonna be amazing, and probably better than Cavill playing Clark and Supes. BUT man dude got jacked for the role... Suit looks baggy as hell in a few shots. I just want this movie to be HUGE. I need sequels hahah

This is one of the best version of superman out there. Please point to the exact spot where these colours look goofy
I love it, the only thing I’d change is make the blue slightly darker (I just like a darker blue and red combo) but other than that it’s perfect. I also love how David looks like he’s putting effort into lifting off, it’s one of the things I loved so much about Cavill’s portrayal of superman.
That costume looks like something you would find on Amazon. It looks so frumpy! It hides his physique and makes him appear like an average joe with a Dad body wearing a Superman outfit. OR!!! Is that their intent? To make him appear as a normal guy rather than as a demi-god as in MOS.
It looks frumpy because it’s designed so he can actually move; a skin-tight suit would limit him physically on set. It won’t look frumpy after post production and CGI corrections.

Not sure about MoS, but BvS Cavill's suit definitely looked different from set photos.
Even if you disagree with the suit design, a set photo is still not representative of how the suit will appear in the final product. Nor does it entirely capture the performance of the lead actor, which is essential for making any superhero feel 'real' in live-action.
yes, the suit looked bad. It looked like they put a middle-aged balding man in a gimp suit and got him wet... For the entire movie. The only thing on it that even looked remotely 'Superman' was the logo on the chest.

I think this is the best look that we've had at the costume yet, the fact that there some people that dislike this costume genuinely baffles me, this suit is almost perfect, the colors pop it brought back the trunks and it has the yellow logo on the back

As someone that, well, I don't *hate* it, but I definitely do not *like* it. It is baggy. Way way too baggy. The COLORS are spectacular, but the rest of it literally looks like a motorcycle racing suit without elbow/knee pads. Why did Corenswet bother to get jacked if the suit completely hides his muscularity?
Well comics basically draw them naked and color it so it has clothes, so making it that tight is just insane, it should still look like clothing on screen

Every new pic i see of the suit the more i like it. I will never be able to wrap my mind around studios’ endless obsession with those damn lines on suits and making them look all “modernized” i guess but this is about as perfect as you can get and the material really does at least look less alien than the last one and more cloth/homemade

What just dawned on me is that the cape is actually in the shot! Feel like a lot of capes and even full costumes have been just added in post over the last decade or so.

The last little piece of mind I need is a good Superman movie. I've gotten my satisfaction from Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk and so many others but I still haven't had the Superman itch hit (I loathed Man of Steel). So far this looks like it. I'm holding out hope that this will be THE Supes movie (not counting 1978, of course) I'd love to see Corenswet become the defacto Superman until he's too old to do it anymore and DC actually have a stable, successful series finally.

The Kingdom Come logo is my #1 favorite version of the S. And I'm digging the color pallet. But I'm kinda wishing the blue was just a touch darker and the red a little richer... not a lot, not MoS levels of darker.. but a bit. I also wish the red boxers weren't so loose. It literally looks like he's just wearing some red boxer-briefs on over the costume VS it being part of the outfit. Also..not really digging that belt for some reason, it looks clunky and hard to hide under a suit at the Daily Planet. All in all, I'm still anticipating the movie and hope DC has finally learned it's lesson about trying to do story shortcuts to build up a cinematic universe. Edit: someone further down posted a gif of Christopher Reeve's superman. The color pallet for his suit was spot on. The yellow is perfect in this, but the other two colors are just slightly /too/ bright imho. 
I love this suit, but I definitely agree with some of your points. I do wish it was a deeper blue like Alex Ross uses, and that the red was a little bit more of a slightly deeper yet vibrant shade. That with no collar would probably make this my favorite Superman suit of all time!

This looks like more than just flying. Like a takeoff. He’s pushing down into the ground with his feet to propel him further into the air. Like when you’re in a pool and use your feet to push yourself off the wall so you move through the water faster.
It seems like there's something more going on in the context of this scene, it doesn't seem to be just a flight. Supes must be going to stop something/someone.
Such a floppy rubber suit it’s so weird. Reminds me of one of those expensive costumes you’re only allowed to rent out for Halloween. But like it doesn’t fit you.
I'm 50/50... I love the look of the suit but I can't understand why they couldn't create something closer to the Cavill suit fit. I'm sure it will look better on screen, after fx.... But I'm worried that the costume quality (not the design or colors) is something you'd expect to see 20 years ago.
It’s interesting. “20 years ago” makes me think of the Raimi Spider-Man costume. It’s the first one I can recall with that dodgeball texture, airbrushed abs and a muscle suit that really gave the wearer comic book-style proportions. Pretty revolutionary at the time. Then I feel like we got a ton of that over the next 20 years. When we got the first official pic of Corenswet’s costume, and the set leaks, I was relieved we weren’t getting more of that. For me it made Cavill’s suits look dated because those followed all those design elements from the Raimi costumes. New one looks more like clothing than something made from a body cast, and it’s refreshing.
I hear ya .. and not trying to hate on it. Actually my favorite design since Reeve. I just remembered Hollywood making superhero movies 20 yrs ago (X-Men/ Daredevil/ etc) Always some producer saying "comic accurate don't translate to film". Whether you like the movie or not... BvS's Batman costume proved comic accurate costumes can look amazing. I have a lot of faith in Gunn. Corenswet is gonna be amazing, and probably better than Cavill playing Clark and Supes. BUT man dude got jacked for the role... Suit looks baggy as hell in a few shots. I just want this movie to be HUGE. I need sequels hahah

I love it, the only thing I’d change is make the blue slightly darker (I just like a darker blue and red combo) but other than that it’s perfect. I also love how David looks like he’s putting effort into lifting off, it’s one of the things I loved so much about Cavill’s portrayal of superman.
I agree, a deeper shade of blue makes the red pop even more. It’s such a great contrast. Alex Ross Superman art is proof.
That costume looks like something you would find on Amazon. It looks so frumpy! It hides his physique and makes him appear like an average joe with a Dad body wearing a Superman outfit. OR!!! Is that their intent? To make him appear as a normal guy rather than as a demi-god as in MOS.
It looks frumpy because it’s designed so he can actually move; a skin-tight suit would limit him physically on set. It won’t look frumpy after post production and CGI corrections.

Sucks for the guys on that podcast I guess. When I look at the set photos, I just see Superman. Post-production will add all the cinematic film grain, color grading etc.
Cavil’s suit didn’t look much different from set photos to final film.
Not sure about MoS, but BvS Cavill's suit definitely looked different from set photos. Even if you disagree with the suit design, a set photo is still not representative of how the suit will appear in the final product. Nor does it entirely capture the performance of the lead actor, which is essential for making any superhero feel 'real' in live-action.
But it didn’t end up mattering since his Superman is a farce.

yes, the suit looked bad. It looked like they put a middle-aged balding man in a gimp suit and got him wet... For the entire movie. The only thing on it that even looked remotely 'Superman' was the logo on the chest.
